노인들의 사회경제적 수준과 건강수준, 건강행태와의 관계 (The Relations of Socioeconomic Status to Health Status, Health Behaviors in the Elderly)

  • Objectives: To analyze the relationships of socioeconomic status(SES) to health status and health behaviors in the elderly. Methods: Data were obtained from self-administered questionnaire of 4,587 persons, older than 65 years, living in a community. We measured the sociodemographic characteristics, socioeconomic status, health status (subjective health status, acute disease, admission experience, dental state, chronic disease etc.), activities of daily living (ADL), instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), and mini-mental state examination-Korean (MMSEK). Binary and multinominal logistic regression analyses were employed to analyze factors affecting on the socioeconomic status of the elderly. Results: With regard to the SES and health status, those with a low SES had poorer subjective health states and lower satisfaction about their physical health. Also, acute disease experiences, admission rates and tooth deciduation rates were higher in those of low SES. In the view of physical and cognitive functions, the ADL, IADL and MMSE-K scores were also lower in those of low SES. However, with regard to health behaviors, lower smoking and alcohol drinking rates were found in the low SES group, and a similar trend was shown with regular physical exercise, eating breakfast, and regular physical health check-up. From these findings, we surmise that those with low SES have a poorer health condition and less money to spend on health, therefore, they can not smoke or drink alcohol, exercise and or have a physical health check-up. Conclusion: This study suggests that socioeconomic status plays an important role in health behaviors and status of the elderly. Low socioeconomic status bring about unhealthy behavior and poor health status in the elderly. Therefore, more specific target oriented(esp. low SES persons) health promotion activities for the elderly are very important to improve not only their health status, but their health inequity also.

독일의 유기축산에 의한 젖소사육 현황과 무리나라의 발전 방향 (Milk Production of Dairy Cattle from Organic Farming in Germany and Development Trends in Korea)

  • 환경오염, 자연파괴와 자연순환원리에 의한 가축사육이 되지 않는 원인에 따른 광우병, 구제역 발생으로 현대축산에 대한 비판 이 제기되고 있다. 동물약품의 발달에도 불구하고 위험한 전염병은 사라지지 않고 있고 방제가 어려워지고 있다 독일에서는 20여년 전부터 이와 같은 현대축산의 문제점을 해소하기 위하여 환경과 조화를 이루는 유기축산이 연구되고 있으며 정부에서도 기업농 형태의 농장체계를 소규모 유기농 체제로 개편하고 있는 실정이다. 독일의 경우 1950년부터 1990년까지 산유량은 152% 증가한데 비하여 번식장애는 233%, 질병 발생은 200-300% 증가한 것으로 보고되었다. 이러한 원인은 사육환경의 불량, 부적절한 사료공급, 가축 병 발생증가에 원인이 있는 것으로 지적되고 있다. 유기축산에 의한 젖소사육의 중요한 기준은 지역 및 농장에서의 물질순환 구조로 자가사료 생산에 의한 토양-식물-가축의 통합된 순환농법을 이루는 것이다. 따라서 우리나라 축산물의 품질향상과 질병방지와 지속적인 저투입 축산을 위한 한국형 유기축산에 의한 젖소사육의 모델 설정이 요구된다 또한 국제적인 유기식품 규격인 Codex 규정과 부합하는 우리나라의 유기축산 모델설정이 필요하다

Cable-pulley brace to improve story drift distribution of MRFs with large openings

  • This study aims to introduce a new bracing system by which even super-wide frames with large openings can be braced. The proposed system, hereafter called Cable-Pulley Brace (CPB), is a tension-only bracing system with a rectilinear configuration. In CPB, a wire rope passes through a rectilinear path around the opening(s) and connects the lower corner of the frame to its opposite upper one. CPB is a secondary load resisting system with a nonlinear-elastic hysteretic behavior due to its initial pre-tension load. As a result, the required energy dissipation would be provided by the MRF itself, and the main intention of using CPB is to contribute to the initial and post-yield stiffness of the whole system. Using a stiffness calibration technique, optimum placement of the CPBs is discussed to yield a uniform displacement demand along the height of the structure. A displacement-based design procedure is proposed by which the MRF with CPB can be designed to achieve a uniform distribution of inter-story drifts with predefined values. Obtained results indicated that CPB leads to significant reductions in maximum and residual deformations of the MRF at the expense of minor increase in the maximum base shear and developed axial force demands in the columns. In the case of a typical 5-story residential building, compared to SMRF system, CPB system reduces maximum amounts of inter-story and residual drifts by 35% and 70%, respectively. Moreover, openings of the frame are not interrupted by the CPB. This is the most appealing feature of the proposed bracing system from architectural point of view.

