It is reported that mechanical stimulation takes a role in improving cell growth in skeletal system. And various research groups have showed that developed bioreactor to stimulate cell-seeded and threedimensional scaffold. In this study, we designed a custom-made bioreactor capable of applying controlled compression to cell-seeded agarose gel. This device consisted of a circulation system and compression system. In circular system, culture chamber was sealed for prohibiting contamination and media solution was circulated by pump. In compression system, mechanical stimuli were controlled by LabVIEW software and mechanical transfer system. Cell-encapsulated agarose gels were cultured for up to 7 days. There were significant differences between the number of cells grown in dynamic cell culture and in static cell culture from 3 days to 7 days.

This paper presents an experimental investigation on the heat trensfer characteristic of micro pipe (MHP) array with 38 triangular microgrooves. A heat pipe is an effective heat exchanger operating without external power. The heat pipe transfers heat by means of the latent heat of vaporization and two-phase fluid flow driven by the capillary force. The overall size of the MHP array can be put undermeath a microelectonic die and integrated into the electrronic package of a microelectronin device to dissipate the heat from the die. The MHP array is fabricated by micromachining with a silicon wafer and a glass substrate. The MHP was filled with water and sealed. The experimental results show the temperature decrease of 12.1$^{\circ}C$ at the evaporator section for the input power of 5.9 W and the improvement of 28% in the heat transfer rate.

Plasma Display Panel is a display device emitting fluorescent light from gas discharge between a front and a rear panel sealed together. Front and rear panel have multitude of film layers and barrier ribs in the rear panel has the largest area so releasing various gases and affecting light emitting characteristics and lifetime. The remaining gases in a barrier rib were studied by thermal desorption analysis up to $400^{\circ}C$ and main gases were $H_2$$H_2$O, CO. During sustaining at $300^{\circ}C$, the outgassing rates from other gases were decreased but$ H_2$ kept constantly increasing until 1 hour, which can be originated from the dissociation of organics remained in the inside of barrier rib material. In $H_2$O, two distinct peaks were observed: desorption from physically adsorbed one at $l00^{\circ}C$ and from chemically adsorbed one $400^{\circ}C$. The result can be utilized in interpretation of electronic and optical characteristics and evacuation process control of PDP
For the risk assessment of human exposure to volatile halogenated hydrocarbons, a dynamic purge trap/on-column cryofocusing method using capillary gas chromatograph-$^{63}Ni$ electron capture detector and thermal desorption unit was applied to analyze the free forms, metabolites of 1, 1, 2-trichloroethylene and 1, 1, 2, 2-tetrachloroethylene. The urine sample was diluted with distilled water, hydrolyzed and sealed. Then the inert gas was infused to purge out free 1, 1, 2-trichloroethylene, free 1, 1, 2, 2-tetrachloroethylene and urichloroethanol. These compounds were trapped to $Tenax^R$ / GC-gas trap device throughout clean up tube. Being undertectable to gas chromatograph directly, trichloroacetic acid was methyl esterificated and trapped in the manner above mentioned. The optimal incubation time to get best recovery of methyl ester was 4 hours at $60^circ$C. The concentrations of free volatile halogenated hydrocarbons and their metabolites in urine were obtained of free volatile halogenated hydrocarbons and their metabolites in urine were obtained from 5 healthy volunteers. This analytical method is expected to make the biological monitoring more precise and convenient.

T-history method, measuring heat-of-fusion of phase change material (PCM) in sealed tubes, has the advantages of a simple experimental device and no requirements in sampling process. However, a degree of supercooling used in selecting the range of latent heat release and neglecting sensible heat during the phase change process can cause significant errors in determining the heat of fusion in the original method, which has been improved in order to predict better results by us. In the present study, the modified method was applied to a variety of PCM such as paraffin and lauric acid having very small or no supercooling with a satisfactory precision. Also the selection of inflection point and temperature measurement position was fumed out not to affect the accuracy of heat-of-fusion significantly. As a result, the method can provide an appropriate means to assess a new developed PCM by cycle test even if a very accurate value cannot be obtained.

