Cooperative Strategies and Swarm Behavior in Distributed Autonomous Robotic Systems Based on Artificial Immune System (인공 면역계 기반 자율분산로봇 시스템의 협조 전략과 군행동)

  • In this paper, we propose a method of cooperative control (T-cell modeling) and selection of group behavior strategy (B-cell modeling) based on immune system in distributed autonomous robotic system (DARS). An immune system is the living bodys self-protection and self-maintenance system. these features can be applied to decision making of the optimal swarm behavior in a dynamically changing environment. For applying immune system to DARS, a robot is regarded as a B-cell, each environmental condition as an antigen, a behavior strategy as an antibody, and control parameter as a T-cell, respectively. When the environmental condition (antigen) changes, a robot selects an appropriate behavior strategy (antibody). And its behavior strategy is stimulated and suppressed by other robots using communication (immune network). Finally, much stimulated strategy is adopted as a swarm behavior strategy. This control scheme is based on clonal selection and immune network hypothesis, and it is used for decision making of the optimal swarm strategy. Adaptation ability of the robot is enhanced by adding T-cell model as a control parameter in dynamic environments.

A Traveling Control System with the X-Y Table Actuator for Unmanned Operation in the Greenhouse (시설재배용 무인작업기를 위한 X-Y 테이블형 이동 시스템 개발)

  • In this study. a traveling control system was developed to transfer a machine without an operator in the working zone. The dimension of the system was modelized to design and construct smaller than that of real configuration of a greenhouse. For this system, the fixed path type was used to detect exact position during operating a manless machine. and the X-Y table actuator type to escape a unique path, which had the disadvantage in a fixed path type environment. Based on the results of this research the following conclusions were made : 1. This system used two screws to move toward horizontal direction, and a Plate to reach at any points in the working zone. 2. The software combined the functions of path selection and motor operation to control into one program. The path selection program was a menu driven program written in Visual Basic, and the motor operation program was written in Borland C++ for actuating motors. 3. The path-select mode of the program was used by selecting the desired paths, and the user path-create mode by selecting a random path in the path-selection program. 4. The system proved to be a reliable system for operating a manless machine, since accuracy and precision to reach the positions were less than 1%.

  • This paper proposes an antenna selection and switching system between spatial multiplexing and diversity techniques. The proposed system overcomes spatial correlation by using antenna selection method and improve bit error performance with switching encoding nudes between a spatial multipexing encoder and a diversity encoder. Therefore, in a 4 transmit and 2 receive antenna system first, the proposed system selects 2 transmit antennas, and next, switches encoding modes between Space-Time Transmit Diversity and BLAST according to instantaneous channel information. Computer simulations showed that the proposed system improves about 2 or 3 ㏈ SNR in low correlated channel and about 3 ㏈ SNR in highly correlated channel rather than a 2 by 2 antenna switching system.

  • this paper, to represent the robot motion approximately in space, delas with algorithm for position recognition of space robot, target and obstacle with vision system in 2-D. And also there are algorithms for precise distance-measuring and calibration usign laser displacement system, and for trajectory selection for optimizing moving to object, and for robot locomtion with air-thrust valve. And the software synthesizing of these algorithms hleps operator to realize the situation certainly and perform the job without any difficulty.

  • This paper addresses a problem of machining route selection and determination of input quantity with yield in multi-stage flexible flow system. The problem is formulated as nonlinear programing and the proposed model is solved by genetic algorithm(GA) approach. The effectiveness of the proposed GA approach is evaluated through comparisons with the optimal solution obtained from the branch and bound for the same problem.

  • The excessive cost of building ships causes the instability of payability, which manage poorly fishing vessels longer than 24m. As a result, an officer evades embarkation and a vicious circle is repeated. In this study, the optimal engine horsepower system for fishing vessels longer than 24m was invented to develop the most efficient engine horsepower, and also a database program for the most efficient engine horsepower has been developed based on the type of and their size.

  • In a recent years, there has been little change in basic mechanical and electrical design of material handling equipment. Reliability, safety. strength and controls have been improved. The most important change is sophisticated control and operation brough about by the tremendous improvement in computer capabilities. Even though the material handling equipment has been improved, material handling equipment must be selected properly. In this paper, the paper selection of material handling equipment using expert system will be presented.

  • There exists popular approach using certainty factor (CF) for the development of effective reasoning mechanism under uncertainty in Expert System, However, there is a problem with CF. The CF values could be resulted in the opposite of given conditional probabilities. In this paper, a method for, reasoning under uncertainty using reliability theory to overcome the problem is proposed. And the proposed method is used in the development of Expert System for the selection of equipment for automated warehouses.

  • Power system is becomming more and more complex and large. So system is stressed increasingly. This paper presents a method to select contingency ranking in power systems for EMS operation. Firstly, the proposed method is applied line outage using Thevenin equivalent circuit. Secondly, Contingency harmful to system is selected by loss variation between base case and fault. Thirdly, this paper prescribed simulated line sequence. Therefore this algorithm shows higher computation speed and effective memory use.

  • The most important decision of process planning for the manufacturing system is the machine selection problem to minimize machining costs. Each machine has its own different machining performance indicating a different fraction of scrap, making the cost of scrap generated by machining is different for each machine. Therefore, when we decide on machine selection, we must consider the machining cost and the cost of scrap generated. This paper describes the statistical model for the fraction of scrap generated by machining and the machine selection algorithm considering the total cost including the machining cost and the cost of scrap generated.