협력적 멘토링 과정에서 나타난 멘토의 어려움 분석 (An Analysis on Mentor Teacher's Difficulties during Collaborative Mentoring Program)

  • 이 연구에서는 과학교사 수업 전문성 향상을 위한 협력적 멘토링 프로그램 과정에서 멘토가 겪는 어려움을 알아보았다. 수업전문성 향상을 위한 멘토링 연수에 참가한 현직 중등과학교사 일곱 쌍(14명)을 선정하였다. 연구에 활용한 자료는 멘토링에 대한 전반적인 인식을 알아보기 위한 설문지, 멘토의 효능감을 알아보기 위한 설문지, 멘토링 관련 인터뷰 녹화본과 전사본, 멘토 협의회 녹화본 및 전사본, 멘토 저널 등을 수집하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해 협력적 멘토링 과정에서 멘토는 멘티와 전공이나 학교 급이 다른 경우, 학교에서 맡은 과다한 업무로 인하여 멘토링에 어려움을 나타냈다. 또한 멘토링 초반 멘토로서의 전문성 부족으로 인한 낮은 자신감을 나타냈으며, 일부 멘토는 멘티와 정서적 유대 관계를 형성하는 것에 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 멘토와 멘티의 멘토링에 대한 관점에 차이가 있는 경우에도 멘토링 진행에 어려움이 있었다.

배수개선사업(排水改善事業)의 경제적효과분석(經濟的效果分析) (A Study on Economic Impacts of Drainage Projects)

  • This study is aimed at identifying the economic effects of drainage improvement projects. The total area of poor drainage is equivalent to 170,000ha, 13% of the total area of paddy field in Korea. The development of poor drained paddy is an urgent problem considering the low rate of self-sufficiency of food grain and the limitation of farmer's income increase. Rapid development of Korean economy has brought labor shoriage in rural farming sector. Accordingly farm mechanization is an important agricultural policy to hike labor productivity and to save production costs of rice farming. The expected economic benefits of the drainage improvement project are derived from increasing land productivity, expanding double cropped area and farming the farm mechanization base in paddy fields. The economic and financial rate of return of the project are considered very important decision making criteria for project implementation by resource allocation. Therefore this study covered benefit and cost analysis of the sampled area, the estimated financial rate of returns in $Buy{\check{o}}$ and Jinsung are represented 15% and 51% respectively and the economic rate of returns in both project area are also showing 1% and 26% respectively. The rate of return of the projects has showed an outstanding variance according to the locational and natural characteristics of the project area. As showing the above economic rate of return, $Buy{\check{o}}$ is very low Jinsung is very high. But the financial rate of return of both projects are considered comparatively high. Cosequently, the drainage improvement projects should be promoted from the view point of farm income increase to make narrow the income gap between rural and urban incomes and farm mechanization to solve labor shortage in the rural area.

Development of Software Education Program Using Robot for Students with Developmental Disorder

  • 소프트웨어 교육이 가지는 교육적 효과와 사회적 변화로 미루어 볼 때 일반 학생, 장애 학생 구분 없이 소프트웨어 교육에 대한 평등한 기회가 필요하다. 그러나 현재 일반 학생을 대상으로 한 소프트웨어 교육 관련 연구는 활발하게 이뤄지고 있으나, 장애 학생을 대상으로 한 소프트웨어 교육 관련 연구는 미비하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 발달 장애 학생을 대상으로 한 로봇 활용 소프트웨어 교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 발달 장애 학생을 대상으로 한 로봇 활용 소프트웨어 교육 프로그램 개발은 모두를 위한 소프트웨어 교육 기회 확대라는 측면에서 의미가 있다. 또한 과제 집중력이 낮고 단기 기억력이 부족하며 사회성이 다소 떨어지는 특성을 가진 발달 장애 학생들에게 로봇을 활용한 소프트웨어 교육 프로그램은 교구를 활용한다는 점에서 동기 유발이 용이하며, 발달 장애 학생들의 학업 성취도 개선 및 자기 관리 능력 신장 뿐 아니라 자아 효능감, 자신감 등 정의적인 부분에서도 유의미한 변화가 있을 것이다.

한국의 전기비저항탐사 (Electrical Resistivity Methods in Korea)

  • 비록 2차 세계대전 이전에 자연전위가 관측되었다는 기록도 있기는 하지만, 한국에서 대전 이후 서서히 발전하던 전기탐사가 본격적으로 보급된 것은 1980년대 이후의 일이다. 다른 선진국과 달리 한국의 경우 전기비저항법을 환경문제보다 토목 건설 문제에 상대적으로 더 많이 적용하고 있다. 다른 모든 기술분야와 마찬가지로 반도체산업의 발전은 자료 수집과 잡음 감쇄처리에서 혁신을 가져왔으며, 지난 25년 동안 전기비저항 자료의 수집, 처리 및 해석에 있어서 두드러진 발전이 있었다. 평활화제약 모델에 의한 2차원 전기비저항 역산의 개발은 지난 40년 동안 물리탐사 자료해석에서 가장 현저한 변화 중 하나이며, 지금은 겉보기비저항 자료에 일반적으로 적용되고 있다. 전기비저항 분포를 가단면도가 아니라 단면도로 나타낼 수 있게 된 것은 자료해석에 혁신을 가져왔다. 일반적인 전자기 문제에서는 감도 계산을 위해 대단히 많은 전진 모델링을 필요로 하지만, 전기비저항법에서는 전류원과 수신점이 같은 위치를 차지하기 때문에 계산효율이 높아서 이전에는 처리하기 어려웠던 3차원 역산도 이제는 가능해졌다.

