A scientific and objective sound exposure criterion for underwater sound damage on fish has been required since there has been many disputes between an underwater sound maker and a fish damage receiver. The existing criteria are still incomplete scientifically owing to a degree of variability of underwater sounds, diversity of fish hearing sensitivity and damage types, etc. This study reviews existing studies on a hearing mechanism of fish species, manmade underwater sound characteristics and sound exposure assessment parameters, and recent sound exposure criteria. A governing equation for damage coverage estimation and damage coverage dependency on sound source level, ambient noise and transmission loss are also reviewed and interpreted based on sound exposure environments. The foreign and Korean (National Environmental Dispute Medication Commission) criteria are reviewed and compared based on scientific aspects. In addition, the deficit and limit of Korean criteria are presented. The objective of this study is to give a direction for related researches and legislation of sound exposure criteria on fish.
To evaluate the deposition amount on a ground surface, mesoscale numerical models coupled with atmospheric chemistry are widely used for larger horizontal domains ranging from a few to several hundreds of kilometers; however, these models are rarely applied to high-resolution simulations. In this study, the performance of a dry and wet deposition model is investigated to estimate the amount of deposition via computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models with high grid resolution. Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) simulations are implemented for a cone and a two-dimensional ridge to estimate the dry deposition rate, and a constant deposition velocity is used to obtain the dry deposition flux. The results show that the dry deposition rate of RANS generally corresponds to that observed in wind-tunnel experiments. For the wet deposition model, the transport equation of a new scalar concentration scavenged by rain droplets is developed and used instead of the scalar concentration scavenged by raindrops falling to the ground surface just below the scavenging point, which is normally used in mesoscale numerical models. A sensitivity analysis of the proposed wet deposition procedure is implemented. The result indicates the applicability of RANS for high-resolution grids considering the effect of terrains on the wet deposition.
A new nonlinear model was developed to evaluate the shear resistance of steel fiber-reinforced concrete beams (SFRCB) using linear genetic programming (LGP). The proposed model relates the shear strength to the geometrical and mechanical properties of SFRCB. The best model was selected after developing and controlling several models with different combinations of the influencing parameters. The models were developed using a comprehensive database containing 213 test results of SFRC beams without stirrups obtained through an extensive literature review. The database includes experimental results for normal and high-strength concrete beams. To verify the applicability of the proposed model, it was employed to estimate the shear strength of a part of test results that were not included in the modeling process. The external validation of the model was further verified using several statistical criteria recommended by researchers. The contributions of the parameters affecting the shear strength were evaluated through a sensitivity analysis. The results indicate that the LGP model gives precise estimates of the shear strength of SFRCB. The prediction performance of the model is significantly better than several solutions found in the literature. The LGP-based design equation is remarkably straightforward and useful for pre-design applications.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the acceptance intention towards healthcare wearable device in Korea. Specifically, this study attempted to identify the relationships among the acceptance intention towards healthcare wearable device, technical characteristics and user's personal characteristic based on UTAUT(Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) model. Design/methodology/approach For this purpose of research, we conducted against consumers who use the wearable devices and we collected data from 219 wearable device users. The analyses were conducted using SPSS and AMOS19.0 which is powerful structural equation modeling (SEM) software. Findings The main findings are as followed; First, functional diversity, wearability, trend sensitivity and health perception are significantly related to performance expectancy, while visual aesthetic and enjoyment are not significantly related. Second, performance expectancy and effort expectancy are significantly related to acceptance intention towards healthcare wearable device. Third, effort expectancy is significantly related to performance expectancy.

