  • With the growing usage of the networks, the world-wide Internet has become the main means to exchange data and carry out transactions. It has also become the main means to attack hosts. To solve the security problems which occur in the network such as Internet, we import software products of network security elements like an IDS (Intrusion Detection System) and a firewall. In this paper, we have designed and constructed the General Simulation Environment of Network Security model composed of multiple IDSes and a firewall which coordinate by CNP (Contract Net Protocol) for the effective detection of the intrusion. The CNP, the methodology for efficient integration of computer systems on heterogeneous environment such as distributed systems, is essentially a collection of agents, which cooperate to resolve a problem. Command console in the CNP is a manager who controls tie execution of agents or a contractee, who performs intrusion detection. In the Network Security model, each model of simulation environment is hierarchically designed by DEVS (Discrete EVent system Specification) formalism. The purpose of this simulation is to evaluate the characteristics and performance of CNP architecture with rete pattern matching algorithm and the application of rete pattern matching algorithm for the speeding up the inference cycle phases of the intrusion detection expert system.

  • Identity and access management in cloud computing is one of the leading significant issues that require various security countermeasures to preserve user privacy. An authentication mechanism is a leading solution to authenticate and verify the identities of cloud users while accessing cloud applications. Building a secured and flexible authentication mechanism in a cloud computing platform is challenging. Authentication techniques can be combined with other security techniques such as intrusion detection systems to maintain a verifiable layer of security. In this paper, we provide an interactive, flexible, and reliable multi-factor authentication mechanisms that are primarily based on a proposed Authentication Method Selector (AMS) technique. The basic idea of AMS is to rely on the user's previous authentication information and user behavior which can be embedded with additional authentication methods according to the organization's requirements. In AMS, the administrator has the ability to add the appropriate authentication method based on the requirements of the organization. Based on these requirements, the administrator will activate and initialize the authentication method that has been added to the authentication pool. An intrusion detection component has been added to apply the users' location and users' default web browser feature. The AMS and intrusion detection components provide a security enhancement to increase the accuracy and efficiency of cloud user identity verification.

  • This paper describes intrusion detection rule mangement using mobile agents. Intrusion detection can be divided into anomaly detection and misuse detection. Misuse detection is best suited for reliably detecting known use patterns. Misuse detection systems can detect many or all known attack patterns, but they are of little use for as yet unknown attack methods. Therefore, the introduction of mobile agents to provide computational security by constantly moving around the Internet and propagating rules is presented as a solution to misuse detection. This work presents a new approach for detecting intrusions, in which mobile agent mechanisms are used for security rules propagation. To evaluate the proposed appraoch, we compared the workload data between a rules propagation method using a mobile agent and a conventional method. Also, we simulated a rules management using NS-2(Network Simulator) with respect to time.

  • Malicious social robots, which are disseminators of malicious information on social networks, seriously affect information security and network environments. The detection of malicious social robots is a hot topic and a significant concern for researchers. A method based on classification has been widely used for social robot detection. However, this method of classification is limited by an unbalanced data set in which legitimate, negative samples outnumber malicious robots (positive samples), which leads to unsatisfactory detection results. This paper proposes the use of generative adversarial networks (GANs) to extend the unbalanced data sets before training classifiers to improve the detection of social robots. Five popular oversampling algorithms were compared in the experiments, and the effects of imbalance degree and the expansion ratio of the original data on oversampling were studied. The experimental results showed that the proposed method achieved better detection performance compared with other algorithms in terms of the F1 measure. The GAN method also performed well when the imbalance degree was smaller than 15%.

  • With remarkable growth of using Internet, attempts to try intrusions on network are now increasing. Intrusion Detection System is a security system which detects and copes illegal intrusions. Especially with increasing dispersive attacks through network, concerns for this Distributed Intrusion Detection are also rising. The previous Intrusion Detection System has difficulty in coping cause it detects intrusions only on particular network and only same segment. About same attacks, system lacks capacity of combining information and related data. Also it lacks cooperations against intrusions. Systematic and general security controls can make it possible to detect intrusions and deal with intrusions and predict. This paper considers Distributed Intrusion Detection preventing attacks and suggests the way sending active packets between nodes safely and performing in corresponding active node certainly. This study suggested improved E-IDS system which prevents service attacks and also studied sending messages safely by encoding. Encoding decreases security attacks in active network. Also described effective ways of dealing intrusions when misuses happens thorough case study. Previous network nodes can't deal with hacking and misuses happened in the middle nodes at all, cause it just encodes ends. With above suggested ideas, problems caused by security services can be improved.

  • According to supply of super high way internet service, importance of security becomes more emphasizing. Therefore, flawless security solution is needed for blocking information outflow when we send or receive data. large enterprise and public organizations can react to this problem, however, small organization with limited work force and capital can't. Therefore they need to elevate their level of information security by improving their information security system without additional money. No hackings can be done without passing invasion blocking system which installed at the very front of network. Therefore, if we manage.isolation log effective, we can recognize hacking trial at the step of pre-detection. In this paper, it supports information security manager to execute isolation log analysis very effectively. It also provides isolation log analysis module which notifies hacking attack by analyzing isolation log.

  • Web application services have diversified. At the same time, research on intrusion detection is continuing due to the surge of cyber threats. Also, As a single-defense system evolves into multi-level security, we are responding to specific intrusions by correlating security events that have become vast. However, it is difficult to check the OS, service, web application type and version of the target system in real time, and intrusion detection events occurring in network-based security devices can not confirm vulnerability of the target system and success of the attack A blind spot can occur for threats that are not analyzed for problems and associativity. In this paper, we propose the validation of effectiveness for intrusion detection events using TF-IDF. The proposed scheme extracts the response traffics by mapping the response of the target system corresponding to the attack. Then, Response traffics are divided into lines and weights each line with an TF-IDF weight. we checked the valid intrusion detection events by sequentially examining the lines with high weights.

  • The development of various phishing websites enables hackers to access confidential personal or financial data, thus, decreasing the trust in e-business. This paper compared the detection techniques utilizing URL-based features. To analyze and compare the performance of supervised machine learning classifiers, the machine learning classifiers were trained by using more than 11,005 phishing and legitimate URLs. 30 features were extracted from the URLs to detect a phishing or legitimate URL. Logistic Regression, Random Forest, and CatBoost classifiers were then analyzed and their performances were evaluated. The results yielded that CatBoost was much better classifier than Random Forest and Logistic Regression with up to 96% of detection accuracy.

  • Network security situational awareness systems helps in better managing the security concerns of a network, by monitoring for any anomalies in the network connections and recommending remedial actions upon detecting an attack. An Intrusion Detection System helps in identifying the security concerns of a network, by monitoring for any anomalies in the network connections. We have proposed a CRF based IDS system using genetic search feature selection algorithm for network security situational awareness to detect any anomalies in the network. The conditional random fields being discriminative models are capable of directly modeling the conditional probabilities rather than joint probabilities there by achieving better classification accuracy. The genetic search feature selection algorithm is capable of identifying the optimal subset among the features based on the best population of features associated with the target class. The proposed system, when trained and tested on the bench mark NSL-KDD dataset exhibited higher accuracy in identifying an attack and also classifying the attack category.
