  • Image fusion is a technical method to integrate the spatial details of the high-resolution panchromatic (HRP) image and the spectral information of low-resolution multispectral (LRM) images to produce high-resolution multispectral images. The most important point in image fusion is enhancing the spatial details of the HRP image and simultaneously maintaining the spectral information of the LRM images. This implies that the physical characteristics of a satellite sensor should be considered in the fusion process. Also, to fuse massive satellite images, the fusion method should have low computation costs. In this paper, we propose a fast and efficient satellite image fusion method. The proposed method uses the spectral response functions of a satellite sensor; thus, it rationally reflects the physical characteristics of the satellite sensor to the fused image. As a result, the proposed method provides high-quality fused images in terms of spectral and spatial evaluations. The experimental results of IKONOS images indicate that the proposed method outperforms the intensity-hue-saturation and wavelet-based methods.

  • Location-aware networks are of great importance for both civil lives and military applications. Methods based on line-of-sight (LOS) measurements suffer sever performance loss in harsh environments such as indoor scenarios, where sensors can receive both LOS and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) measurements. In this paper, we propose a data association (DA) process based on the expectation maximization (EM) algorithm, which enables us to exploit multipath components (MPCs). By setting the mapping relationship between the measurements and scatters as a latent variable, coefficients of the Gaussian mixture model are estimated. Moreover, considering the misalignment of sensor position, we propose a space-alternating generalized expectation maximization (SAGE)-based algorithms to jointly update the target localization and sensor position information. A two dimensional (2-D) circularly symmetric Gaussian distribution is employed to approximate the probability density function of the sensor's position uncertainty via the minimization of the Kullback-Leibler divergence (KLD), which enables us to calculate the expectation step with low computational complexity. Moreover, a distributed implementation is derived based on the average consensus method to improve the scalability of the proposed algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed centralized and distributed algorithms can perform close to the Monte Carlo-based method with much lower communication overhead and computational complexity.

  • To operate a process plant safely and economically, process monitoring is very important. Process monitoring is the task to identify the state of the system from sensor data. Process monitoring includes data acquisition, regulatory control, data reconciliation, fault detection, etc. This research focuses on the data recon-ciliation using scale-space filtering and fault detection using functional-link associative neural networks. Scale-space filtering is a multi-resolution signal analysis method. Scale-space filtering can extract highest frequency factors(noise) effectively. But scale-space filtering has too large calculation costs and end effect problems. This research reduces the calculation cost of scale-space filtering by applying the minimum limit to the gaussian kernel. And the end-effect that occurs at the end of the signal of the scale-space filtering is overcome by using extrapolation related with the clustering change detection method. Nonlinear principal component analysis methods using neural network have been reviewed and the separately expanded functional-link associative neural network is proposed for chemical process monitoring. The separately expanded functional-link associative neural network has better learning capabilities, generalization abilities and short learning time than the exiting-neural networks. Separately expanded functional-link associative neural network can express a statistical model similar to real process by expanding the input data separately. Combining the proposed methods-modified scale-space filtering and fault detection method using the separately expanded functional-link associative neural network-a process monitoring system is proposed in this research. the usefulness of the proposed method is proven by its application a boiler water supply unit.

  • MANET constructs a network that is free and independent between sensor nodes without infrastructure. Also, there are a lot of difficulties to manage data process, control etc.. back efficiently from change of topology by transfer of sensor node that compose network. Especially, because each sensor node must consider mobility certainly, problem about energy use happens. To solve these problem, mechanisms that compose cluster of cluster header and hierarchic structure between member were suggested. However, accompanies inefficient energy consumption because sensing power level of sensor node is fixed and brings energy imbalance of sensor network and shortening of survival time. In this paper, I suggested intelligent clustering mechanism for efficient energy management to solve these problem of existent Clustering mechanism. Proposed mechanism corresponds fast in network topology change by transfer of sensor node, and compares in existent mechanism in circumstance that require serial sensing and brings elevation survival time of sensor node. Please put the abstract of paper here.

