Acoustic sounds generated by uniform flow around a two-dimensional circular cylinder at Re=150 are simulated by applying the finite difference lattice Boltzmann method. A third-order-accurate up-wind scheme is used for the spatial derivatives. A second-order-accurate Runge-Kutta scheme is also used for time marching. Very small acoustic pressure fluctuation, with same frequency as that of Karman vortex street, is compared with pressure fluctuation around a circular cylinder. The propagation velocity of acoustic sound shows that acoustic approaching the upstream, due to the Doppler effect in uniform flow, slowly propagates. For the downstream, on the other hand, it quickly propagates. It is also apparent that the size of sound pressure is proportional to the central distance ${\gamma}$$\^$-1/2/ of the circular cylinder.

Fraud in e-commerce transaction increased in the last decade especially with the increasing number of online stores and the lockdown that forced more people to pay for services and groceries online using their credit card. Several machine learning methods were proposed to detect fraudulent transaction. Neural networks showed promising results, but it has some few drawbacks that can be overcome using optimization methods. There are two categories of learning optimization methods, first-order methods which utilizes gradient information to construct the next training iteration whereas, and second-order methods which derivatives use Hessian to calculate the iteration based on the optimization trajectory. There also some training refinements procedures that aims to potentially enhance the original accuracy while possibly reduce the model size. This paper investigate the performance of several NN models in detecting fraud in e-commerce transaction. The backpropagation model which is classified as first learning algorithm achieved the best accuracy 96% among all the models.
In this paper, the airflow around an ideal thin plate (hereafter referred to as ITP) with various ratios of central slot is simulated by using the finite-difference-method (FDM)-based Arbitrary-Lagrangian-Eulerian descriptions for the rigid oscillating body. The numerical procedure employs the second-order projection scheme to decouple the governing equations, and the multigrid algorithm with three levels to improve the computational efficiency in evaluating of the pressure equation. The present CFD method is validated through comparing the computed flutter derivatives of the ITP without slot to Theodorsen analytical solutions. Then, the unsteady aerodynamics of the ITP with and without central slot is investigated. It is found that even a smaller ratio of central slot of the ITP has notable effects on pressure distributions of the downstream section, and the pressure distributions on the downstream section will further be significantly affected by the slot ratio and the reduced wind speeds. Continuous increase of $A_2^*$ with the increase of central slot may be the key feature of the slotted ITP. Finally, flutter analyses based on the flutter derivatives of the slotted ITP are performed, and moreover, flutter instabilities of a scaled sectional model of a twin-deck bridge with various ratios of deck slot are investigated. The results confirm that the central slot is effective to improve bridge flutter stabilities, and that the flutter critical wind speeds increase with the increase of slot ratio.
The prediction of multimode flutter relies, to a larger extent than bimodal flutter, on accurate modeling of the self-excited forces since it is challenging to perform experimental validation by using aeroelastic tests for a multimode case. This paper sheds some light on the accuracy of predicted self-excited forces by comparing numerical predictions of self-excited forces with measured forces from wind tunnel tests considering the flutter vibration mode. The critical velocity and the corresponding flutter vibration mode of the Hardanger Bridge are first determined using the classical multimode approach. Then, a section model of the bridge is forced to undergo a motion corresponding to the flutter vibration mode at selected points along the bridge, during which the forces that act upon it are measured. The measured self-excited forces are compared with numerical predictions to assess the uncertainty involved in the modeling. The self-excited lift and pitching moment are captured in an excellent manner by the aerodynamic derivatives. The self-excited drag force is, on the other hand, not well represented since second-order effects dominate. However, the self-excited drag force is very small for the cross-section considered, making its influence on the critical velocity marginal. The self-excited drag force can, however, be of higher importance for other cross-sections.
This study devises a novel approach, namely quadruple 1D convolutional neural network, for detecting connection stiffness reduction in steel truss bridge structure using experimental and numerical modal data. The method is developed based on expertise in two domains: firstly, in Structural Health Monitoring, the mode shapes and its high-order derivatives, including second, third, and fourth derivatives, are accurate indicators in assessing damages. Secondly, in the Machine Learning literature, the deep convolutional neural networks are able to extract relevant features from input data, then perform classification tasks with high accuracy and reduced time complexity. The efficacy and effectiveness of the present method are supported through an extensive case study with the railway Nam O bridge. It delivers highly accurate results in assessing damage localization and damage severity for single as well as multiple damage scenarios. In addition, the robustness of this method is tested with the presence of white noise reflecting unavoidable uncertainties in signal processing and modeling in reality. The proposed approach is able to provide stable results with data corrupted by noise up to 10%.
Traditionally, polynomials have been used to approximte functions with prescribed values at a number of points(called the knots) on a given interal on the real line. The method of splines recently developed is more flexible. It approximates a function in a piece-wise fashion, by means of a different polynomial in each subinterval. The cubic spline gas ets origins in beam theory. It possessed continuous first and second deriatives at the knots and is characterised by a minimum curvature property which es rdlated to the physical feature of minimum potential energy of the supported beam. Translated into mathematical terms, this means that between successive knots the approximation yields a third-order polynomial sith its first derivatives continuous at the knots. The minimum curvature property holds good for each subinterval as well as for the whole region of approximation This means that the integral of the square of the second derivative over the entire interval, and also over each subinterval, es to be minimized. Thus, the task of determining the spline lffers itself as a textbook problem in discrete computer programming, since the integral of ghe square of the second derivative can be obviously recognized as the criterion function whicg gas to be minimized. Starting with the initial value of the function and assuming an initial solpe of the curve, the minimum norm property of the curvature makes sequential decision of the slope at successive knots (points) feasible. It is the aim of this paper to derive the cubic spline by the methods of computer programming and show that the results which is computed the all the alues in each subinterval of the spline approximations.

