Most of the previous approaches to English agreement phenomena have relied upon only one component of the grammar (e.g., either syntax, or semantics, or pragmatics). This paper argues that interrelationships among different grammatical components play crucial roles in such phenomenon too (cf. Kathol 1999 and Hudson 1999). The paper proposes that, contrary to traditional wisdom, English determiner-noun agreement is morpho-syntactic whereas subject-verb and pronoun-antecedent agreement are reflections of index agreement (cf. Pollard and Sag 1994). The present hybrid analysis of English agreement shows the importance of the interaction of different components of the grammar in accounting for English agreement phenomena. In particular, once we allow morphology to tightly interact with the system of syntax, semantics, or even pragmatics, we could provide a solution to some puzzling English agreement phenomena. This allows a more principled theory of English agreement.

This study was to analyze amenity of the port landscapes for North port, South port, and Gamcheon port in Busan. Amenity related variables came from Semantic Differential(SD) method and then were conducted by the factor analysis. Multiple regression was done for the relationship between the amenity and factors. The result found 3 factors, including dynamics, stability, and familarity. Much importance was placed on dynamics among them. Therefore, building port landscapes and their image attracting tourists should consider dynamics in terms of port landscape plan and tourist attraction development for amenity quality management.

The economic growth that depended on IT industry is reaching to a limit. In order to overcome the limit, the convergence industry that makes new market and products is essential. However, companies preparing a jump into the convergence industry must understand the exact visions and characteristics of convergence. Therefore, we investigated the structural changes of industries caused by convergence and importance characteristics of convergence. Also, we demonstrated the current status of the convergence industry and analyzed economical, social/cultural, and technological environments that the companies are facing, and elaborated the opportunities of convergence. At last, we suggested basic requirements and strategies for companies starting a convergence business and IT utilization methods to accelerate the convergence business activation.

The problem of the optimization of fuzzy relational models for dealing with (non-fuzzy) numerical data is investigated. In this context, interfaces optimization assumes particular importance, becoming a determinant factor in what concerns the overall model performance. Considering this, several scenarios for building fuzzy relational models are presented. These are: (i) optimizing I/O interfaces in advance (independently from the linguistic part of the model); (ii) optimizing I/O interfaces in advance and allowing that their optimized parameters may change during the learning of the linguistic part of the model; (iii) build simultaneously both interfaces and the linguistic subsystem; and (iv) build simultaneously both linguistic subsystem and interfaces, now subject to semantic integrity constraints. As linguistic subsystems, both a basic type and an extended versions of fuzzy relation equations are exploited in each one of these scenarios. A comparative analysis of the differ nt approaches is summarized.

Although significant progress has been made in synthesizing visually realistic face images by Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), there still lacks effective approaches to provide fine-grained control over the generation process for semantic facial attribute editing. In this work, we propose a novel cross channel self-attention based generative adversarial network (CCA-GAN), which weights the importance of multiple channels of features and archives pixel-level feature alignment and conversion, to reduce the impact on irrelevant attributes while editing the target attributes. Evaluation results show that CCA-GAN outperforms state-of-the-art models on the CelebA dataset, reducing Fréchet Inception Distance (FID) and Kernel Inception Distance (KID) by 15~28% and 25~100%, respectively. Furthermore, visualization of generated samples confirms the effect of disentanglement of the proposed model.

Why are there semantic difficulties in the jargon, design management\ulcorner A series of changes in the meaning of design management during 40 years. since the beginning of 1950s when the term was used officially in the U.K., has been studied through a set of annotated bibliography. As a result, it is identified that such semantic confusions have been situated in relation to the shift in the emphasis on design management as a narrow sense of design - a broad sense of design - strategic management. This may imply that design management becomes an intrinsic part of corporate management in line with the increasing importance of design in the success of business.

In this paper, we propose a new methodology for extracting and formalizing subjective topics at a specific time using a set of keywords extracted automatically from online news articles. To do this, we first extracted a set of keywords by applying TF-IDF methods selected by a series of comparative experiments on various statistical weighting schemes that can measure the importance of individual words in a large set of texts. In order to effectively calculate the semantic relation between extracted keywords, a set of word embedding vectors was constructed by using about 1,000,000 news articles collected separately. Individual keywords extracted were quantified in the form of numerical vectors and clustered by K-means algorithm. As a result of qualitative in-depth analysis of each keyword cluster finally obtained, we witnessed that most of the clusters were evaluated as appropriate topics with sufficient semantic concentration for us to easily assign labels to them.

The recently published papers and essays regarding 'tectonic' bring us to rumination of its importance on comprehending modern architectural process. Many architectural theorists may seem to seek the substance of architecture through the discussion of 'tectonic' for the purpose of overcoming the dilemma of representation which can be easily found in modern architectural forms. Their emphasizing on its double-faced aspect as the manner of representation, that is semantic and aesthetic, may imply the significance of philosophical approach especially to the recent architectural phenomena. From this point, it ought to be meaningful to manifest etymological connection between the terms with semantic analysis and interpret the substance and ontological meaning of 'tectonic' referring Martin Heidegger's existential philosophy. Besides the works of Carlo Scarpa, that are known as the art of making, are exampled to prove the way how the ontological meaning of practical act is exposed on an artwork. The idea of 'tectonic' connotes not only technological aspect as construction of form and space, but also ontological aspect as joint or detail, that is the result of logos. The 'tectonic' means etymologically 'joint' having double-meaning structure, technology and aesthetics. It means 'detail' as minimum units of architectural form and as sites where making relationship or connection takes place in the way of ontological apprehension. The 'detail' as the place of innovation and invention implies the culture of an area, and expresses craftsmanship, which modem architecture buries in oblivion. This study aims to deviate from the aesthetical commercialization in which the modern architecture tends to fall, and further, propose the possible way to succeed traditional locality in an epistemological point of view.

This study describes the semantic theoretic interpretation through the extensive use of semantic metaphors for intensive web interface with information and the metaphoric value of metaphors for interface design. Common factors that influence web design are empirical establishment and verification for generating web symbols and these are have important elemental perspectives that are used to assess the usefulness and key elements of the site. In addition, the structure of the screen has begun to change dynamically from the application of web technological functions, and the media functions have become important to make web standards when implementing visual structuring from the perspective of semiotic. Instead of using a technical expression approach to examine semiotic, a semiotic approach is applied to create aesthetic codes through the human-computer interface in terms of semiotic in a variety of natural and universal fields. Based on this, it is used as means of communication to convey the intended meaning to users so as to highlight the importance of the usability issues and metaphors user interface.

In order to acquire new information and biological meaning of the signal data by defining the relationships between them, new modeling technique, ontology, has been proposed. The data of bio-signal can be represented as a systematic and logical to manage continuously bio-signal data using ontology. Furthermore, knowledge of which resources are utilized to provide improved service quality in medical information, health services in various fields. However, relevant studies have not been performed actively to compare importance of relationships between bio-signals. Therefore semantic representation of biometric information should be by defining the relationship between bio-signals. In this paper, we have developed bio-signal ontology to use as a model for using domain knowledge. We verified the usefulness of the ontology by using scenarios.
