적엽 및 제협처리가 콩의 건물축적에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Leaf and Pod Removal on Dry Matter Accumulation of Soybean Plants)

  • 콩의 생식생장기인 착협시(R3)에 상부 40%와 하부 60%로 구분하여 엽제거와 협제거 처리에 의한 엽수와 엽건물중, 종실부와 종실건물중, 그리고 협과 경건물중에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 1992년 고려대학교 자연자원대학 적소실험농장에 황금콩을 공시하여 실시한 시험결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 상엽하협제거처리로 식물체 하부의 엽수와 엽건물중이 증가되었다. 2. 종실부와 종실건물중은 상엽하협제거로 감소되었다. 3. 상엽하협제거는 하부의 경건물중을 증가시켰으나 상부의 협건물종은 감소시켰다. 4. 상엽하협제거에서 엽/종실 비율은 3.53로 가장 높았고 수수지수는 27%로 가장 낮았다. 5. 하엽상협제거는 상엽하협제거보다 동화\ulcorner질의 전류량이 많았다.

Characteristics and Germination of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge Seeds Originated from Inner Mongolia and Liaoning, China

  • Seeds of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge were collected from two plantations and two superior trees in Inner Mongolia: and one plantation and one superior tree in Liaoning, China in late August, 2011. Yellowhorn or goldenhorn is an important tree species, from the aspects of source of edible oil and biodiesel and pioneering capacity of degraded and desert land. Characteristics investigated were seed length, width, and weight: weight and volume of 1,000 seeds: and weight and volume of one-liter seeds. The seeds of Qingsonglingxiang No. 1, growing alone in an open space, showed the highest values in seed length (16.08 mm), width (14.48 mm) and weight (1.40 g), while those of Tree No. 160 in Ar Khorqin Banner were the lowest ones: that is, 11.48mm for length, 11.81 mm for width, and 0.73 g for weight, respectively. Traits of seeds varied quite much between trees and among areas; for example, Tree No. 38 and No. 160 produced quite different seeds in several traits, although they are adjacent to each other in the same farm. Weight of 1,000 seeds varied from 718.0 g to 1,010.1 g and volume from 0.76 L to 1.52 L. Weight of one-liter seeds were 522.3 g to 688.2 g, while the number of seeds were 603 to 935. Seeds which were soaked in the water at $4^{\circ}C$ for 2 days showed the highest germination rate (89%) in a 30-day test, which was about 10% to 40% higher than those of non-treatment and dipping treatment at $36^{\circ}C$ followed by keeping under room temperature for 2 days. 81% of seeds in the wet sand at room temperature germinated, while 23% of seeds deprived of seed coat germinated. It is necessary to understand seed traits to select superior clones or provenances for the increased, unfluctuating production of seed.

재래종 대두의 종실중과 저형질과의 관계 (Relationship between Seed Weight and Agronomic Traits in Korean Native Soybeans)

  • 본 시험에서는 중부이남 전역에서 수집한 재래재배종 대두 2,748 계통을 재배하여 백립중군을 분류하고 백립중군별로 특성을 조사하였다. 1. 백립중은 최소 7.3g부터 최대 48.4g까지 변이폭이 매우 컸으며, 군별 분류결과 1군(10.0g 이하)에 2.2%(60 계통), 2군(10.1-15.0g)에 14.7%(404 계통), 3군(15.1-20.0g)에 11.7%(323 계통), 4군(20.1-25.0g)에 26.2%(720 계통), 5군(25.1-30.0g)에 30.2%(829 계통), 6군(30.1-35.0g)에 10.6% (292 계통), 7군(35.1-40.0g)에 3.3%(91 계통), 8군 (40.0g 이상)에 1.1%(29 계통)가 분포되었다. 2. 백두중과 저형질과의 상관관계는 백립중과 성숙기, 결실일수와는 높은 정의 상관이었으나, 백립중과 개화기, 경장, 분지수, 절수, 협수, 도복과는 유의한 부의 상관이었다. 3. 백립중군별 평균협수는 백립중이 가벼운 1군이 66개로 가장 많았으며, 백립중이 가장 무거운 8군이 30개로 협수가 가장 적었다.

Changes of Chemical Components During Seed Development in Black Soybean (Glycine max L.)

