Image processing steps consist of image acquisition, pre-processing, region segmentation and recognition, and the images are easily corrupted by noise during the data transmission, data capture, and data processing. Impulse noise and gaussian noise are major noises, which can occur during the process. Many filters such as mean filter, median filter, weighted median filter, Cheikh filter, and Kyu-cheol Lee filter were proposed as spatial noise reduction filters so far. Many researches have been focused on the reduction of impulse noise, but comparatively the research in the reduction of gaussian noise has been neglected. For the reduction of gaussian noise, subset averaged median filter, using median information and subset average information of pixels in a window. was proposed. At this time, consider of the window size as 3$^{*}$3 pixel. The window is divided to 4 subsets consisted of 4 pixels. First of all, we calculate the average value of each subset, and then find the median value by sorting the average values and center pixel's value. In this paper, a better reduction of gaussian noise was proved. The proposed algorithms were implemented by ANSI C language on a Sun Ultra 2 for testing purposes and the effects and results of the filter in the various levels of noise and images were proposed by comparing the values of PSNR, MSE, and RMSE with the value of the other existing filtering methods.thods.

A land cover map provides basic information to help understand the current state of a region, but its utilization in the ecological research field has deteriorated due to limited temporal and spatial resolutions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of using a land cover map with data based on high resolution images acquired by UAV. Using the UAV, 10.5 cm orthoimages were obtained from the $2.5km^2$ study area, and land cover maps were obtained from object-based and pixel-based classification for comparison and analysis. From accuracy verification, classification accuracy was shown to be high, with a Kappa of 0.77 for the pixel-based classification and a Kappa of 0.82 for the object-based classification. The overall area ratios were similar, and good classification results were found in grasslands and wetlands. The optimal image segmentation weights for object-based classification were Scale=150, Shape=0.5, Compactness=0.5, and Color=1. Scale was the most influential factor in the weight selection process. Compared with the pixel-based classification, the object-based classification provides results that are easy to read because there is a clear boundary between objects. Compared with the land cover map from the Ministry of Environment (subdivision), it was effective for natural areas (forests, grasslands, wetlands, etc.) but not developed areas (roads, buildings, etc.). The application of an object-based classification method for land cover using UAV images can contribute to the field of ecological research with its advantages of rapidly updated data, good accuracy, and economical efficiency.

We describe early morphological development in laboratory-reared specimens of the brown croaker, Miichthys miiuy, in relation to fin differentiation, head dimensions, and squamation. From the yolk sac stage to the flexion larval stage (a period of 12 days following hatching, at which time the larvae were <4.2 mm in total length; TL) we observed the presence of a fin-fold around the body, while the caudal fin appeared rounded and lacked scales. Rays developed in the dorsal, anal, and pectoral fins in a process that was almost complete in larvae 12 days, while ray segmentation occurred between 26 and 29 days of age. Elongation of the middle rays of the caudal fin was initiated at 32 days, and the rays were remarkably elongated by 37 days. By 68 days the caudal fin was lanceolated (50.7 mm TL). Scales began to develop from the midlateral lines of the caudal peduncle at 9.1mm TL (28 days), eventually encompassing the entire operculum (22.1 mm TL; 44 days). The head dimensions were largely stabilized at >12 mm TL (30 day).
The purpose of this study is to establish a marketing strategy for the makgeolli manufacturing industry. We fractionized cousumer types depending on motives for purchase of customers who had bought makeolli or drunk it for the last six months. We also examined the relationship between makgeolli selection attributes and customer satisfaction by the cousumer types. SPSS 15.0 statistical package was used to process data. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, a reliability test, K-means cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression were executed. As a result, the motives to purchase and drink were divided into four factors - marketing, effect on health, self-desires, outside environment; consumers into three types - dependent type, loving type, indifferent type; makgeolli selection attributes into five factors - health characteristics, visual elements, brand characteristics, drinking characteristics, purchase characteristics. It was shown that the makgeolli loving type considered all the makgeolli selection attributes as most important; the dependent type considered the health characteristics and visual elements as less important than the loving type did. The indifferent type considered all the makgeolli selection attributes as less important compared with the other types. Among the makgeolli selection attributes, drinking characteristics and the purchase characteristics had effects on customer satisfaction.
This study sought to examine the effects of job inconsistency of cooks in the food service businesses on job performance, and the effects of such causation on intention of changing jobs. For job inconsistency, cooks produce limited menu products due to the segmentation of jobs in the same industry, and can hardly exercise their skills obtained through education. Thus, 275 samples of job inconsistency were made to undergo frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlational analysis, and multiple regression analysis, using the SPSS 17.0 program. Hypothesis 1 was established as cooks' job inconsistency having a positive effect on job performance; thus, with regard to job performance factors, skill inconsistency (${\beta}$=-.432), and wage inconsistency (${\beta}$=-.250) had a negative effect on job performance, but education inconsistency (${\beta}$=-.048) did not have an effect. Hypothesis 2 was established as cooks' job performance having a significant effect on intention of changing jobs; thus, intention of changing jobs had a significant negative effect on job performance (${\beta}$=-.238). So if job performance was improved, the intention of changing jobs would be reduced. This study implies that: cooks who were engaging in the food service businesses experienced job inconsistency, and led themselves to having an intention to change jobs; in this process, individual cooks' job level inconsistency and their wage levels have an important effect on intention of changing jobs.

