Recently, due to the rapid development of multimedia technologies, as image data has been extensive and large-scaled, the problem of increasing the time needed to retrieve the desired image is gradually critical. Image retrieval system that allows users to quickly and accurately search for the desired image information has been researched for a long time. However, in the case of content-based image retrieval representative Color Histogram, Color Coherence Vectors (CCV), Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) used in sensitive to changes in brightness, rotation, there is a problem that can occur misrecognized division off the power. In this paper, in order to evaluate the video retrieval system proposed, no change in brightness, respectively 0°, 90°, 180°, 270° rotated brightness up based on the case of changing, when the brightness down the results were compared with the performance evaluation of the system is an average of about 2% to provide the difference in performance due to changes in brightness, color histogram is an average of about 12.5%, CCV is an average of about 12.25%, it appeared in the SIFT is an average of about 8.5%, Thus, the proposed system of the variation width of the smallest in average about 2%, was confirmed to be robust to changes in the brightness and rotation than the existing systems.

Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate and compare the effects of different graft materials used in alveolar ridge preservation on dimensional hard tissue changes of the alveolar ridge, assessed using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans. Methods: A systematic electronic search of MEDLINE and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials and a manual search were conducted from November 2019 until January 2020. Randomized controlled trials were included if they assessed at least 1 variable related to vertical or horizontal hard tissue changes measured using CBCT scans. After a qualitative analysis of the included studies, subgroups were formed according to the graft material used, and a quantitative analysis was performed for 5 outcome variables: changes in vertical alveolar bone height at 2 points (midbuccal and midpalatal/midlingual) and changes in horizontal (buccolingual) alveolar bone width at 3 different levels from the initial crest height (1, 3, and 5 mm). Results: The search resulted in 1,582 studies, and after an independent 3-stage screening, 16 studies were selected for qualitative analysis and 9 for quantitative analysis. The metaanalysis showed a significantly (P<0.05) lower reduction of alveolar ridge dimensions for the xenogenic subgroup than in the allogenic subgroup, both vertically at the midbuccal aspect (weighted mean difference [WMD]=-0.20; standard error [SE]=0.26 vs. WMD=-0.90; SE=0.22) as well as horizontally at 1 mm (WMD=-1.32; SE=0.07 vs. WMD=-2.99; SE=0.96) and 3 mm (WMD=-0.78; SE=0.11 vs. WMD=-1.63; SE=0.40) from the initial crest height. No statistical analysis could be performed for the autogenic subgroup because it was not reported in sufficient numbers. Conclusions: Less vertical and horizontal bone reduction was observed when xenogenic graft materials were used than when allogenic graft materials were used; however, the loss of alveolar ridge dimensions could not be completely prevented by any graft material.

