A reducing variation of quality characteristics is a typical example of quality improvement. In such a case, we treat the quality characteristic, as a response variable and need to find active factors affecting the response from many candidate factors since reducing the variation of the response will be achieved by reducing variation of the active factors. In this paper, we first derive a method of selecting an active factor by linear regression. It is well known that correlation between factors deteriorates the precision of estimators. We, therefore, examine robustness of the selecting method against the correlation in the data set and derive an evaluation method of the deterioration brought by the correlation. Furthermore, some examples of selecting and evaluation methods are shown to demonstrate practical usage of the methods.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the structural relationships among selection attributes, satisfaction, and loyalty of green tea consumers, including their moderating effect of involvement. Questionnaires were administered to residents of Seoul and Gyeonggi-do province, who were 20 years old and older and who had purchased green tea. A total of 700 questionnaires were distributed, and 658 were finally used in the analysis. SPSS 15.0 and LISREL 8.80 were used for the analysis. Selection attributes had a significant effect on satisfaction, and statistical significance was observed with regard to factors such as marketing, production, sensory evaluation, and brand. No significant direct effect was observed between selection attributes and loyalty. Additionally, satisfaction had a significant effect on loyalty. The marketing factor had a negative effect on satisfaction in both the low- and high-involvement groups. The brand factor had a positive effect on satisfaction in the low involvement group, suggesting that developing and promoting a popular brand is essential. Sensory and utility factors had a positive effect on satisfaction in the high involvement group.

For the realization of the national self-defense, the trend of the defense R&D projects becomes global and diverse with the increase of their budget. Thus, for the effective execution of the budget and the successful performance of the projects, the importance of selection, management and evaluation of the R&D projects is emphasized. This study suggests the applicability of a meta-evaluation model for the realization of the successful defense R&D project evaluation system. This study focused on the development of the meta-evaluation model design which can be applicable to the national defense R&D projects. Using the proposed meta-evaluation model, we propose a technique to enhance the fairness and the reliability of the national defense R&D projects evaluation system.

In the paper of 'Natural Selection Favors AIs over Humans,' Dan Hendrycks applies principles of Darwinian evolution to forecast potential trajectories of AI development. He proposes that competitive pressures within corporate and military realms could lead to AI replacing human roles and exhibiting self-interested behaviors. However, such claims carry the risk of oversimplifying the complex issues of competition and natural selection without clear criteria for judging whether AI is selfish or altruistic, necessitating a more in-depth analysis and critique. Other studies, such as ''The Threat of AI and Our Response: The AI Charter of Ethics in South Korea,' offer diverse opinions on the natural selection of artificial intelligence, examining major threats that may arise from AI, including AI's value judgment and malicious use, and emphasizing the need for immediate discussions on social solutions. Such contemplation is not merely a technical issue but also significant from an ethical standpoint, requiring thoughtful consideration of how the development of AI harmonizes with human welfare and values. It is also essential to emphasize the importance of cooperation between artificial intelligence and humans. Hendrycks's work, while speculative, is supported by historical observations of inevitable evolution given the right conditions, and it prompts deep contemplation of these issues, setting the stage for future research focused on AI safety, regulation, and ethical considerations.

In this paper, we deal with developing a cost estimation relationships (CER) for Korean maneuverable weapons systems using historical production cost. To develop the CER, we collected the historical data of the production cost of four tanks and five armored vehicles. We also analyzed the Required Operational Capability (ROC) of the weapons systems and chose cost drivers that can compare operational capabilities of the weapons systems We used Forward selection, Backward selection, Stepwise Regression and $R^2$ selection as the cost drivers which have the greatest influence with the dependent variables. And we used Principle Component Regression, Robust Regression and Weighted Regression to deal with multicollinearity and outlier among the data to develop a more appropriate CER. As a result, we were able to develop a production cost CER for Korean maneuverable weapons systems that have the lowest cost errors. Thus, this research is meaningful in terms of developing a CER based on Korean original cost data without foreign data and these methods will contribute to developing a Korean cost analysis program in the future.

This paper provides an analytic performance evaluation of the bit error rate (BER) of underlay decode-and-forward cognitive networks with best relay selection over Rayleigh multipath fading channels. A generalized BER expression valid for arbitrary operational parameters is firstly presented in the form of a single integral, which is then employed for determining the diversity order and coding gain for different best relay selection scenarios. Furthermore, a novel and highly accurate closed-form approximate BER expression is derived for the specific case where relays are located relatively close to each other. The presented results are rather convenient to handle both analytically and numerically, while they are shown to be in good agreement with results from respective computer simulations. In addition, it is shown that as in the case of conventional relaying networks, the behaviour of underlay relaying cognitive networks with best relay selection depends significantly on the number of involved relays.

In this paper, we propose a new method of path planning for autonomous mobile robot in mapped circumstance. To search the optimal path, we adopt the genetic algorithm which is based on the natural mechanics of selection, crossover and mutation. We propose a method for generating the path population, selection and evaluation in genetic algorithm. Simulations show the efficiency for the global path planning, if we adopt the proposed GA method

As port functions change to act as an economic catalyst and take on a central position in industries engaged in international trade, port hinterland has become a significant component in international shipping. The success of port hinterland as a strategic base of logistic activities critically depends on location selection factor for international distribution center that links elements of global supply chain management. By examining multi-measurement items empirically, this paper analyzed location selection factor for international logistics distribution center in port hinterland, and evaluated Busan new port hinterland from the user's perspective. Employing exploratory factor analysis, the results revealed that the model structured around five factors incorporating geo-location and accessibility, availability, political supports, cost factors, and quality of business environment is valid and reliable in the context of the location selection factors for logistics distribution center in the context of port hinterland operations. The evaluation of Busan new port hinterland provides useful insights for strategic improvement to accommodate the users' expectation. Further, the model offers both a descriptive and diagnostic strategic management tool for port hinterland development and operations, to guide future improvement.

The purpose of this study is to present the rational decision process for new ward office building site. AHP Technique used in this study considers both quantitative and qualitative factors on the basis of decision maker's intuitive, reasonable or unreasonable judgement by giving weight through mutual comparision of publicity factors. The evaluaion factors were refer to another five ward office there were executed these kinds of new site selection before. These standards are composed of 6 middle groups and classified into 9 detailed standards. Alternative building sites are five places in this district. The final evauation standards are Accessibility, Urban Expansion Possibility. Distrct balance, Environment, Financing. Development easiness. And It became clear that the priority of evaluation is Financing > Urban expansion > Accessibility > Development easiness > District balance > Environment. In conclusion, it was determined that alternative " E " is the most adequate place for new ward office building.

A journal listed by the Thompson Reuters for Scientific Citation Index Expended(SCIE) is important to be recognized internationally. There is no domestic journal related the exercise or sports discipline in spite of some domestic journals related other disciplines are recently listed in the SCIE. To be listed our Korean Journal of Exercise Nutrition(KJEN) on the SCIE, it is important to satisfy the criteria of SCIE. The criteria for journal evaluation and selection by Thompson Reuters include four main aspects. Evaluation of basic journal standards include timeliness of publication, international editorial conventions, bibliographic information in English and application of the peer review process. The editorial contents, international diversity and citation analysis are also evaluated. This study will propose the key points for listing the KJEN at SCIE journal.