In this paper, we proposed fast and efficient algorithm for detecting near-duplication based on content based retrieval in large scale video database. For handling large amounts of video easily, we split the video into small segment using scene change detection. In case of video services and copyright related business models, it is need to technology that detect near-duplicates, that longer matched video than to search video containing short part or a frame of original. To detect near-duplicate video, we proposed motion distribution and frame descriptor in a video segment. The motion distribution descriptor is constructed by obtaining motion vector from macro blocks during the video decoding process. When matching between descriptors, we use the motion distribution descriptor as filtering to improving matching speed. However, motion distribution has low discriminability. To improve discrimination, we decide to identification using frame descriptor extracted from selected representative frames within a scene segmentation. The proposed algorithm shows high success rate and low false alarm rate. In addition, the matching speed of this descriptor is very fast, we confirm this algorithm can be useful to practical application.

Programmed cell death (PCD) is thought as a well-controlled process by which unwanted cells are selectively eliminated. During the last decade many researches have elucidated molecules and their interactions involved in cell death by using largely in vitro induction of cell death or survival signals in a more defined manner, While these critical information and novel findings provide us with clearer understanding of mechanisms underlying cell death, it does by no means explain how PCD occurs and which cells or tissues are affected during normal embryonic development in vivo. In this study, we used zebrafish to examine whether the PCD is occurring selectively or randomly in developing embryos by whole mount in situ TUNEL analysis with specific markers for neural cells. The result revealed that the degree and distribution of TUNEL staining varied considerably throughout gastrulation stage, and there was also a number of TUNEL-negative embryos. Most of TUNEL-positive cells were scattered randomly throughout the blastoderm. During the gastrulation stage about 75 % of the embryos analyzed exhibited more than 5 TUNEL-positive cells. As the dorsal epiblast begins to thicken rather abruptly near the end of gastrulation, TUNEL-positive cells were mainly located along the dorsal side. Although there were some variations in TUNEL staining during segmentation and pharyngeal stages, TUNEL staining continued to be localized to the central nervous system, and was also detected in the sensory organs, trigeminal ganglions, and the primary sensory neurons. High levels of the cell death in developing brain between 20-somite and prim-6 stages are thought to play a role in the morphogenesis and organization of the brain. At prim-16 stage, cell death is considerably reduced in the brain region. Dying cells are mainly localized to the prospective brain region where ectodermal cells are about to initiate neurogenesis. As development progressed, high levels and more reproducible patterns of cell death were observed in the developing nervous system. Intensive TUNEL staining was restricted to the trigeminal ganglions, the primary sensory neurons, and sensory organs, such as olfactory pits and otic vesicles. Thus, PCD patterning in zebrafish embryos occurs randomly at early stages and becomes restricted to certain region of the embryos. The spatio-temporal pattern of PCD during the early embryonic development in zebrafish will provide basic information for further studies to elucidate genes involved in. regulation of PCD largely unknown in vivo during vertebrate embryogenesis.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to analyze the series of panoramic radiograph of implant patients using the system to measure peri-implant crestal bone loss according to the elapsed time from fixture installation time to more than three years. Methods: Choose 10 patients having 45 implant fixtures installed, which have series of panoramic radiograph in the period to be analyzed by the system. Then, calculated the crestal bone depth and statistics and selected the implant in concerned by clicking the implant of image shown on the monitor by the implemented pattern recognition system. Then, the system recognized the x, y coordination of the implant and peri-implant alveolar crest, and calculated the distance between the approximated line of implant fixture and alveolar crest. By applying pattern recognition to periodic panoramic radiographs, we attained the results and made a comparison with the results of preceded articles concerning peri-implant marginal bone loss. Analyzing peri-implant crestal bone loss in a regression analysis periodic filmed panoramic radiograph, logarithmic approximation had highest $R^2$ value, and the equation is as shown below. $y=0.245Logx{\pm}0.42$, $R^2=0.53$, unit: month (x), mm (y) Results: Panoramic radiograph is a more wide-scoped view compared with the periapical radiograph in the same resolution. Therefore, there was not enough information in the radiograph in local area. Anterior portion of many radiographs was out of the focal trough and blurred precluding the accurate recognition by the system, and many implants were overlapped with the adjacent structures, in which the alveolar crest was impossible to find. Conclusion: Considering the earlier objective and error, we expect better results from an analysis of periapical radiograph than panoramic radiograph. Implementing additional function, we expect high extensibility of pattern recognition system as a diagnostic tool to evaluate implant-bone integration, calculate length from fixture to inferior alveolar nerve, and from fixture to base of the maxillary sinus.