The method to improve the detection sensitivity of Hand-held XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) device currently being developed is discussed. To minimize the loss of the intensity due to atmospheric gas molecules, the vacuum module, which can be filled with atmospheric or He gas, between the sample and the detector was installed. And the change of the detection sensitivity was measured in a vacuum and in the He gas-filled state. As a result, the following three important results were obtained; Firstly, XRF intensity was increased 2~4 times in the low energy range (3~4 keV). It is a very important result because the enhancement of the detection sensitivity means shortening of the detection time in Hand-held XRF device. Secondly, the possibility of detection of the elements less than 3 keV in emission energy was confirmed. Thirdly, the absorption by atmospheric gas molecules can be minimized without vacuum- sealed vessel in Hand-held XRF device, if the vacuum module filled with He gas is used. We concluded that all of three results are very meaningful in the development of a Hand-held XRF device.

We have developed a laser-based needle-free liquid drug-injection device. A laser beam is focused inside the liquid contained in the rubber chamber of a micro-scale. The focused laser beam causes explosive bubble growth, and the sudden volume increase in a sealed chamber drives a microjet of liquid drug through the micronozzle. The exit diameter of a nozzle is less than 100 ${\mu}m$, and we verify that the injected microjet is fast enough to penetrate soft human tissue. In the experiment, the microjet penetrated a 5% gelatin-water solution that replicates the human thrombus and pork-fat tissue.

8$\times$8 bit scaled SONOSFET NAND type flash EEPROM that shows better characteristics on cell density and endurance than NOR type have been designed and its electrical characteristics are verified with computer aided simulation. For the simulation, the spice model parameter was extracted from the sealed down SONOSFET that was fabricated by $1.5mutextrm{m}$ topological design rule. To improve the endurance of the device, the EEPROM design to have modified Fowler-Nordheim tunneling through the whole channel area in Write/Erase operation. As a result, it operates Write/Erase operation at low current, and has been proven Its good endurance. The NAND type flash EEPROM, which has upper limit of V$_{th}$, has the upper limit of V$_{th}$ as 4.5V. It is better than that of floating gate as 4V. And a EEPROM using the SONOSFET without scaling (65$\AA$-l65$\AA$-35$\AA$), was also designed and its characteristics have been compared. It has more possibliity of error from the V$_{th}$ upper limit as 4V, and takes more time for Read operation due to low current. As a consequence, it is proven that scaled down SONOSFET is more pertinent than existing floating gate or SONOSFET without scaling for the NAND type flash EEPROM.EPROM.

Cantilever-shaped lateral field emitters were fabricated and their electrical characteristics were tested. As shown in Fig.1, poly-silicon cantilevers were fabricated by the surface micromachining and they were used to the vacuum magnetic field sensors. The tunneling devices were vacuum sealed with the tubeless packaging method, as shown in Fig.2 and Fig.3. The soda-lime glasses were used for better encapsulation, so the sputtered silicon and the glass layers on the soda-lime glasses were bonded together at 1x10$^{-6}$ Torr. The getter was activated after the vacuum sealing fur the stable emissions. The devices were tested outside of the vacuum chamber. Through vacuum packaging, the tunneling sensors can be utilized. Fig.4 shows that the sensor operates with the switching of the magnetic field. When the magnetic field was applied to the device, the anode currents were varied by the Lorentz force. The difference of anode currents can be varied with the strength of the applied magnetic field.

An eSeal(Electrical Seal) is an active RFID device which installed on the door of a container. The main role of the tag is to make sure the seal is not breaking by unauthorized people. Because an eSeal uses RFID system, we need to prevent eavesdrop and impersonate. Moreover, an eSeal which uses a secure protocol must not be able to duplicate. If duplication resistant property is not provide to a eSeal, an attacker may replace a object in the sealed container and reseal the container with duplicated eseal to hide breaking of the eSeal. In this paper, we provide a protocol which resist duplicate an eSeal during prevent eavesdrop and impersonation.
