Detection of anomalous events from video streams is a challenging problem in many video surveillance applications. One such application that has received significant attention from the computer vision community is traffic video surveillance. In this paper, a Lossy Count based Sequential Temporal Pattern mining approach (LC-STP) is proposed for detecting spatio-temporal abnormal events (such as a traffic violation at junction) from sequences of video streams. The proposed approach relies mainly on spatial abstractions of each object, mining frequent temporal patterns in a sequence of video frames to form a regular temporal pattern. In order to detect each object in every frame, the input video is first pre-processed by applying Gaussian Mixture Models. After the detection of foreground objects, the tracking is carried out using block motion estimation by the three-step search method. The primitive events of the object are represented by assigning spatial and temporal symbols corresponding to their location and time information. These primitive events are analyzed to form a temporal pattern in a sequence of video frames, representing temporal relation between various object's primitive events. This is repeated for each window of sequences, and the support for temporal sequence is obtained based on LC-STP to discover regular patterns of normal events. Events deviating from these patterns are identified as anomalies. Unlike the traditional frequent item set mining methods, the proposed method generates maximal frequent patterns without candidate generation. Furthermore, experimental results show that the proposed method performs well and can detect video anomalies in real traffic video data.

PURPOSES : The Toll Collection System (TCS) operated by the Korea Expressway Corporation provides accurate traffic counts between tollgates within the expressway network under the closed-type toll collection system. However, although origin-destination (OD) matrices for a travel demand model can be constructed using these traffic counts, these matrices cannot be directly applied because it is technically difficult to determine appropriate passenger car equivalent (PCE) values for the vehicle types used in TCS. Therefore, this study was initiated to systematically determine the appropriate PCE values of TCS vehicle types for the travel demand model. METHODS : To search for the appropriate PCE values of TCS vehicle types, a traffic demand model based on TCS-based OD matrices and the expressway network was developed. Using the traffic demand model and a genetic algorithm, the appropriate PCE values were optimized through an approach that minimizes errors between actual link counts and estimated link volumes. RESULTS : As a result of the optimization, the optimal PCE values of TCS vehicle types 1 and 5 were determined to be 1 and 3.7, respectively. Those of TCS vehicle types 2 through 4 are found in the manual for the preliminary feasibility study. CONCLUSIONS : Based on the given vehicle delay functions and network properties (i.e., speeds and capacities), the travel demand model with the optimized PCE values produced a MAPE value of 37.7%, RMSE value of 17124.14, and correlation coefficient of 0.9506. Conclusively, the optimized PCE values were revealed to produce estimates of expressway link volumes sufficiently close to actual link counts.

The most optimal route-search algorithm thus far has introduced a method of applying node labels and link labels. Node labels consider two nodes simultaneously in the optimal route-search process, while link labels consider two links simultaneously. This study proposes a turn-label-based optimal route-search technique that considers two turns simultaneously in the process. Turn-label-based optimal route search guarantees the optimal solution of dynamic programming based on Bellman's principle as it considers a two-turn search process. Turn-label-based optimal route search can accommodate the advantages of applying link labels because the concept of approaching the limit of link labels is applied equally. Therefore, it is possible to reflect rational cyclic traffic where nodes allow multiple visits without expanding the network, while links do not allow visits. In particular, it reflects the additional cost structure that appears in two consecutive turns, making it possible to express the structure of the travel-cost function more flexibly. A case study was conducted on the metropolitan urban railway network consisting of transportation card terminal readers, aiming to examine the scalability of the research by introducing parameters that reflect psychological resistance in travel with continuous pedestrian transfers into turn label optimal path search. Simulation results showed that it is possible to avoid conservative transfers even if the travel time and distance increase as the psychological resistance value for continuous turns increases, confirming the need to reflect the cost structure of turn labels. Nevertheless, further research is needed to secure diversity in the travel-cost functions of road and public-transportation networks.

In MANET, it is important to efficiently manage data objects and traffic to improve network throughput and response time. This paper proposes a connection-degree based data object search and replication scheme in mobile ad-hoc networks. In this method, information about the path data object providers is stored at the cache of a cluster header at which lots of queries arrive, so that, to reduce the load of the cluster header, replicas can be created at its neighboring nodes. The method proposes an algorithm that picks up a cluster header among mobile nodes and makes it possible to search for and utilize adaptive and up-to-date information in MANET. The method is expected to be effective since it enables access to data objects in spite of broken links among mobile nodes with an enhancement in network response time of searching and a decrease in communication costs. The efficiency of this system was verified via simulation.

