In many fields, Kansei engineering, often called Human Sensibility Ergonomics, has been applied to the product development for customer's satisfaction. Also, it may use to a lot of products and environments related to human's convenient life. If the measurement and the validation of human sensibility are accomplished subjectively and qualitatively, then a good design is expected. This paper considers an application of one of the Kansei engineering's techniques, extraction and categorization of the sensory words, to the products of mobile telecommunication units. First, 1st sensory words were extracted from Korean dictionary, catalogues, pamphlets, etc. Second, 2nd sensory words were extracted from the questionnaires, elimination of synonym, advise of expert, etc. Third, final sensory words were extracted from questionnaires, etc. Fourth, ask to answer the questionnaires with the extracted words in the five-grade semantic differential. Finally, The factor analysis is used to categorize the extracted sensory words, and shows that the words can be grouped into some categories.

Color selection plays a vitally important role in creating impressions of individuals or companies. This is largely because colors have sensibility aspects, which relate, in part, to images and, in part, to associations. Based on theories of color harmony and sensibility ergonomics, we have developed quantitative and systematic metrics for color images. In this paper, we suggest a color coordinate system that supports color analysis and color harmony functions using color images, which can be captured by corresponding adjectival words. We focus on a prototype system for graphical logo design to exemplify our concepts. The system can be applied to a wide variety of design domains.

This paper is concerned with structurizing contents of the ergonomic resources and constructing DB of these resources. Through this internet system developed using ultra 2 DB Server, Sun Solaris(UNIX) OS, UniSql DBMS, Apache Web server, the interface (www.gamsung.or.kr), by which ergonomic resources can be provided, has been completed. Information retrieval concerning ergonomic resources produced by the project "Business of Development in Technology of Human Sensibility Ergonomics" is possible. For example, 35 reports and 262 ergonomic characteristics issued from the first step of this project, 255 ergonomic characteristics issued from the second step. In addition, there are also voice data, sound data, expression data, questionnaire data, sensibility data, and information about researchers, manufactories, references.

본 연구에서는 한국인 인체 자료를 바탕으로 감성환경에 적용하기 위한 기계류 안전에 대한 설계 및 측정 자료의 DB를 구축하고 인간공학적으로 평가하였다. 연구 내용은 기계류 안전에 대한 국제 표준 규격(ISO 15534)과 관련된 총 23가지의 인체 치수 자료이다. 유럽인을 모집단으로 하여 측정된 표준 규격에 비해 일치하지 않거나 측정에서 누락된 한국인 자료에 대해 몇몇 가정을 통해 수정함으로써 표준 규격에 상응하는 한국인 인체 자료를 생성시키는 기법을 개발하였다.

In the past, the important factors of buying the sports shoes for the customers were price and comfort. However these days, the sports shoes are considered as a part of fashion and may not satisfy the customers because their emotional preference have not been properly considered in design phase. The customers' desire and expectation for unique design are growing. Thus, the development of sports shoes not only considering the anthropometric foot characteristics but also satisfying the customers emotional preference is needed. In this study, the basic data on the customer's emotional preference to the design of sports shoes were obtained using human sensibility ergonomics approach and formed a data base. Also, we developed ail interface that can be used for the customers to select the emotionally preferred sports shoes.

Increasing consumers' individuality and their desire of revelation, owing to accumulation of economic wealth, are making furniture designs more differentiated and various in its method and theme. Trends of contemporary furniture designs are changing from pursuing the functional efficiency of mere usage of their product in the past to satisfying the desire of consumers with full consideration of their emotional aspects, that is, the design that helps consumers communicate with products. In these trends, it is necessary to analyze the emotional factor of consumers for the examination of their emotional desire and apply its analysis to the furniture design.

본 연구는 감성공학적 접근법으로 터치 모바일 폰의 자유 드로잉 GUI 요소를 디자인 하기 위한 프로세스를 검증하는 것이 목적이다. 본 연구의 프로세스는 다음과 같이 진행되었다. 첫째, 터치폰에서 자유드로잉하는 행태를 파악하기 위하여 남 녀 대학생 57 명을 대상으로 터치폰 일기를 쓰게 하여 분석하였다. 또한 관찰 대상자가 선호하는 패션, 좋아하는 이미지를 수집하여, IRI 표준 이미지 스케일 맵에 매핑하여 감성 요소를 추출하였다. 둘째, 추출된 감성 요소는 Norman(2002)에 의거한 감각적(Visceral), 행태적(Behavioral), 심볼적(Reflective) 감성 어휘로 도출하고, 요인 분석을 통해 대표 감성 어휘를 도출하였다. 셋째, 자유 드로잉을 위한 터치 모바일폰 GUI 요소를 도출한 후 대표 감성 어휘와의 관계성을 분석하여 관계성이 높은 디자인 요소를 추출하였다. 마지막으로 추출된 대표 디자인 요소와 대표 감성 어휘는 다차원척도(Multidimensional scaling : MDS) 분석을 실시하여 2 차원 축에 모델링하고, 정량적으로 디자인에 반영될 주요 감성을 도출해본 결과 사용자의 감성적 경험을 통해 도출된 GUI 와 유사성이 높은 감성 어휘는 감성적 디자인을 할 때 주 요소로 적용 된다는 사실을 확인하였다.

Psychological action is physiological response of outernal stimulus. Physiological response is accompanied b physiological signals which are EEG, EMG, GSR, ECG, BP, and tec. Physiological signals are recently studied for determination of human phychological state. Psychological activity causes electric potential of brain. Physiological signal is considered as measurement of human psychological state. Aditory sensibility which is one of the sense of human may determine differences between positive and negative feeling. EEG and GSR variation with auditory quality of stimulus can be define human negative and positive mental state. This study is to characterize parameters which can determine negative and positive psycholigical state of human.

It is important for the strategy of product sales to investigate the consumer's sensitivity and preference degree in the environment that the process of material development has been changed focusing on the consumer renter. In the present study, we propose the Fashion Design Recommender System (FDRS) of textile design applying collaborative filtering personalization technique as one of methods in the material development centered on consumer's sensibility and preferences. In collaborative filtering personalization technique based on textile, Pearson Correlation Coefficient is used to calculate similarity weights between users. We build the database founded on the sensibility adjective to develop textile designs by extracting the representative sensibility adjective from users' sensibility and preferences about textile designs. FDRS recommends textile designs to a consumer who has a similar propensity about textile. Ultimately, this paper sugeests empirical applications to verify the adequacy and the validity on this system with the development of Fashion Design Recommender System (FDRS)

Facial expressions decide an image for the individual, and the ability to interpret emotion from facial expressions is the core of human relations, hence recognizing emotion through facial expression is important enough to change attitude and decisions between individuals within social relations. Children with unstable attachment development, seniors, autistic group, ADHD children and depression group showed low performance results in facial expression recognizing ability tasks, and active interventions with such groups anticipates possibilities of prevention and therapeutic effects for psychological disabilities. The quantified figures that show detailed change in position of lips, eyes and cheeks anticipates for possible applications in diverse fields such as human sensibility ergonomics, korean culture and art contents, therapeutical and educational applications to overcome psychological disabilities and as methods of non-verbal communication in the globalizing multicultural society to overcome cultural differences.
