  • In this paper, we propose a robust detection scheme of OSTBCs with channel estimation errors over time-selective fading channels. Channel estimation errors are inevitable over time-selective fading channels and even small channel estimation errors dramatically degrade the performance of space-time block coding schemes. Therefore, it is desired to investigate the effect of channel estimation errors on the performance of the proposed detection scheme compared with the existing detection scheme. The proposed detection scheme minimizes noise enhancement and impact of channel estimation errors which occur in an existing detection scheme. It is shown by simulations that the proposed detection scheme performs better than the existing detection scheme over time-selective fading channels.

  • We reported the result of driving PDP's in selective erase scheme and three wall charge states. Compared to the selective write driving scheme, the selective erase scheme achieved flicker free half-ON state with much simpler driving waveforms than the selective write scheme. We believed that this improvement was possible since the cells entering the address period with enough wall charges to modulate easily with.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient and effective selective protection scheme to SVC that exploit the propagation of protection effect by protecting significant frames that can give the maximum visual quality degradation. We model SVC dependency coding structure as a directed acyclic graph which is characterized with an estimated visual quality value as the attribute at each node. The estimated visual quality is calculated by using our model based on the proportions of intra- and inter-predicted MBs, amounts of residual, and estimated visual quality of reference frames. The proposed selective protection scheme traverses the graph to find optimal protection paths that can give maximum visual quality degradation. Experimental results show that the proposed selective protection scheme reduces the required number of frames to be protected by 46.02% compared to the whole protection scheme and 27.56% compared to the layered protection scheme.

  • This paper presents a 500MHz 1.1㎱ 32kb synchronous CMOS SRAM macro using $0.35\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS technology. In order to operate at high frequency and reduce power dissipation, the designed SRAM macro is realized with optimized decoder, multi-point sense amplifier(MPSA), selective precharge scheme and etc. Optimized decorder and MPSA respectively reduce 50% and 40% of delay time. Also, a selective precharge scheme reduces 80% of power dissipation in that part.

  • The fundamental problem of selective protection scheme for encoded bitstreams is to find an efficient algorithm to select the set of frames required to be encrypted that can maximize protection effect with the minimum amount of protected data is required. In this paper, we propose an optimal selective protection scheme for SVC bitstreams by protecting the best combination of frames for selective protection in the sense that the amount of data required for protection is minimized and the resulting visual quality degradation is maximized. The selection of the frames to be encrypted is done by first expressing R-Q (protection rate - visual quality) relationship with Lagragian cost model. The experimental results show that, compared to protecting SVC bitstreams layer by layer, the proposed scheme gives superior performance in terms of protection effectiveness due to its better selection of frames for protection given protection bit budgets.

  • This paper addresses a cooperative transmission scheme based on Alamouti coding for cognitive radio networks over frequency selective fading channels. In the proposed scheme, the Alamouti coded form at the destination node is constructed through a simple combination of symbols at the source node, instead of the time-reversal operation and the conjugate operation at the relay nodes used in the conventional scheme. Numerical results show that the proposed scheme achieves a higher order cooperative diversity than that of the conventional scheme.

  • In this paper, We propose the selective detection scheme based on pulse repetition considering Bit Error Rate (BER) performance and complexity of noncoherent Ultra Wide Band (UWB) systems. To consider system complexity, the proposed scheme transmits the UWB signals by pulse repetition at the transmitter, like the conventional Pulse Repetition Coding (PRC). However, to effectively improve BER performance of the system the proposed scheme performs selective detection by estimating the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of the received pulse-repeated signal at the receiver. Hence, the proposed scheme effectively improves BER performance of the noncoherent UWB systems without increase of the system complexity, as compared to the conventional PRC algorithm.

  • Performance of conventional PN acquisition schemes deteriorates when it is used in a fading channel. A new modified PN acquisition scheme is proposed to improve that performance in a frequency-selective fading channel. Simulation is used for verifying the performance which shows that the new scheme outper-forms the convention PN acquisition scheme using similar hardware.

  • Fuzzy identity-based cryptography introduces the threshold structure into identity-based cryptography, changes the receiver of a ciphertext from exact one to dynamic many, makes a cryptographic scheme more efficient and flexible. In this paper, we propose the first fuzzy identity-based signcryption scheme in lattice-based cryptography. Firstly, we give a fuzzy identity-based signcryption scheme that is indistinguishable against chosen plaintext attack under selective identity model. Then we apply Fujisaki-Okamoto method to obtain a fuzzy identity-based signcryption scheme that is indistinguishable against adaptive chosen ciphertext attack under selective identity model. Thirdly, we prove our scheme is existentially unforgeable against chosen message attack under selective identity model. As far as we know, our scheme is the first fuzzy identity-based signcryption scheme that is secure even in the quantum environment.

  • Transmit diversity using STBC(Space Time Block Code) provides the same diversity gain as MRRC(Maximal Ratio Receiver Combining), when the fading channel is constant across two consecutive symbols. But, when the channel condition is changed for the two consecutive symbols, the transmit diversity using STBC does not offer good performance due to the large doppler shift. In this paper, we have proposed a interference cancellation scheme for performance enhancement in transmit diversity using STBC over time selective fading channel. Simulation results for various doppler shift rates are presented for the transmit diversity using the proposed scheme.
