실선시운전시험을 통한 예부선의 조종 특성 연구 (Maneuvering Characteristics of Tug-Barge from the Results of Sea Trial Test)

  • 예선이 부선을 선미예인하고 있는 상황에서의 예부선 조종특성을 확인하기 위하여, 예선 단독 실선시운전과 예부선 통합 실선시운전 시험을 수행하였다. 속력시험, 가감속시험, 10도 선회시험, 20도 선회시험, 10도 지그재그시험, 20도 지그재그시험을 통하여 다양한 상황에서의 예선과 부선의 운항 특성을 확인하였다. 그 결과, 부선이 선미예인되는 경우, 예선의 전술선회직경은 예선 단독운항일 때보다 증가하며, 선수동요각 변화율이 낮음을 확인하였고, 침로 변경을 함에 있어 부선의 선수동요각 변화가 늦고, 오버슈트각이 큰 것을 확인하였다. 또한 선회나 침로 변경 시, 부선의 선회궤적이 예선의 선회궤적 안쪽에도 존재할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 따라서 부선을 선미예인하는 운항자는, 선회 및 침로변경 시 예부선의 선회궤적, 예부선의 선수동요각 변화시간 및 오버슈트각이 증가하는 것을 충분히 인지하고 운항해야 할 것으로 판단된다.

시스템검증법에 의한 조종성능해석연구 (Maneuverability Analysis of a Ship by System Indentification technique)

  • When the hydrodynamic coefficients of the ship maneuvering equation are estimated by captive model test, it is difficult to take account of the scale effect between model and full scale ship. This scale effect problem can be overcome by processing the sea trial data with system identification. Extended Kalman filter is used as a system identification technique for the modification of the simulation equation as well as the estimation of hydrodynamic coefficients. The phenomena of simultaneous drifting of linear coefficients occur. It is confirmed that two coefficients in each pair-($Y_v$', $Y_r$' -m' u'), ($N_v$', $N_r$' )-are simultaneously drifting and all 4 coefficients are simultaneously drifting together. Particularly simultaneous drifting of 2 coefficients in each pair is more significant. It is also shown that the simultaneous drifting of 4 coefficients can be reduced by choosing the input data which have the random v'/r' curve and 4 coefficients are estimated within 2-4% error, which may be noise level. So, it is recommended to operate the rudder randomly in sea trial or model test for the application of system identification technique.

선형개조 선망선의 조종성능 (Maneuvering character of hull form renovated tuna purse seiner)

  • In an attempt to improve the maneuvering character of hull form renovated tuna purse seiner. A renovation was carried out on the 3 tuna purse seiner fishing vessel. To grasp the progress of maneuvering and resistance on ship B (730 ton class), new bulbous bow was only attached. The ship A (740 ton class) and C (600 ton class) were modified for new bulbous bow, enlarged slipway and rudder. And then the zigzag and the turning test were carried out. According to the turning test, the advance and the tactical diameter were improved very much for the modified ship. The sea trial was carried out for the original and modified ship A. It is showed that the results of sea trial corresponded with that of the tank test on the whole. In the result of the zigzag test on ship B, the turning ability was improved very much, but the yaw checking ability was deteriorated in just some degree. In the result of the zigzag test on ship C, the turning ability and yaw checking ability were remarkably improved. Ship C was greatly improved among the three ships for the maneuvering character of modified hull form.

  • This paper deals with the sea trial results of a fast craft with the hybrid supported type hul form. waterjet propulsion system and motion control system. The hybrid-type container ship operable in the sea with a wave height of y6 m, a speed of 50 knots and a payload of 1,500 tons were designed. A 1/8 scale 10 m- long test craft was constructed and tested in open seas. The hydrodynamic performance such as speed, turning, motion control in waves and waterjet thrush was analyzed.

공기윤활시스템 적용 선박의 시운전 속도성능에 대한 불확실성 해석 (Uncertainty Analysis of Improved Speed Performance of a Ship with an Air-Lubrication System in a Sea Trial)

  • 선박의 해상 시운전 중 속도성능시험은 선박의 속도를 입증하기 위한 중요한 시험항목 중 하나이다. 국제표준화기구에서는 2015년 시운전 속도성능시험에 관한 표준 가이드라인을 제정한 바 있다. 일반적인 해상상태에서는 바람과 파도등 환경적 외란의 영향이 언제나 존재하므로, 정확한 전달동력을 추정하기란 불가능 하다. 또한 외란의 영향으로 최근 개발되고 있는 에너지 절감장치의 개선효과를 정확히 평가하는 것도 쉽지 않다. 본 연구에서는 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 공기윤활시스템을 장착한 선박의 동력 절감량에 관한 불확실성 해석을 수행하였다. 그 결과 공기윤활시스템 가동으로 3.2%의 동력이 절감되었으며, 절감된 동력의 확장불확도는 95% 신뢰수준 (k = 2)에서 약 ± 2.7 % 범위를 갖는 것으로 나타났다.