  • Changes in the level of metabolites in leaves and pods were examined with respect to the seed chemical composition in black soybean. There was no further increase in pod length after 42 days after flowering (DAF). Pod weight, however, persistently increase until 73 DAF, thereafter the weight was slightly lowered. The seed storage protein, however, increased drastically as the increasing rate of pod weight was lessened at 61 DAF. The accumulation of seed storage proteins was occurred conspicuously as the increasing rate of pod weight was slowed down. The chlorophyll content both in leaves and pods was drastically decreased after 50 DAF. The beginning of drastic reduction in chlorophyll content was occurred concomitantly with the reduction of soluble protein content in leaves. The sugar content in leaves showed similar tendency with chlorophyll and soluble protein content. The starch level in leaves, however, showed different changing pattern during seed development. The starch content in leaves was increased persistently until 66 DAF, thereafter the content was decreased drastically to about $55\%$ of maximal value at 66 DAF. Total phenolics content in leaves and the anthocyanins content in seeds were stable without noticeable increase until 66 DAF. The contents were increased dramatically after 66 DAF showing the synchronized pattern with the decrease in starch level in leaves. The levels of the selected metabolites in leaf and seed suggested that the accumulation of chemical components of black soybean seed is launched actively at 66 DAF. The profile of storage proteins was nearly completed at 61 DAF because there was no large difference in densitometric intensity among protein subunits after 61 DAF. In soybean, chemical maturation of seed begins around 61 to 66 DAF at which most metabolites in vegetative parts are decreased and remobilized into maturing seeds.

  • 저장기간과 용도에 따른 대두종실의 건물 및 화학성분의 변화를 비교하기 위하여 장려 3품종에 대하여 2년의 저장기간 차이를 두었으며 용도에 따라서는 장려 5품종과 재래 2품종을 공시재료로 하여 종실을 종피와 자엽(유근포함)으로 분리하여 건물중, 발아율, 단백질, 지방, 전분, 당 및 oligo당을 분석하였다. 1. 3년 저장된 종자에서 건물중의 감소가 나타났으며, 발아율도 급격히 저하되었다. 2. 저장기간동안 자엽의 무게가 현저히 감소하였고, 종피의 구성비율은 증가하였다. 3. 3년 저장된 종자의 종피에서는 단백질, 지방, 탄수화물이 모두 감소하였고, 자엽에서는 단백질의 함량이 41.65%로 현저하게 감소하였다. 4. 종피의 구성비율은 대립종보다 소립종에서 높았다. 5. 밥밑콩에서 자엽의 단백질과 지방함량은 평균 43.59%와 18.25%로 장려품종에 비해 낮았고, 전분과 당의 함량은 평균 5.70%와 11.58%로 현저하게 높았다. 6. Sucrose, raffinose 및 stachyose의 함량은 밥밑콩에서 높았다.

Effects of Salt Treatment on Seed Germination and Plant Growth of Korean Native Apocynum lancifolium Russanov

  • This research was carried out to investigate seed germination and growth of the perennial plant Apocynum lancifolium under different NaCl concentrations, with a view for future cultivation on reclaimed land. Initial characterization revealed that the average length and weight of A. lancifolium seed pods was 133.6 mm and 0.23 g, respectively, and the thousand-grain weight was 0.59 g. Upon examining the effects of light on seed germination, we found germination to be 1.7% higher under light conditions (90%) than under dark conditions (88.3%). In terms of the response to salt stress, we found that 90% of seeds germinated in the 0.00%, 0.25%, and 0.50% salt treatment groups. Although salt treatment up to a concentration of 0.5% was found to have little effect on seed germination, the rate of germination decreased at higher concentrations and was completely inhibited in the 2% treatment. We also established that germination rates were higher in seeds sown in horticultural topsoil than in the coarse sandy soil found in the plant's natural habitats. Although the growth of A. lancifolium tends to decrease with an increase in salt concentration, we found that the stem thickness, fresh weight, and dry weight of A. lancifolium seedlings subjected to 0.25%-1.0% salt were comparable to those of the control seedling that were not exposed to salt. Furthermore, in contrast to those plants subjected to 2.0% salt, these plants continued to grow and remained viable.

다양한 종자크기를 가진 Near Isogenic 수박 계통 육성 및 종자관련 특성 분석 (Development of Near Isogenic Lines with Various Seed Sizes and Study on Seed Size-related Characteristics in Watermelon)