In this paper, we say the adaptive shading correction system supporting multi-resolution for mobile camera. The shading effect is caused by non-uniform illumination, non-uniform camera sensitivity, or even dirt and dust on glass (lens) surfaces. In general this shading effect is undesirable [1-3]. Eliminating it is frequently necessary for subsequent processing and especially when quantitative microscopy is the fine goal. The proposed system is available on thirty nine kinds of image resolutions scanned by interlaced and progressive type. Moreover, the system is using forty kinds of continuous quadratic equations instead of using the piece-wise linear curve which is composed of multiple line segments. Finally, the system could correct the shading effect without discontinuity in any image resolution. The proposed system is implemented in VLSI with cell library based on Hynix $0.25{\mu}m$ CMOS technology.
In this paper, we generalized the results of [23, 26], and get the results of the condition number of the W-weighted Drazin-inverse solution of linear system W AW\chi=b, where A is an $m{\times}n$ rank-deficient matrix and the index of A W is $k_1$, the index of W A is $k_2$, b is a real vector of size n in the range of $(WA)^{k_2}$, $\chi$ is a real vector of size m in the range of $(AW)^{k_1}$. Let $\alpha$ and $\beta$ be two positive real numbers, when we consider the weighted Frobenius norm $\|[{\alpha}W\;AW,\;{\beta}b]\|$(equation omitted) on the data we get the formula of condition number of the W-weighted Drazin-inverse solution of linear system. For the normwise condition number, the sensitivity of the relative condition number itself is studied, and the componentwise perturbation is also investigated.

In Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT), radiation is delivered in a multiple of Multileaf Collimator (MLC) subfields. A subfield with a small leaf-to-leaf opening is highly sensitive to a leaf-positional error. We introduce a method of identifying and rejecting IMRT plans that are highly sensitive to a systematic MLC gap error (sensitivity to possible random leaf-positional errors is not addressed here). There are two sources of a systematic MLC gap error: Centerline Mechanical Offset (CMO) and, in the case of a rounded end MLC, Radiation Field Offset (RFO). In IMRT planning system, using an incorrect value of RFO introduces a systematic error ΔRFO that results in all leaf-to-leaf gaps that are either too large or too small by (2ㆍΔRFO), whereas assuming that CMO is zero introduces systematic error ΔCMO that results in all gaps that are too large by ΔCMO = CMO. We introduce a concept of the Average Leaf Pair Opening (ALPO) that can be calculated from a dynamic MLC delivery file. We derive an analytic formula for a fractional average fluence error resulting from a systematic gap error of Δ$\chi$ and show that it is inversely proportional to ALPO; explicitly it is equal to, (equation omitted) in which $\varepsilon$ is generally of the order of 1 mm and Δx=2ㆍΔRFO+CMO. This analytic relationship is verified with independent numerical calculations.

An electromagnetic launching system presents a viable projectile propulsion alternative with low cost and minimal environmental drawbacks. A coil gun system propels a projectile using an electromagnetic force and the system is mainly employed in military weapon systems and space launch systems. In this paper, we perform optimization design to improve the muzzle velocity by analyzing the sensitivity. The muzzle velocity, which is the most important design function variable, is affected by design variables including the number of axial turns in the electromagnetic coil, number of radial turns in the electromagnetic coil, initial distance between the projectile and the coil, inner radius of the electromagnetic coil, and length of the projectile. An orthogonal arrays matrix is configured, and a finite element analysis is performed utilizing the commercial electromagnetic analysis software MAXWELL. The muzzle velocity of the optimal design is 62.4% greater than that of the initial design.

This paper proposes the fuzzy modeling and robust stability analysis of wind farm based on prediction model for wind speed. Owing to the sensitivity of wind speed, it is necessary to study the dynamic equation of the variable speed wind turbine. In this paper, based on the least-square method, the wind speed prediction model which is varied by the surrounding environment is proposed so that it is possible to evaluate the practicability of our model. And, we propose the composition of intelligent wind farm and use the fuzzy model which is suitable for the design of fuzzy controller. Finally, simulation results for wind farm which is modeled mathematically are demonstrated to visualize the feasibility of the proposed method.

As subsea production has been revived up, the demand of subsea equipment has also been increased. Among the equipment, subsea tree plays a major role in safety. The tubing hanger is one of the most important components in subsea tree. In this study structural reliability analysis on dual bore tubing hanger of subsea tree is performed. The target reliability which is introduced in ISO regulation is used for judging whether tubing hanger is safe or not. The considered loads are working pressure, working temperature and suspended tubing weight. Thermal-stress analysis on tubing hanger is performed and kriging model is created based on the results of FEM analysis. According to von Mises criterion, limit state equation can be estimated. Reliability analysis is performed by using level 2 method and the result is verified by that of Monte Carlo Simulation. For finding most probable failure point, enhanced HL-RF method is adopted. Because the reliability of model doesn't reach target reliability, an improvement measure should be considered. Thus, it is suggested to change the material of tubing hanger main body to AISI 4140.
