A Design for Network Security System via Non-security Common Network (일반망과 보안망을 연계한 네트워크 보안체계 설계)

  • In this paper, we have proposed a design for security network system passing through the non-security network which is commonly used for various networking services. Based on the security requirements which are assumed that the large classified data are bi-transmitted between a server and several terminals remotely located, some application methods of security techniques are suggested such as the network separation technique, the scale-down application technique of certification management system based on the PKI(Public Key Infrastructure), the double encryption application using the crypto-equipment and the asymmetric keys encryption algorithm, unrecoverable data deleting technique and system access control using USB device. It is expected that the application of this design technique for the security network causes to increase the efficiency of the existing network facilities and reduce the cost for developing and maintaining of new and traditional network security systems.

An Improved Reversible Data Hiding Technique using Histogram Characteristics and Double Encryption Technique

  • In this paper, we proposed an effective technique that uses location-based encryption technique and spatial encryption technique to improve security vulnerabilities in previous reversible data hiding technique that can hide twice as much confidential data as the NSAS technique. If the proposed technique is applied to hide confidential data in an image, the same amount of confidential data can be hidden compared to the previous technique, but the security of confidential data is greatly enhanced. By hiding confidential data in an image using the proposed technique, high-quality stego-image can be generated, making it impossible to visually distinguish whether confidential data is hidden in the image. Additionally, confidential data can be restored from stego-image without loss, and the original cover image can also be restored without loss. Through experiments, it was confirmed that when confidential data is hidden by applying the proposed technique, the quality of the stego-image is maintained up to 39.73dB, and the security of the stego-image is greatly strengthened.

  • Along with the diversification of digital content services using wired/wireless networks, the market for the construction of base systems is growing rapidly. Cloud computing services are recognized for a reasonable cost of service and superior system operations. Cloud computing is convenient as far as system construction and maintenance are concerned; however, owing to the security risks associated with the system construction of actual cloud computing service, the ICT(Information and Communications Technologies) market is lacking regardless of its many advantages. In this paper, we conducted an experiment on a cloud computing security enhancement model to strengthen the security aspect of cloud computing and provide convenient services to the users. The objective of this study is to provide secure services for system operation and management while providing convenient services to the users. For secure and convenient cloud computing, a single sign-on (SSO) technique and a system access control technique are proposed. For user authentication using SSO, a security level is established for each user to facilitate the access to the system, thereby designing the system in such a manner that the rights to access resources of the accessed system are not abused. Furthermore, using a user authentication ticket, various systems can be accessed without a reauthorization process. Applying the security technique to protect the entire process of requesting, issuing, and using a ticket against external security threats, the proposed technique facilitates secure cloud computing service.

  • Since SMEs have recognized needs for industrial technique leakage prevention, they tend to construct information security system causing huge consumption of budget, yet they cannot organize information security team to operate integrated information security management system with consistency and it is fact that there only occur instant introductions of certain system. In this study, we designed information security management system for SMEs' industrial technique leakage prevention which is differentiated from those of large enterprises based on current status of SMEs' industrial technique leakage. Specifically we analyzed current status and vulnerability of SMEs' industrial technique leakage and we designed industrial technique leakage prevention management system for SMEs. Then we applied Delphi method to validate appropriateness of study result. We strongly believe that SMEs may estimate a appropriate level of investment on information security and develop countermeasures for control by utilizing this study result.

A Study on Routing Performance Improvement through Cooperation Authentication Technique (협력기반 인증 기법을 통한 라우팅 성능 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The main security threats in MANET are integrity and non-repudiation. In the meantime, a lot of secure routing protocols have been designed in order to block these security threats. In this paper, partnership-based authentication technique is proposed in order to provide participation exclusion of network and non-repudiation for the nodes. The proposed technique is a technique that participates in data communication for only the nodes receiving the authentication through the authentication process for the nodes. For this, the proposed technique is largely consists of two steps. The first step is the process that issued the certificate after the reliability for the nodes participating in the network is evaluated. And in the second step, the key exchange agreement with the neighbor nodes is performed and data communication is made after setting security path with responding nodes. The level of security in data transmission is improved because the process of path setting is performed through cooperation with a neighboring nodes having high reliability during the course of these two steps. The superiority of proposed technique in this paper was confirmed through the comparative experiment.

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of an efficient image security system for CCTV using the analysis technique of color informations. In conventional approaches, the compression and encryption techniques are mainly used for reducing the data size of the original images while the analysis technique of color information is first proposed, which eliminates the overlapping part of the original image data in our approach. In addition, security-enhanced CCTV image security system is presented using SSL/VPN tunneling technique. When we use the method proposed in this paper, an efficient image processing is enable for a mount of information, and also security problem is enhanced. Through the implementation results, the proposed method showed that the original image information are dramatically reduced.

  • The vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is currently an important approach to improve personal safety and driving comfort. ANEL is a MAC-based authentication scheme that offers all the advantages of MAC-based authentication schemes and overcomes all their limitations at the same time. In addition, the given scheme, ANEL, can achieve the security objectives such as authentication, privacy preservation, non-repudiation, etc. In addition, our scheme provides effective bio-password login, system key update, bio-password update, and other security services. Additionally, in the proposed scheme, the Trusted Authority (TA) can disclose the source driver and vehicle of each malicious message. The heavy traffic congestion increases the number of messages transmitted, some of which need to be secretly transmitted between vehicles. Therefore, ANEL requires lightweight mechanisms to overcome security challenges. To ensure security in our ANEL scheme we can use cryptographic techniques such as elliptic curve technique, session key technique, shared key technique and message authentication code technique. This article proposes a new efficient and light authentication scheme (ANEL) which consists in the protection of texts transmitted between vehicles in order not to allow a third party to know the context of the information. A detail of the mapping from text passing to elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) to the inverse mapping operation is covered in detail. Steganography: A Flexible Embedded Randomization Technique

  • With the expansion of digital communication networks, a considerable number of randomization techniques have been invented and implemented to enhance the different data transmission algorithms' levels of security. Steganography is among the data transmissions techniques used to hide secret data. Nowadays, several randomization techniques have been used in steganography to elevate the security of transmitted data. Unfortunately, the majority of these techniques lack some simplicity, efficiency, and flexibility, in addition to other limitations. This research presents a new randomization technique called Rand-Stego. Rand-Stego could be applied/practiced over any steganography technique. It provides simplicity and efficiency and elevates the security level. Examples of implementing the proposed technique on some steganography algorithms will be explored. The proposed and current techniques will be compared. The obtained results show Rand-Stego's superiority in terms of efficiency and flexibility when compared to the current techniques.