  • 수박에서 종자크기가 다른 각 계통들간의 종자특성과 종자크기의 변화에 따른 과특성을 살펴보기 위해 수박 유전자원 353 점을 대상으로 종자의 크기를 조사하고 6가지 대표적인 종자크기 형으로 분류하였으며 종자크기가 큰 순서부터 giant seed(GS), big seed(BS), medium size(NS), small size(SS), micro seed(MS), tomato seed(TS)라고 명명하였다. 종자크기가 작아질수록 종장, 종경이 작아졌고, 종자 모양은 큰 변화가 없지만 과당 종자수는 많아지고, 과당 종자중은 감소하였다. 종자크기가 과중, 발아율, 48시간 발효처리 후 발아에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위해 종자크기가 NS형인 수박 계통 'NT'로부터 종자크기형이 각각 SS, MS, TS인 3계통의 near isogenic line(NIL)s과 'S55'로부터 종자크기형이 TS인 1계통의 NIL을 육성하였다. 종자크기가 상이한 NIL간의 과중을 조사한 결과 NS, SS, MS형에서는 각각 과당 6.4, 6.3, 5.9 kg으로 유사하였고, TS인 경우에는 4.2 kg으로 급격히 줄어들었다. 종자크기형이 NS인 계통들에서는 양호한 발아율을 보였지만, TS인 경우에는 매우 낮은 발아율을 보였으며, 48시간 발효처리에 의하여 TS 계통들에서 발아율 증가가 관찰되었지만 여전히 낮은 발아율을 보였다. 전체 종자중에 대한 배와 종피의 무게 비율을 보면 NS, SS, MS의 경우에는 50% 이상의 배 비율을 보였지만, TS의 경우에 44.4%의 비율을 보여 이로 인해 낮은 발아율을 보이는 것으로 판단되었다. 본 연구를 통해서 수박에서 다양한 종자크기의 유전변이가 존재함을 알 수 있었고, TS는 종자크기 뿐 아니라 과중 또한 작은 특성을 가지고 있음을 확인하였다.

A New Soybean Cultivar "Gaechuck#1" : Black Soybean Cultivar with Lipoxygenase2,3-free, Kunitz Trypsin Inhibitor-free and Green Cotyledon

  • Lipoxygenase and Kunitz trypsin inhibitor protein of mature soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] seed are main anti-nutritional factors in soybean seed. A new soybean cultivar, "Gaechuck#1" with the traits of black seed coat, green cotyledon, lipoxygenase2,3 and Kunitz trypsin inhibitor protein free was developed. It was selected from the population derived the cross of "Gyeongsang#1" and C242. Plants of "Gaechuck#1" have a determinate growth habit with purple flowers, brown pubescence, black seed coat, black hilum, oval leaflet shape and brown pods at maturity. Seed protein and oil content on dry weight basis have averaged 39.1% and 16.2%, respectively. It has shown resistant reaction to soybean necrosis, soybean mosaic virus, Cercospora leaf spot and blight, black root rot, pod and stem blight, and soybean pod borer. "Gaechuck#1" matured on 5-10 October with a plant height of 50 cm. The 100-seed weight of "Gaechuck#1" was 23.2g. Yield of "Gaechuck#1" was averaged 2.2 ton/ha from 2005 to 2007.

Differences in Productivity among Rape Varieties for Oil Seed and Forage

  • In order to examine the possibility that oil seed rape could be used as a forage fodder crop and to select the most suitable variety of forage rape at the southern area of Korea, two varieties of oil seed rape currently grown for oil production and six introduced varieties of forage rape with relatively high yield and high nutritional value were grown at the same condition their and yield components were observed. Forage rape was superior to oil seed rape in terms of yield components, plant fresh weight and plant dry mater weight. Velox was superior to any other variety of forage rape in these characters. When plant dry matter weight of the rape was subdivided into four components such as a main stem, branch stems, main stem leaves and branch leaves, contribution of these components to plant dry matter weight was in the order of branch stems, branch leaves, the main stem and main stem leaves. Dry matter percentage of the rape ranged from 9.32 to 11.08 percent, which was somewhat low value. There was no significant difference between two groups of the rape in terms of dry matter percentage. Velox showed somewhat higher value in dry matter percentage.

Effect of Endophytic Bacterium Inoculation on Seed Germination and Sprout Growth of Tartary Buckwheat

  • This experiment was conducted to investigate the endophytic bacterium Herbaspirillum spp effect on seed germination and sprout growth of tartary buckwheat. Inoculant concentration (%v/v) and seed soaking time were applied 10, 20 and 40% and 0, 4, 8, 12 hour, respectively. The experiment was carried out in a growth chamber maintained temperature at 20, 25 and $30^{\circ}C$ without light for 7 days. Results showed that, 10 to 20% (v/v) inoculant concentration by 4 to 8 h seed soaking time at $20^{\circ}C$ temperature increased seed vigor rate and total seed germination rate 80-95% and 90-100%, respectively. On the other and, seed inoculation with Herbaspirillum spp. increased hypocotyl length (13-15 cm), root length (8-11 cm), total fresh weight (135-296 g) and total dry weight (7-10 g), compared to control. It is indicated that sprouts growth and yield depends on inoculation concentrations, seed soaking time and temperature. Therefore, it would be suggested that seed inoculation with Herbaspirillum spp. at concentration of 10 to 20% (v/v), soaking time 4 to 8 h and temperature $20^{\circ}C$ promote seed germinations and sprout growth rate of tartary buckwheat.