Due to the tremendous amount and its rapid increase of network traffic, the performance of network equipments are becoming an important issue. Network filtering is one of primary functions affecting the performance of the network equipment such as a firewall or a load balancer to process the packet. In this paper, we propose a cache based tri method to improve the performance of the existing tri method of searching for network filtering. When several packets are exchanged at a time between a server and a client, the tri method repeats the same search procedure for network filtering. However, the proposed method can avoid unnecessary repetition of search procedure by exploiting cache so that the performance of network filtering can be improved. We performed network filtering experiments for the existing method and the proposed method. Experimental results showed that the proposed method could process more packets up to 790,000 per second than the existing method. When the size of cache list is 11, the proposed method showed the most outstanding performance improvement (18.08%) with respect to memory usage increase (7.75%).
The centralized traffic information system is to gather and analyze real-time traffic information, to receive traffic information request from user, and to send user processed traffic information such as a path finding. Position information, result of destination search, and other information. In the centralized traffic information system, a server received path-finding requests from many clients and must process clients requests in time. The algorithm of multiple path-finding is needed for a server to process clients request, effectively in time. For this reason, this paper presents a heuristic algorithm that decreases time to compute path-finding requests. This heuristic algorithm uses results of the neighbor nodes shortest path-finding that are computed periodically. Path-finding results of this multiple path finding algorithm to use results of neighbor nodes shortest path-finding are the same as a real optimal path in many cases, and are a little different from results of a real optimal path in non-optimal path. This algorithm is efficiently applied to the general topology and the hierarchical topology such as traffic network. The computation time of a path-finding request that uses results of a neighbor nodes shortest path-finding is 50 times faster than other algorithms such as one-to-one label-setting and label-correcting algorithms. Especially in non-optimal path, the average error rate is under 0.1 percent.
To understand the meaning of data is a common goal of research on unstructured data. Among these unstructured data, there are difficulties in analyzing the meaning of unstructured data related to corpus and sentences. In the existing researches, the researchers used LSA to select sentences with the most similar meaning to specific words of the sentences. However, it is problematic to examine many sentences continuously. In order to solve unstructured data classification problem, several search sites are available to classify the frequency of words and to serve to users. In this paper, we propose a method of classifying documents by using the frequency of similar words, and the frequency of non-relevant words to be applied as weights, and storing them in terms of a multi-pattern storage. We use Tensorflow's Softmax to the nearby sentences for machine learning, and utilize it for unstructured data analysis and the inference of traffic information.

In this paper, we deal with a ring-mesh network design problem arising from the deployment of WDM for the optical internet. The ring-mesh network consists of ring topology and full mesh topology for satisfying traffic demand while minimizing the cost of OAOMs and OXCs. The problem seeks to find an optimal clustering of traffic demands in the network such that the total number of node assignments is minimized, while satisfying ring capacity and node cardinality constraints. We formulate the problem as a mixed-integer programming model and prescribe a tabu search heuristic procedure Promising computational results within 3% optimality gap are obtained using the proposed method.
Due to recent explosion of information available online, question- answering (Q&A) systems are becoming a compelling framework for finding relevant information in a variety of domains. Question-answering system is one of the best ways to introduce a novice customer to a new domain without making him/her to obtain prior knowledge of its overall structure improving search request with specific answer. However, the current web poses serious problem for finding specific answer for many overlapped meanings for the same questions or duplicate questions also retrieved answer for many overlapped meanings fer the same questions or duplicate questions also retrieved answer is slow due to enhanced network traffic, which leads to wastage of resource. In order to avoid wrong answer which occur due to above-mentioned problem we propose the system using ontology by RDF, RDFS and mobile agent based on JAVA. We also choose wireless internet based embedded device as our test bed for the system and apply the system in E-commerce information domain. The mobile agent provides agent routing with reduced network traffic, consequently helps us to minimize the elapsed time for answers and structured ontology based on our proposed algorithms sorts out the similarity between current and past question by comparing properties of classes.
