  • In this paper, we propose a new training system for the improvement of equilibrium sense using unstable platform. The equilibrium sense, which provides orientation with respect to gravity, is important to integrate the vision, somatosensory and vestibular function to maintain the equilibrium sense of the human body. In order to improve the equilibrium sense, we developed the software program such as a block game, pingpong game using Visual C++. These training system for the equilibrium sense consists of unstable platform, computer interface and software program. The unstable platform was a simple structure of elliptical-type which included tilt sensor, wireless RF module and the device of power supply. To evaluate the effect of balance training, we measured and evaluated the parameters as the moving time to the target, duration to maintain cursor in the target of screen and the error between sine curve and acquired data. As a results, the moving time to the target and duration to maintain cursor in the target was improved through the repeating training of equilibrium sense. It was concluded that this system was reliable in the evaluation of equilibrium sense. This system might be applied to clinical use as an effective balance training system.

  • As smartphones came into wide use recently, it has become increasingly popular not only among young people, but among middle-aged people as well. Most smartphones adopt capacitive full touch screen, so touch commands are made by fingers unlike the PDAs in the past that use touch pens. In this case, a significant portion of the smartphone's screen is blocked by the finger so it is impossible to see the screens around the finger touching the screen; this causes difficulties in making precise inputs. To solve this problem, this research proposes a method of using simple AR markers to improve the interface of smartphones. A marker is placed in front of the smartphone camera. Then, the camera image of the marker is analyzed to determine the position of the marker as the position of the mouse cursor. This method can enable click, double-click, drag-and-drop used in PCs as well as touch, slide, long-touch-input in smartphones. Through this research, smartphone inputs can be made more precise and simple, and show the possibility of the application of a new concept of smartphone interface.

Sticker-form marker is attached to fingernails and placed in front of the smartphone camera Then, the camera image of the marker is analyzed to determine the orientation of the marker to perceive as onRelease() or onPress() of the mouse depending on the marker's angle of rotation, and use its position as the position of the mouse cursor. • Multimedia consumer electronics(CE) devices, such as MP3 players, PMPs, and digital cameras, are electronic equipments used to record, play or create multimedia data. Most multimedia CE devices provide uses with the ability to search multimedia stored in the device and browse the search results. One of the unique requirements in multimedia CE devices is that the search results displayed in the screen must be restored quickly when the device powers off and later back on. For this purpose, the existing methods (1) re-execute the original search query, and (2) move the cursor to the original position in the search results. However, this approach may be inefficient when the number of records in the result set is large. In this paper, we propose an efficient method for multimedia CE devices that can quickly restore the search results displayed in the screen when the device powers off and later back on. The proposed method can retrieve the original search results in the screen quickly by saving and loading some information about the query evaluation plan. Though the performance evaluation, we show that the proposed method provides excellent performance regardless of the number of records in tile result set or the original cursor position.

  • In this paper, we propose new algorithm for positioning of mouse cursor using fingertip direction on kinect depth camera. The proposed algorithm uses center of parm points from distance transform when fingertip point toward screen. Otherwise, algorithm use fingertip points. After image preprocessing, the center of parm points is calculated from distance transform results. If the direction of the finger towards the camera becomes close to the distance between the fingertip point and center of parm point, it is possible to improve the accuracy of positioning by using the center of parm point. After remove arm on image, the fingertip points is obtained by using a pixel on the long distance from the center of the image. To calculate accuracy of mouse positioning, we selected any 5 points. Also, we calculated error rate between reference points and mouse points by performed 500 times. The error rate results could be confirmed the accuracy of our algorithm indicated an average error rate of less than 11%.

  • The non-contact eye tracking is a nonintrusive human-computer interface providing hands-free communications for people with severe disabilities. Recently. it is expected to do an important role in non-contact systems due to the recent coronavirus COVID-19, etc. This paper proposes a novel approach for an eye mouse using an eye tracking method based on a context-aware based AdaBoost multi-region classifier and ASSL algorithm. The conventional AdaBoost algorithm, however, cannot provide sufficiently reliable performance in face tracking for eye cursor pointing estimation, because it cannot take advantage of the spatial context relations among facial features. Therefore, we propose the eye-region context based AdaBoost multiple classifier for the efficient non-contact gaze tracking and mouse implementation. The proposed method detects, tracks, and aggregates various eye features to evaluate the gaze and adjusts active and semi-supervised learning based on the on-screen cursor. The proposed system has been successfully employed in eye location, and it can also be used to detect and track eye features. This system controls the computer cursor along the user's gaze and it was postprocessing by applying Gaussian modeling to prevent shaking during the real-time tracking using Kalman filter. In this system, target objects were randomly generated and the eye tracking performance was analyzed according to the Fits law in real time. It is expected that the utilization of non-contact interfaces.

  • In this paper, we propose a digital signage method that can control the contents of the screen and download the desired files to individual smart terminal with no touch of digital signage screen by using Kinect. The main features and contributions of the proposed method are as follows. First, can solve the problems such as the risk of bacterial infection, not cleanliness on the screen as well as maximize advertising effectiveness. Second, can support bi-directional communications with computer while we touch only wanted advertisements. The performance evaluation shows the effectiveness of the proposed method. Especially, we can see that the proposed system operates through the recognition of user's actions when the cursor is within the scope of a certain coordinate and the file transfer time to download information is different depending on the PC performance and the version of personal smart device.

  • As interactive multimedia have come into wide use, user interfaces such as remote controllers or classical computer mice have several limitations that cause inconvenience. We propose a vision-based pointing device to resolve this problem. We analyzed the moving image from the camera which is embedded in the pointing device and estimate the movement of the device. The pose of the cursor can be determined from this result. To process in the real time, we used the low resolution of $288{\times}208$ pixel camera and comer points of the screen were tracked using local optical flow method. The distance from screen and device was calculated from the size of screen in the image. The proposed device has simple configurations, low cost, easy use, and intuitive handhold operation like traditional mice. Moreover it shows reliable performance even in the dark condition.

  • Lacan's Identification theory has been applied to various cultural genres such as literature, film, media so on. Especially, Identification theory in Film Theory gives game researchers who try to apply identification theory to the game, a concrete base. This paper aims to explain the gamer's action through identification theory. Thus, we divide identification into the level of the gamer's point of view and that of the character in game text. While point-on-view of identification, the primary identification, in film has been explained that the audience identifies with camera's point-of view, in game one identifies with various point-of-views. There are two aspects of Identification of characters in game. First, gamers identify themselves with moving images on screen. Second, They identify with the roles given to themselves. The factors which allow them identification are suppression of false statement system, interpolation and process of selection, arrangement, a cursor, colours on screen.
