  • Recently as we enter into the world of an aging society, the U-Healthcare service is newly spotlighted. In order to secure this U-Healthcare, a development of security solution that is suitable for the U-Healthcare environment is required. But the U-Healthcare environment is difficult to apply the existing security solution with the lack of standards, a security solution with high completeness was not developed. At this point, in order to structure the safe U-Healthcare environment, a generating method of an encryption key using the body information that helps the effective key management and ensuring the confidentiality of the data is proposed.

  • Buckling failure is one of the classical types of catastrophic landslides developing on inclination-paralleled rock slopes, which is mainly governed by its self-weight, earthquake and ground water. However, nearly none of the existing studies fully consider the influence of slope self-weight, earthquake and ground water on the mechanical model of buckling failure. In this paper, based on energy equilibrium principle and elastoplastic slab theory, a thorough mechanical analysis on bucking slopes has been carried out. Furthermore, an analytical solution for slip bucking failure of rock slopes has been proposed, which fully considers the effect of slope self-weight, seismic force and hydrostatic pressure. Finally, the methodology is used to conduct comparative analysis with other analytical solutions for three practical buckling studies. The results show that the proposed approach is capable of providing a more accurate and reasonable evaluation for stability of rock slopes with potential buckling failure.

  • IPSec provides two services that are authentication header and Encapsulating Security Payload(ESP). In this research work, security issues on the Internet and the basic concept of IPSec are described. Security issues on the Internet are presented and proposed a possible solution for DDoS attack using IPSec. Therefore, this research will be able to contribute for building secure communication against DDoS attack.

  • While the internet has evolved in terms of information sharing and efficiency, it is still prone to security attacks and remains vulnerable even when equipped with a security mechanism. Repeated patching against hacks involves excessive wear of system equipment and high costs. Methods of improving network security include the introduction of security equipment and network partitions, but they have not been fully effective. A fundamental solution is the Operation Content Network (OCN), which enables the strengthening of authentication. In this paper, Instead of following the existing TCP/IP system, OCN establishes an immunity-based security system through content-centric communications. Data transmission occurs over a Content Centric Network (CCN), which is provided with a protocol verified by the CCNx group. Areas protected by OCN rely only on CCN for communication without using any IP. As such, it defends the system against unknown attacks, including zero-day attacks.

  • With the prevalence of mobile devices, many organizations introduce MDM BYOD and try to increase the level of security with them. However, device control of mobile devices in application level cannot be a solution against the fundamental problems. In this paper, we propose a more flexible and more secure method to control the hardware devices using Linux Security Module in the kernel level with the mandatory access control.

  • This research aims to provide a solution for the improvement of private security according to the change in criminal environment. The main cause of crime can be found in the anti-functional dimensions including value set disorder, social phenomenon variation, information-based, globalization and urbanization. In this environment, the private security sector has dramatically increased in a quantitative viewpoint, but it is insufficient in a qualitative viewpoint. This paper recognized this problem and demonstrates a solution for improvement through classifying elements of private security into relevant legislation, education institutions, security companies and security associations. The analysis result is a follows: First, motivation and satisfaction rate of escort and security related major has shown to be high. However, respondents evaluated the guard educational institution negatively. Second, the motivation of entering into the private security sector for internal staffs has shown to be positive and sound. However, the job satisfaction rate has shown to be low due to excessive competition, negative perception of occupation and low earning. Third, respondents gave an average mark to the Security Association's management and operation. In addition, the mutual-aid project received the same mark. Negative feedbacks were given to the protection of member's interest and to association operation and policy, while positive feedbacks were given to the degree of member's cooperation towards association policies.

  • "I think security is only trying to make it uncomfortable." "10% of my work is entering IDs and passwords, such as boot passwords, mobile phone authentication numbers, etc." As reflected in the complaint above, stress caused by information security among organizations' members is increasing. In order to strengthen information security, practical solutions to reduce stress are needed because the motivation of the members is needed in order for organizations to function properly. Therefore, this study attempts to suggest key factors that can enhance security while reducing information security stress among members of organizations. To this end, based on the theory of protection motivation, trust and security stress from information security policies are set as mediating factors to explain changes in security reinforcement behavior. Furthermore, risk, efficacy, and reaction costs of cyberattacks are considered as prerequisites. Our study suggests a solution to the security reinforcement problem by analyzing the factors that influence the behavior of members of organizations. In turn, this can raise protection motivation among members.

  • The conventional network security solutions for manufacturing or factory automation devices are concentrated on protecting the internal networks from the attacks of external networks. Recently, however, so called Day-zero attacks are increased; the threat from internal devices such as notebooks, USB devices are as critical as attacks from external networks. Thus a new security solution is needed to protect manufacturing devices from both external and internal threat. To this purpose, we propose an edge-security system to provide cost effective, integrated, and simple end-point security solution specialized for automated manufacturing devices, which may avoid the shortcomings of NAC.