남극 아문젠해에서 계측된 해빙의 재료특성 비교 분석 (A Comparative Analysis of Sea Ice Material Properties in the Amundsen Sea, Antarctica)

  • Field trial in ice-covered sea is one of the most important tasks in the design of icebreaking ships. To correctly estimate ice load and ice resistance on ship's hull, It is essential to understand the material properties of sea ice during ice field trials and to perform the proper experimental procedure by gathering sea ice data. A measurement of sea ice properties was conducted during February and March of 2012 with the Korean Icebreaking research vessel "ARAON" in the Amundsen Sea, Antarctica. This paper describes a test procedure to obtain sea ice data which provide basic information to estimate ice loads and icebreaking performance of the ship. The data gathered from sea ice field trials during the 2012 Antarctic voyage of the ARAON includes ice temperature/salinity/density and the compressive/flexural strength of sea ice. This paper analyses the gathered Antarctic sea ice material properties comparing with the previous data obtained during ARAON's Arctic and Antarctic voyages in 2010.

수치 시뮬레이션 방법을 이용한 어업실습선 백경호의 조종성 추정 (Estimation of maneuverability of fisheries training vessel BAEK-KYUNG using numerical simulation method)

  • Most fishing vessels are less than 100 m in length (LBP), which is not mandatory for the IMO standards for ship maneuverability. Therefore, research on estimating the maneuverability of fishing vessel hull shapes are somewhat lacking compared to that of merchant ship hull shapes, and at the design stage, the numerical simulation method developed for merchant ships are applied without modification to estimate the maneuverability. Since this can cause estimation errors, the authors have derived a modified empirical formula that can improve the accuracy of estimating the maneuverability of fishing vessels in a previous study. In this study, using the modified empirical formula, the IMO maneuverability evaluation items, the turning motion test and Z-test simulations were performed on the fisheries training vessel BAEK-KYUNG and compared with the sea trial test result to verify the validity of the modified empirical formula. In conclusion, the modified empirical formula was able to estimate quantitatively and qualitatively similar to the result of the sea trial test. Such a study on estimating the maneuverability of fishing vessels will be a good indicator for fishing vessel operators and will help them analyze marine accidents.

구속모형실험을 통한 부선의 조종성능 추정 (Study on the Maneuverability of Barge by Captive Model Test)

  • 부선이 선미 예인되는 상황에서의 예부선 통합시뮬레이션을 수행하기 위하여, 본 연구에서는 부선 단독 조종성능 추정을 위한 구속모형실험을 수행하였다. 구속모형실험결과로부터 부선 실선의 저항성능을 추정하였고, 도출된 유체력 미계수를 이용하여 선회시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 부선의 선회시뮬레이션을 위해 부선에 작용하는 예인력의 힘과 방향을 단순히 모델링하고, 예인줄 방향각 변화에 따른 선회시뮬레이션 결과 비교와 실선시운전시험결과와의 선회직경 비교를 통하여 수학모델을 검증하였다. 그 결과 예인줄 방향각이 커질수록 선회직경이 작아지는 정성적인 경향을 확인하였고, 실선시운전결과와 비교 시 배수량 차이 등에 의하여 선회직경이 작게 추정되는 결과를 확인하였다.

조종자 입력패턴을 활용한 RIB형 무인선의 침로제어기 설계 (Design of Course Keeping Controller for RIB-type USV Using a Pilot's Steering Pattern)

  • A new course keeping controller for RIB(Rigid Inflatable Boat)-type USV(Unmanned Surface Vehicle) is developed using pilot's steering pattern. A pilot's simple steering pattern is found out from various course change tests. It is used to course keeping algorithm, suitable for large course change more than 60 degrees. To validate the course keeping controller, sea trial tests are conducted. From sea trial test, new course keeping controller shows good performance with less overshoot, maximum roll angle less than $20^{\circ}$, which makes it possible that fast course changes without slip motion of USV.

수중함 소나 수신성능 향상을 위한 음향창 접착제 배합비 개선 (A Study on the Improvement of Adhesive Mixing Ratio about Acoustic Window for Enhancing SONAR Performance of Submarine)

  • This study suggest the improvement of the CFRP adhesive mixing ratio about acoustic window to enhance SONAR performance. The CFRP of submarine is produced by allocation an acoustic window zone by the beam width of SONAR sensors. During the sea trial, SONAR system's bearing and range accuracy data is not in tolerance due to debonding phenomenon on CFRP. The inappropriate mixing ratio of adhesives caused that peeling phenomenon occurred in the acoustic window part, which is the reason for the deterioration of SONAR sensors performance. The report includes explanation of test procedure of SONAR, root cause analysis, CFRP manufacturing procedure, laboratory tests results, and proof of the performance at the sea trial.