Human Spatial Cognition Using Visual and Auditory Stimulation

  • This paper deals with human spatial cognition using visual and auditory stimulation. More specially, this investigation is to observe the relationship between the head and the eye motor system for the localization of visual target direction in space and to try to describe what is the role of right-side versus left-side pinna. In the experiment of visual stimulation, nineteen red LEDs (Luminescent Diodes, Brightness: $210\;cd/^2$) arrayed in the horizontal plane of the surrounding panel are used. Here the LEDs are located 10 degrees apart from each other. Physiological parameters such as EOG (Electro-Oculography), head movement, and their synergic control are measured by BIOPAC system and 3SPACE FASTRAK. In the experiment of auditory stimulation, one side of the pinna function was distorted intentionally by inserting a short tube in the ear canal. The localization error caused by right and left side pinna distortion was investigated as well. Since a laser pointer showed much less error (0.5%) in localizing target position than FASTRAK (30%) that has been generally used, a laser pointer was used for the pointing task. It was found that harmonic components were not essential for auditory target localization. However, non-harmonic nearby frequency components was found to be more important in localizing the target direction of sound. We have found that the right pinna carries out one of the most important functions in localizing target direction and pure tone with only one frequency component is confusing to be localized. It was also found that the latency time is shorter in self moved tracking (SMT) than eye alone tracking (EAT) and eye hand tracking (EHT). These results can be used in further study on the characterization of human spatial cognition.

병원의 조직성과 결정요인 (Determinants of Organizational Performance in the Christian Hospitals)

  • This study relates to the problems of organizational performance in the Christian hospitals. In this study, quality of working life (QOWL), which harmonizes individual as well as organizational goals, was used as an indicator of organizational performance from the open systems view. In order to identify the behavioral factors influencing QOWL in hospitals, self-administered questionnaires were distributed to 1,926 employees who were randomly selected from fifteen Christian hospitals from August 1 to August 30, 1986. The following results were obtained: 1) All correlation coefficients between QOWL and behavioral variables were statistically significant even though their magnitude varied according to hospital size. 2) Using factor analysis, 32 variables were parsimoniously grouped into four factors: individual conflicts, group behavior, organizational characteristics and situation, and job characteristics. The proportion of variance explained by these factors ranged from 33.5% to 38.6% according to hospital size. 3) The overall effects of the four factors in the multiple logistic models ranged from 0.85 to 3.12 according to hospital size. Among three hospital models, the model for small hospitals showed the best statistical fit. 4) The most influential factor was organizational characteristics and situation with an odds ratio ranging from 1.99 to 3.02. Again, the odds ratio was the highest for small hospitals. 5) For large hospitals, the two main factor effects were statistically significant: organizational characteristics and situation, and job characteristics. For medium hospitals, all main factor effects except job characteristics were statistically significant. For small hospitals, all main factor effects except group behavior were statistically significant. However, a factor interaction effect was shown only for large hospitals where it was statistically significant. 6) To examine whether the four factors influence financial performance, the four factor scores from the two financial performance groups were compared using Mann-Whitney test. The test results showed that the organizational characteristics and situation factor score was significantly different only for small hospitals.

광각 영상을 위한 ELBP 분류기를 이용한 초해상도 기법과 CUDA 기반 가속화 (CUDA Acceleration of Super-Resolution Algorithm Using ELBP Classifier for Fisheye Images)

  • 최근 어라운드 뷰 모니터링 시스템이나 보안 시스템 등에서는 광각 카메라를 이용하여 사용자에게 영상을 제공하고 있다. 광각 카메라로 촬영된 영상은 보다 넓은 범위의 장면을 제공하는 장점이 있으나 영상에 왜곡이 존재하고 특히 영상 외곽 부분은 초점이 맞지 않아 영상의 선명도가 저하되는 단점이 존재한다. 따라서 광각 영상에 대하여 초해상도 기법을 적용할 경우 영상 외곽에서의 블러 영향이 그대로 남아 있어 고해상도 영상의 선명도가 저하되고 아티팩트가 발생하는 등 결과적으로 초해상도 기법의 성능 저하로 이어진다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 자기 유사성 기반의 전처리 기법을 적용하여 영상 외곽부에서의 화질 저하를 개선하고자 한다. 추가로 전체 알고리즘에 대하여 GPU 환경에서의 가속화를 수행하여 알고리즘의 가속성을 확인한다.
