This paper deals with the optimal design of a shield plate in order to minimize Extremely-Low-Frequency(ELF) magnetic fields generated from three-phase bus bars. Combining an evolutionary strategy with a 3D finite element analysis tool, the main dimensions of the shield plate are sought out. The optimization procedure consists of two separated design stages to take into account all foreseen structures of the plate. In the first stage, the basic dimensions of the plate are optimized including the distance between the plate and the bus bars. Then the usefulness of the additional structures such as a slit and fillet is investigated in the second stage. Finally the optimum design of the shield plate is suggested from the viewpoint of the shielding effectiveness and manufacturing cost.
Setarches longimanus (Alcock 1894), in the family Scorpaenidae, was collected from Busan and the coastal waters of Jeju Island, Korea, in January and November 2014, respectively. Two specimens are characterized by XI, 10 dorsalfin rays; 19-21 pectoralfin rays; III, 5 anal fin rays; a second preopercular spine much shorter than the first and third; and an interorbital width 11.3 %-11.6 % of the standard length. We also analyzed 587 base pairs of the mitochondrial DNA cytochrome c oxidase subunit I sequences in order to confirm the taxonomic status of the specimen. As a result, the sequences of our specimen almost corresponded to those of Chinese S. longimanus (genetic distance, d = 0.005), but considerably differed from those of S. guentheri (d = 0.120-0.124). We propose the new Korean names "Ma-su-gam-peng-sok" for the genus Setarches, and "Bul-geun-ma-su-gam-peng" for the species S. longimanus.

In this paper, we are concerned with the K-shortest loopless path problem. The MPS algorithm, recently proposed by Martins et al., finds paths efficiently because it solves the shortest path problem only one time unlike other algorithms. But its computational complexity has not been known yet. We propose a few techniques by which the MPS algorithm can be implemented efficiently. First, we use min-heap data structure for the storage of candidate paths in order to reduce searching time for finding minimum distance path. Second, we prevent the eliminated paths from reentering in the list of candidate paths by lower bounding technique. Finally, we choose the source mode as a deviation node, by which selection time for the deviation node is reduced and the performance is improved in spite of the increase of the total number of candidate paths.
In this study, computer simulation program was using to identify the effects of road traffic noise propagation depending on the road types which are very variable in dense city. To achieve this goal, the roads should adjacent to housing complex were categorized into 7 types and propagation noise level should predicted then after simulation of noise exposure population calculation are carried out. Followings the results. First, the road types producing the higher noise level are R1, R2, R3 and R7. The lowest one is R6. And R4, R5 showed that some amount of noise level reduction. Second. the R6 road type which is tunnel shaped showed the highest noise level reduction in vertical distance gap. Last, the order of noise exposure population ratio is R1>R2>R7 and R6 showed the lowest.

In this paper a further generalization of the theory of multilayer physical adsorption previously developed by the authors is attempted so that the effect of vertical interactions between adsorbent and adsorbate can be explicitly taken into account. In this attempt we have to discard the previously adopted assumption that the molecules in the second layer or above are all in the same physical state. In order to estimate the effect of vertical interactions on the adsorption isotherm the interaction energy between an adsorbed molecule and the adsorbent surface is assumd to vary as $r^{-3}$ where r is the distance that the molecule under consideration is separated from the adsorbent surface. Resulting adsorption isotherm is applied to interpret the adsorption data of tetramethylsilane vapor on iron film and good agreements between observed and calculated values are obtained over wide range of pressure.

A voice is one of the most significant non-verbal elements for communication. Disorders in vocal organs, or habitual muscular setting for articulatory cause vocal disorders. Therefore, by analyzing the vocal disorders, it is possible to predicate vocal diseases. In this paper, a method of predicting vocal disorders using the jitter, shimmer, and harmonics-to-noise ratio (HNR) extracted from vocal records is proposed. In order to extract jitter, shimmer, and HNR, one-second's voice signals are recorded in 44.1khz. In an experiment, 151 voice records are collected. The collected data set is clustered using cobweb clustering method. 21 classes with 12 leaves are resulted from the data set. According to the semantics of jitter, shimmer, and HNR, the class whose centroid has lowest jitter and shimmer, and highest HNR becomes the normal vocal group. The risk of vocal disorders can be predicted by measuring the distance and direction between the centroids.