Purpose - It is widely accepted that the process of developing marketing strategy is composed of three steps: market segmentation, target market selection and positioning. However, mass marketing strategy based on cost reduction through economies of scale and standardized products, can be also an effective strategic option. Many marketing scholars including Theodore Levitt emphasize the importance of applying the mass production concept to various industries including service industries. Especially, in times of economic downturn, the capability of providing consumers with low-priced, value products can be an important source of competitive advantage, as well as the ability of providing high-priced premium products. Marketers should decide whether they will implement mass marketing strategy or target marketing strategy. The present study theoretically shows that firms should understand the target customers' price elasticity as well as the firm's cost structure in order to make such a strategic decision. Research design, data, and methodology - Instead of implementing an empirical study, this study provides a theoretical(mathematical) investigation on the effect of consumers' price elasticity on a firm's optimal price level, profit, sales volume, revenue, and cost. The results are mostly deduced from derivative calculations and several graphs are utilized to represent the results on the relationships between the variables under study. Results - The analytical results suggest that it is more profitable for a firm to adopt the segment/target marketing strategy (more specifically the differentiation strategy) when the degree of consumers' heterogeneity is high and the proportion of the fixed cost in the total cost is low. On the other hand, if the degree of consumers' heterogeneity is low and the fixed cost is high, it is better to adopt the mass marketing strategy or the cost leadership strategy. The strategy of concentrating on a single target market will be effective when consumers' needs are highly heterogeneous but the fixed cost is high. Any of the three types of generic strategies proposed my Porter(1980, 1985) can be applied when both the consumers' heterogeneity and the fixed cost are low. This study also proposes the contribution-margin-based method for developing the optimal pricing strategy. Conclusions - One of the primary roles of marketers is to find a proper compromise between the two conflicting goals of maximizing customer satisfaction and minimizing cost. In order to do so, he or she should understand the characteristics of the target customers as well as the cost structure of the firm. In addition to the theoretical analyses, this study discusses several business cases and explains how superior companies find the optimal compromise position between these two goals and dominate the market. One of the radical changes recently taking place in business arena is the reduction of production and distribution costs of both physical goods and information due to the advancement and the wide diffusion of information technology. The cost reduction combined with lowered priced elasticity incurred by customized products and services, will enable many firms to adopt the mass customization strategy.

LiDAR has capability of rapid data acquisition and provides useful information for reconstructing surface of the Earth. However, Extracting information from LiDAR data is not easy task because LiDAR data consist of irregularly distributed point clouds of 3D coordinates and lack of semantic and visual information. This thesis proposed methods for automatic extraction of buildings and 3D detail modeling using airborne LiDAR data. As for preprocessing, noise and unnecessary data were removed by iterative surface fitting and then classification of ground and non-ground data was performed by analyzing histogram. Footprints of the buildings were extracted by tracing points on the building boundaries. The refined footprints were obtained by regularization based on the building hypothesis. The accuracy of building footprints were evaluated by comparing with 1:1,000 digital vector maps. The horizontal RMSE was 0.56m for test areas. Finally, a method of 3D modeling of roof superstructure was developed. Statistical and geometric information of the LiDAR data on building roof were analyzed to segment data and to determine roof shape. The superstructures on the roof were modeled by 3D analytical functions that were derived by least square method. The accuracy of the 3D modeling was estimated using simulation data. The RMSEs were 0.91m, 1.43m, 1.85m and 1.97m for flat, sloped, arch and dome shapes, respectively. The methods developed in study show that the automation of 3D building modeling process was effectively performed.