In this paper, we present a new effective algorithm for element failure compensation of Generalized Sidelobe Canceller (GSC). While the GSC is well formulated, little works have been done on array element compensation in the presence of faulty elements. Element failure changes the problem of a linearly equally spaced array into that of an unequally spaced array. Typical research approaches have been directed at using search techniques to optimize unequally spaced arrays. The proposed algorithm matches the linear constraint conditions and the general shape of the desired beam pattern at the expense of an increase of beam-width in the overall main lobe. Numerical results are included to demonstrate the capability of compensation for various situations.
Large area infrared surveys are often accompanied with follow-up optical spectroscopic surveys that has a significant legacy value even for other areas of research. Using these spectral database, we have performed a search for MgII absorption lines in the optical spectrum of background quasar. Over the ~4deg2 of AKARI North Ecliptic Pole survey field and Spitzer First Look Survey field, 18 and 16 MgII absorber systems are identified respectively. The redshift range for the background quasars was 1.0<$z_{qso}$<3.4, while the redshift range for the absorber was 0.6<$z_{abs}$<1.6. Galaxies responsible for MgII absorptions are identified in the deep optical images (CFHT r-band), yet the identification still remains ambiguous for 60% of the systems due to the limited image depth and the source crowdedness. The impact parameter ranges 20-60kpc, and the rest-frame equivalent width of MgII absorption ranges $0.7-4{\AA}$. The most critical part in the identification of MgII absorber galaxies is the existence of deep optical images in addition to the high S/N quasar spectrum with R>3000.
This paper presents a novel reconfigurable selective harmonic elimination technique to control harmonics over a wide range of Modulation Indexes (MI) in Multi-Level Inverter (MLI). In the proposed method, the region of the MI is divided into various sectors and expressions are formulated with different switching patterns for each of the sectors. A memetic BBO-MAS (Biogeography Based Optimization - Mesh Adaptive direct Search) optimization algorithm is proposed for solving the Selective Harmonic Elimination - Pulse Width Modulation (SHE-PWM) technique. An experimental prototype is developed using a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and their FFT spectrums are analyzed over a wide range of MI using a fluke power logger. Simulation and experimental results have validated the performance of the proposed optimization algorithms and the reconfigurable SHE-PWM technique. Further, the sensitivity of the harmonics has been analyzed considering non-integer variations in the magnitude of the input DC sources.
The kinematical approach of limit analysis is used to estimate the three dimensional stability analysis of rock slopes with nonlinear Hoek-Brown criterion under earthquake forces. The generalized tangential technique is introduced, which makes limit analysis apply to rock slope problem possible. This technique formulates the three dimensional stability problem as a classical nonlinear programming problem. A nonlinear programming algorithm is coded to search for the least upper bound solution. To prove the validity of the present approach, static stability factors are compared with the previous solutions, using a linear failure criterion. Three dimensional seismic and static stability factors are calculated for rock slopes. Numerical results of indicate that the factors increase with the ratio of slope width and height, and are presented for practical use in rock engineering.
This paper proposed the method of creating image mosaic in automated fashion. It is well known that geometric and radiometric balance in adjacent images should be maintained in mosaicking process. The seam line to minimize geometric discontinuity was extracted using Minimum AbsoluteGray-Difference Sum considering constraint condition in search width. To maintain the radiometric balance of images acquired at different time, we utilized Match Cumulative Frequency, Match Mean and Standard Deviation and Hue Adjustment algorithm. The mosaicked image prepared by the proposed method was compared with those of commercial software. Experiments show that seam lines were extracted significantly well from roads, rivers. ridgelines etc. and Match Cumulative Frequency algorithm was performed pretty good in histogram matching

A problem formulation and solution for design optimization of laminated composite channel section beam is presented in this study. The objective of this study is the determination of optimum section dimensions of composite laminated channel section beam which has equivalent flexural rigidities to flexural rigidities of steel channel section beam. The analytical model is based on the laminate theory and accounts for the material coupling for arbitrary laminate stacking sequence configuration. The model is used to determine the optimal section dimensions of composite channel section beam. The web height, flange width and thickness of the beam are treated as design variables. The solutions described are found using a global search algorithm, Genetic Algorithms (GA).
This paper presents a numerical optimization method to design geometric shape of streamwise periodic ribs mounted on one of the principal walls to enhance turbulent heat transfer in a rectangular channel flow. The golden section method is used for the one dimensional search. The optimization is based on Wavier-Stokes analysis of turbulent forced convection with $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model. The width-to-height ratio of a rib is chosen as a design variable. The object function is defined as an inverse of average Nusselt number. An optimum shape of the rib has been obtained with reasonable computing time.
Implant success is achieved by the synergistic combination of numerous biomechanical factors. This report examines the mechanical aspect of implants. In particular, it is focused on macrodesign such as thread shape, pitch, width and depth, and crestal module of implants. This study reviews the literature regarding the effect of implant thread geometry on primary stability and osseointegration under immediate loading. The search strategy included both in vitro and in vivo studies published in the MEDLINE database from January 2000 to June 2014. Various geometrical parameters are analyzed to evaluate their significance for optimal stress distribution, implant surface area, and bone remodeling responses during the process of osseointegration.