The purpose of this thesis is to study the optimal arrangement of aircraft instrument panels through the human factors approach. Human factors engineering is the process of effectively fitting the human component to the machine component in any man-machine system. The human factors. are especially important to an aircraft pilot who must constantly shift his attention between the instrument panel within the cockpit and the surrounding area of the aircraft. The preliminary part of this study is to find the general patterns of the Korean pilot's eye movements during their various flying maneuvers, and which instruments require the most attention while in flight. It is assumed that all pilots have a general pattern of eye movement when observing the aircraft instrument panel and that an optimum arrangement would be to minimize the eye travel distance between instruments. In this thesis the arrangements of instruments is taken to be the independent variable and the eye travel distance between instruments the dependent variable. la order to compile the information necessary for this study, sixty Korean Air Force pilots were interviewed and requested to complete information forms. These information forms listed various flying maneuvers and listed each instrument used on the instrument panel. The compilation of the information on these completed forms listed the instruments most frequently used by the pilots. The second part of this study was to determine the optimum instrument arrangement. It was necessary to study the various number of possible arrangements of instruments depending upon the number of instruments involved. Therefore, these instruments are grouped by two major functions, The flight instruments were subdivided into three groups, and the engineering instruments were subdivided into six groups. With this subdivision we arrive at the possible number of arrangements of 4,320. Through the simulation method, total eye travel distance for each of these 4,320 arrangements is calculated and the arrangement which appears to be of optimum distance between the most frequently used aircraft instruments is determined. The results of this study indicate that the optimum distance between instruments would be 33,028cm and that the corresponding distance of the instrument panel now being used is 34,288cm. Therefore, an increased efficiency of $3.8\%$ would be realized if the existing aircraft instrument panel were re-arranged according to layout proposed in this thesis.
A computer supported collaborative system provides with a shared virtual workspace over the Internet where its remote users cooperate in order to achieve their goals by overcoming problems caused by distance and time. VRMMS (Virtual Reality Molecular Modeling System) [1] is a VR based collaborative system where biologists can remotely participate in and exercise molecular modeling tasks such as viewing three dimensional structures of molecular models, confirming results of molecular simulations and providing with feedbacks for the next simulations. Biologists can utilize VRMMS in executing molecular simulations. However, first-time users and beginners need to spend some time for studying and practicing in order to skillfully manipulate molecular models and the system. The best way to resolve the problem is to have a face-to-face session of teaching and learning VRMMS. However, it is not practically recommended in the sense that the users are remotely located. It follows that the learning time could last longer than desired. In this paper, we propose to use Second Life [2] combining with VRMMS for removing the problem. It can be used in building a shared workplace over the Internet where molecular simulations using VRMMS can be exercised, taught, learned and practiced. Through the web, users can collaborate with each other using VRMMS. Their avatars and tools of molecular simulations can be remotely utilized in order to provide with senses of 'being there' to the remote users. The users can discuss, teach and learn over the Internet. The shared workspaces for discussion and education are designed and implemented in Second Life. Since the activities in Second Life and VRMMS are designed to realistic, the system is expected to help users in improving their learning and experimental performances.

Aerodynamic sounds generated by a uniform flow around a two-dimensional circular cylinder at Re=150 are simulated by applying the finite difference lattice Boltzmann method. Thethird-order-accurate up-wind scheme (UTOPIA) is used for the spatial derivatives, and the second-order-accurate Runge-Kutta scheme is applied for the time marching. We have succeed in capturing very small pressure fluctuations with the same frequency of the Karman vortex street compared with the pressure fluctuation around a circular cylinder. The propagation velocity of the acoustic waves shows that the points of peak pressure are biased upstream due to the Doppler effect in the uniform flow. For the downstream, on the other hand, it is faster. It is also apparent that the amplitude of sound pressure is proportional to r /sup -1/2/,r being the distance from the center of the circular cylinder. To investigate the effect of the lattice dependence, furthermore, 2D computations of the tone noises radiated by a square cylinder and NACA0012 with a blunt trailing edge at high incidence and low Reynolds number are also investigate.

Detecting grammatical errors from a text is a long-history application. In this paper, we compare the performance of two grammatical error detection techniques, which are implemented as a sub-module of an automated English scoring system. One is to use a full syntactic parser, which has not only grammatical rules but also extra-grammatical rules in order to detect syntactic errors while paring. The other one is to use a finite state machine which can identify an error covering a small range of an input. In order to compare the two approaches, grammatical errors are divided into three parts; the first one is grammatical error that can be handled by both approaches, and the second one is errors that can be handled by only a full parser, and the last one is errors that can be done only in a finite state machine. By doing this, we can figure out the strength and the weakness of each approach. The evaluation results show that a full parsing approach can detect more errors than a finite state machine can, while the accuracy of the former is lower than that of the latter. We can conclude that a full parser is suitable for detecting grammatical errors with a long distance dependency, whereas a finite state machine works well on sentences with multiple grammatical errors.
