차세대 IoT 보안: 하드웨어 보안모듈 내 ARIA 암호화 - MQTT 와 LwM2M 통합의 비교 분석 (Next-Gen IoT Security: ARIA Cryptography within Hardware Secure Modules - A Comparative Analysis of MQTT and LwM2M Integration)

  • This paper investigates the integration of ARIA cryptography within hardware secure modules to bolster IoT security. We present a comparative analysis of two prominent IoT communication protocols, MQTT and LwM2M, augmented with ARIA cryptography. The study evaluates their performance, security, and scalability in practical IoT applications. Our experimental setup comprises FPGA-enabled hardware secure modules interfaced with Raspberry Pi acting as an MQTT and LwM2M client. We utilize the Mosquitto MQTT server and an LwM2M server deployed on AWS IoT. Through rigorous experimentation, we measure various performance metrics, including latency, throughput, and resource utilization. Additionally, security aspects are scrutinized, assessing the resilience of each protocol against common IoT security threats. Our findings highlight the efficacy of ARIA cryptography in bolstering IoT security and reveal insights into the comparative strengths and weaknesses of MQTT and LwM2M protocols. These results contribute to the development of robust and secure IoT systems, paving the way for future research in this domain.

  • The logistics industry is based on personnel, and without talented individuals, corporate success in impossible. Therefore, we should fully understand and research China's future in logistics along with the status of related personnel in the country, and seek to establish valid measures concerning our country's logistics personnel. In order for Korea's logistics industry to develop, we should also consider professional training of personnel and the establishment of training facilities. The training of logistics personnel can promote national competitiveness, and can contributetowards the national economy. Also, the production of competitive personnel can secure the healthy and secure development of the Chinese logistics industry. In conclusion, our companies should continue professional training for current and new employees, and through internal training and certifications, improve workers' capabilities and productivity, promoting the healthy development of the logistics industry.

  • With the rapidity of the development on electronic technology, various mobile devices are produced to make human life more convenient. The user is always in constant search of middle with ease of deployment. Therefore, the development of infrastructure and application with ubiquitous nature gets a growing keen interest. Recently, the number of pervasive network services is expanding into ubiquitous computing environment. To get desired services, user presents personal details about this identity, location and private information. The information transmitted and the services provided in pervasive computing environments (PCEs) are exposed to eavesdropping and various attacks. Therefore, the need to protect this environment from illegal accesses has become extremely urgent. In this paper, we propose an anonymous authentication and access control scheme to secure the interaction between mobile users and services in PCEs. The proposed scheme integrates a biometric authentication in PKI model. The proposed authentication aims to secure access remote in PCE for guaranteeing reliability and availability. Our authentication concept can offer pervasive network service users convenience and security.

PC상의 암호파일의 안전한 복구를 위한 키복구 시스템의 개발 및 평가 (Development and Evaluation of Key Recovery System for Secure Recovery of Cryptographic Files in PC)

  • The encryption of a file on a PC before saving can maintain security of the file. However, if the key for the encrypted file is lost or damaged, the encrypted file can not be decrypted, resulting in serious economical loss to the user or the user group. In order to minimize the economical loss a secure and reliable key recovery technology is required. Presented in this paper is the development and evaluation of PKRS (PC based Key Recovery System) which supports encryption and decryption of file and recovery of the encrypted file in emergency. The encapsulating method, which attaches key recovery information to encrypted file, is applied to the PKRS. In addition, the PKRS is developed and evaluated according to the requirements of Requirements for Key Recovery Products proposed by NIST and requirements of Common Criteria 2.0 to prove the safety and reliability of the information security system. This system is applicable to a PC and can be further extended to internet or intranet environment information system where in encryption and recovery of file is possible.

  • One of the main concerns of railway system is to secure safety. Nowadays digital technology has been rapidly applied to safety critical system. The digital system performs more varying and highly complex functions efficiently compared to the existing analog system because software can be flexibly designed and implemented. The flexible design makes it difficult to predict the software failures. For this reason, the safety criteria are suggested to secure the software safety for the field of railway system. Following them, the railway software have to be examined whether it is properly developed according to the safety criteria and certification process. Because the articles suggested in safety criteria are written in legal term, it is difficult to apply the criteria to develop railway software. This paper suggests and discusses a development and assessment procedure to solve these issues for railway software with more detail description.

