  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between glucose control, diabetes self-care and depression in community dwelling older adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: The cross-sectional survey data of 148 older adults at a senior center were analyzed in this study. We collected data on diabetes self-care, depression, and demographics by face-to-face interviews. Blood samples for HbA1C were obtained from the participants. Results: The average duration of diabetes for the participants was $10.6{\pm}9.31$ years. Fifty percent of the participants had HbA1c higher than 7.0% (mean 7.179%). The level of diabetes self-care was related to depression (r=-.225, p<.01). HbA1c was positively related with the duration of diabetes diagnosis (r=.224, p<.01). The only sub-dimension of diabetes self-care that was related to depression was exercise (r=-.307, p<.01). Conclusion: Only half of the community dwelling older adults with type 2 diabetes had an optimal level of diabetes control. Supported by the evidence, the longer the duration of diabetes since the initial diagnosis, the poorer the glucose control was. Identification and intervention for depression in people with diabetes should be considered to improve diabetes self-care, especially to perform more exercise.

  • This paper proposes a face recognition method using feature spaces and image vectors in the image plane. We obtain the 2-D feature space using the self-organizing map which has two inputs from the axis of the given image. The image vector consists of its weights and the average gray levels in the feature space. Also, we can reconstruct an normalized face by using the image vector having no connection with the size of the given face image. In the proposed method, each face is recognized with the best match of the feature spaces and the maximum match of the normally retrieval face images, respectively. For enhancing recognition rates, our method combines the two recognition methods by the feature spaces and the retrieval images. Simulations are conducted on the ORL(Olivetti Research laboratory) images of 40 persons, in which each person has 10 facial images, and the result shows 100% recognition and 14.5% rejection rates for the 20$\times$20 feature sizes and the 24$\times$28 retrieval image size.

Methods: From June 1 to June 24, 2022, a self-entry survey was conducted on students enrolled in the dental hygiene department of D University in Daegu. To evaluate the non-face-to-face online learning satisfaction and sleep quality of the study subjects using the lBM SPSS Statistics 21 program, ANOVA analysis was conducted on the difference between individual stress levels and non-face-to-face online learning satisfaction. The correlation between sleep quality, stress, and non-face-to-face online learning satisfaction was analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: The lower the quality of sleep, the higher the stress, resulting in statistically significant results (p<0.001). The higher the quality of sleep, the higher the learning satisfaction, resulting in statistically significant results (p<0.001). There was a statistically significant positive correlation between learning satisfaction and stress (r=0.591, p<0.01). Conciussions: Through the above results, in order to improve the satisfaction of non-face-to-face online learning, it is necessary to manage the individual's learning environment and health to relieve stress. Instructors also need to communicate with learners and apply teaching methods considering learners' academic abilities.

  • In this study, an augmented reality-based make-up tool was built to analyze the user's face shape based on face-type reference model data and to provide virtual makeup by providing face-type makeup. To analyze the face shape, first recognize the face from the image captured by the camera, then extract the features of the face contour area and use them as analysis properties. Next, the feature points of the extracted face contour area are normalized to compare with the contour area characteristics of each face reference model data. Face shape is predicted and analyzed using the distance difference between the feature points of the normalized contour area and the feature points of the each face-type reference model data. In augmented reality-based virtual makeup, in the image input from the camera, the face is recognized in real time to extract the features of each area of the face. Through the face-type analysis process, you can check the results of virtual makeup by providing makeup that matches the analyzed face shape. Through the proposed system, We expect cosmetics consumers to check the makeup design that suits them and have a convenient and impact on their decision to purchase cosmetics. It will also help you create an attractive self-image by applying facial makeup to your virtual self.

  • This study aims to investigate the usage patterns of users in Social Network Services (SNS) where is an upsurge. Specifically, the paper considers the reason why young people more and more prefer online (or mobile) SNS activities rather than offline face-to-face social relationship. Furthermore, the drivers which affect SNS usages are considered from users' personal characteristics and social influences. User's personal characteristics include their personalities (extraversion and introversion), narcissism, and life satisfaction. Social influences involve subjective norm, visibility, and image. Affected by personal and social factors in SNS, users intend to show positive self-presentation, which refers to a behavior to selectively expose his/her goodness to others. As one of the most influential drivers affecting SNS usage, the positive self-representation has an effect on the level of SNS usage. Thus, this paper suggests the hypothesized research model focusing on positive self-representation in the relationship among personal characteristics, social influence, and user's behavior in SNS. Empirical data analysis with 100 questionnaires suggests that all hypotheses were adopted except for the effect of visibility among social influence factors on positive self-representation.