An attempt to improve the second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of MAP (methyl (2,4-dinitrophenyl)aminopropanoate) by modifying the substituents on the amino group of MAP is described. Several MAP analogues have been prepared using optically active amino acids alanine, phenylalanine and serine, and their SHG efficiencies measured. None of the MAP analogues exhibited SHG efficiencies as high as that of MAP. X-ray crystal structures of three MAP analogues have been determined. In the crystal structures of two of them, which were the derivatives of phenylalanine, two crystallographically-independent molecules existing in the asymmetric unit are aligned almost antiparallel. These structures are consistent with the very low SHG efficiencies of these compounds. On the other hand, the crystal structure of a serine derivative reveals substantial alignment of the dinitroaniline chromophore along the polar axis. However, the angle of 86.2° between the molecular charge tranfer axis and the polar axis of the crystal is still far away from the optimum value of 54.74° for the phase-matchable SHG. The structure is consistent with the SHG efficiency of this compound which is much higher than those of the phenylalanine derivatives but still lower than that of MAP. This study demonstrates the importance of the orientation of molecules in the crystal lattice in determining secod-order nonlinear optical properties of crystalline materials.
In this paper a bridge flutter prediction is performed by using advanced numerical simulation. Two novel approaches were developed simultaneously by utilizing the ANSYS v12.1 commercial software package. The first one is a fluid-structure interaction simulation involving the three-dimensional elastic motion of a bridge deck and the fluid flow around it. The second one is an updated forced oscillation technique based on the dynamic mode shapes of the bridge. An aeroelastic wind tunnel model was constructed in order to validate the numerical results. Good agreement between the numerical results and the measurements proves the applicability of the novel methods in bridge flutter assessment.
The reaction mechanisms for the cyclizations of N-methyl-2-(2-chloropyridin-3-yloxy)acetamide to 1-methylpyrido[ 3,2-b][1,4]oxazin-2-one and 1-methyl-pyrido[2,3-b][1,4]oxazin-2-one were investigated using ab initio Hartree-Fock, second-order Moller-Plesset perturbation, single point coupled cluster with both single and double substitution, and density functional theory methods. The 5-membered spiro intermediate (2) is optimized from the cyclization of the acyclic reactants through the proton-transfer reaction, and this intermediate proceeds continuously to the 6-membered intermediate through either a stepwise or a concerted reaction. In the stepwise reaction, an N-bridge-type intermediate as a stable structure is optimized, whereas, in the concerted reaction, the O-bridge-type intermediate is not optimized.

This paper presents a super-resolution reconstruction method based on sparse representation for two-dimensional bar code images. Considering the features of two-dimensional bar code images, Kirsch and LBP (local binary pattern) operators are used to extract the edge gradient and texture features. Feature extraction is constituted based on these two features and additional two second-order derivatives. By joint dictionary learning of the low-resolution and high-resolution image patch pairs, the sparse representation of corresponding patches is the same. In addition, the global constraint is exerted on the initial estimation of high-resolution image which makes the reconstructed result closer to the real one. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm for two-dimensional bar code images by comparing with other reconstruction algorithms.