주요국의 지능로봇 정책 추진 현황과 시사점 (Status and Implications of Policies on Intelligent Robotics in Major Countries)

  • As artificial intelligence advances, major countries are actively promoting the use of intelligent robots to improve industrial productivity and enhance the quality of life. As robots become more capable of interacting with humans, they are being increasingly integrated into the human realm. Accordingly, major countries are actively implementing policies to lead intelligent robot technology and secure market leadership. We examine the status of policies related to intelligent robots in five countries: United States, China, Japan, Germany, and South Korea. These countries apply 1) government-led intelligent robot policies, 2) investments to secure core robot technologies and promote the convergence of artificial intelligence and robots, 3) programs for research and development on intelligent robots, 4) strengthened human-centered human-robot interaction and collaboration, and 5) ethics, stability, and reliability in the development and use of robot technologies. For Korea to compete with major countries and promote the intelligent robot industry, high-risk, high-performance innovation projects should be prioritized.

대구광역시 저층주거지역의 옥상녹화 조성에 따른 주변 열환경 변화 모의실험 (Simulation of Changes in Nearby Thermal Environment According to Green Roof in Low-Rise Residential Area of Daegu)

  • It is important to secure green spaces to solve the urban heat island phenomenon, which is among problems resulted by high-density developments in metropolitan areas. However, it is hard to secure such green spaces in established urban areas so Green Rooftop development approaches have recently been highlighted and introduced as a solution to the situation. The present study conducts a simulation on residential areas in urbanized regions to quantitatively evaluate the effects of green rooftop developments through a comparison of changes in the air temperatures before and after relevant development projects. According to the evaluation results, when the green roof top development is conducted in the available areas, the temperature is reduced by 0.14 degree. The extension of green project to the entire building showed the reduction of the temperature by 0.29 degree. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the green rooftop development is a practically solution for reducing the air temperature of urbanized areas.

  • In efforts to increase its agricultural productivity, the Indonesian Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Resources Research and Development has conducted a variety of genomic studies using high-throughput DNA genotyping and sequencing. The large quantity of data (big data) produced by these biotechnologies require high performance data management system to store, backup, and secure data. Additionally, these genetic studies are computationally demanding, requiring high performance processors and memory for data processing and analysis. Reliable network connectivity with large bandwidth to transfer data is essential as well as database applications and statistical tools that include cleaning, quality control, querying based on specific criteria, and exporting to various formats that are important for generating high yield varieties of crops and improving future agricultural strategies. This manuscript presents a reliable, secure, and scalable information technology infrastructure tailored to Indonesian agriculture genotyping studies.

  • 최근 인터넷을 기반으로 한 정보기술의 발전은 정보처리 및 정보교환이 활발해 짐에 따라 인터넷 이용의 많은 부분이 전자화된 문서를 인터넷 메일을 통해 주고받고 있다. 이는 오픈 네트웍을 통해 전자문서를 보내고 송, 수신함에 있어 문서정보에 대한 안정성이 위협 받고 있다. 특히 중요문서를 주고받을 때는 그 위협 정도는 매우 높다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 전자 문서들을 안전하게 전송한 수 있도록 하는 클라이언트 메일 보안 시스템을 설계 구현하였다. 그러므로 전자문서 정보를 인터넷을 통해 전달할 때 발생 가능한 정보의 조작이나 변질, 도용으로부터 중요 문서정보를 보호하도록 공개키 기반 구조에서 안전한 전송을 위한 암호화된 메일 전송과 배달증명 그리고 메일메시지 무결성을 보장하도록 한다. 뿐만 아니라 윈도우즈용 GUI 인터페이스 환경에서 공개키를 기반으로 한 SET프로토콜을 이용하여 전문적인 지식이 없는 일반 사용자도 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 사용자 인터페이스와 공개키 암호화 알고리즘을 적용한 메일보안시스템을 개발하였다.