  • Presently, safety management of facilities is conducted as a site-oriented safety inspection, but depending on the facilities, there are difficulties in access to the site, and the cost and time of inspection are inefficient due to excessive reliance on human resources. Therefore, the necessity of sensor-based safety management is being raised to ensure the safety of the facility at all times, and various studies on sensor safety management are being conducted, but the research on verification of practicality is still insufficient. Therefore, the improvement points were presented through analysis of domestic and international studies, and additional processes for setting sensor attachment location and threshold were derived by analyzing the H city sensor safety management process, and practicality of sensor safety management was verified through sensor data measurement values. It is expected that efficient, sensor-based facility safety management will be possible if clear criteria and ongoing practicality verification for the additional processes presented in this study should be carried out in the future.

  • Skyline Query processing is important to wireless sensor applications in order to process multi-dimensional data efficiently. Most skyline researches about sensor network focus on minimizing the energy consumption due to the battery powered constraints. In order to reduce energy consumption, Filtering Method is proposed. Most existing researches have assumed a snapshot skyline query processing and do not consider continuous queries and use data generated in ancestor node. In this paper, we propose an energy efficient method called Bottom up filtering tuple selection for continuous skyline query processing. Past skyline data generated in child nodes are stored in each sensor node and is used when choosing filtering tuple. We also extend the algorithms, called Support filtering tuple(SFT) that is used when we choose the additional filtering tuple. There is a temporal correlation between previous sensing data and recent sensing data. Thus, Based on past data, we estimate current data. By considering this point, we reduce the unnecessary communication cost. The experimental results show that our method outperforms the existing methods in terms of both data reduction rate(DRR) and total communication cost.

  • In this study, we propose a technique to automatically generate transfer documents using sensor data from livestock manure transfer systems. The research involves analyzing sensor data and applying machine learning techniques to derive optimized outcomes for livestock manure transfer documents. By comparing and contrasting with existing documents, we present a method for automatic document generation. Specifically, we propose the utilization of Gradient Boosting, a machine learning algorithm. The objective of this research is to enhance the efficiency of livestock manure and liquid byproduct management. Currently, stakeholders including producers, transporters, and processors manually input data into the livestock manure transfer management system during the disposal of manure and liquid byproducts. This manual process consumes additional labor, leads to data inconsistency, and complicates the management of distribution and treatment. Therefore, the aim of this study is to leverage data to automatically generate transfer documents, thereby increasing the efficiency of livestock manure and liquid byproduct management. By utilizing sensor data from livestock manure and liquid byproduct transport vehicles and employing machine learning algorithms, we establish a system that automates the validation of transfer documents, reducing the burden on producers, transporters, and processors. This efficient management system is anticipated to create a transparent environment for the distribution and treatment of livestock manure and liquid byproducts.

  • In this paper, we introduce an autonomous calibration method for a 2D laser displacement sensor (e.g. laser vision sensor and laser range finder) by matching a single point on a flat structure. Many arc welding robots install a 2D laser displacement sensor to expand their application by recognizing their environment (e.g. base metal and seam). In such systems, sensing data should be transformed to the robot's coordinates, and the geometric relation (i.e. rotation and translation) between the robot's coordinates and sensor coordinates should be known for the transformation. Calibration means the inference process of geometric relation between the sensor and robot. Generally, the matching of more than 3 points is required to infer the geometric relation. However, we introduce a novel method to calibrate using only 1 point matching and use a specific flat structure (i.e. circular hole) which enables us to find the geometric relation with a single point matching. We make the rotation component of the calibration results as a constant to use only a single point by moving a robot to a specific pose. The flat structure can be installed easily in a manufacturing site, because the structure does not have a volume (i.e. almost 2D structure). The calibration process is fully autonomous and does not need any manual operation. A robot which installed the sensor moves to the specific pose by sensing features of the circular hole such as length of chord and center position of the chord. We show the precision of the proposed method by performing repetitive experiments in various situations. Furthermore, we applied the result of the proposed method to sensor based seam tracking with a robot, and report the difference of the robot's TCP (Tool Center Point) trajectory. This experiment shows that the proposed method ensures precision.
