식품 중 유해물질 과학적 관리: 잔류농약을 중심으로 (Scientific management of hazardous substances in foods: Focusing on pesticide residues)

  • The government should establish internationally harmonious regulations for effective import and export of necessary resources to other countries. However, the use and the number of pesticides used for the same purpose on same crops are depending on the soil and the climate where the crops are grown. Therefore, if internationally harmonized standards are difficult to establish, it is mandatory to conduct a risk assessment based on scientific data to reflect the domestic situation in order to avoid trade friction or conflict between countries. The government is preparing the implementation of a more regulated PLS (positive list systme) than the existing pesticide management system for safer pesticide management reflecting the recent increasing imported food, changing dietary habits, and changing climate. In order for effectively safe and scientific management of pesticides, the government should strive to communicate with consumers properly and the perception of pesticides by consumers should also be changed.

  • 과학용 소프트웨어는 전문가 수준의 깊이있는 도메인 지식 요구 등과 같이 고유한 특성들로 인하여 전통적인 응용소프트웨어와는 다른 개발 프로세스가 요구된다. 본 연구에서 우리는 과학용 소프트웨어 개발을 위하여 RE(Reverse Engineering)과 TDD(Test-Driven Development)에 기반한 V&V 개발 프로세스를 제안하였다. 또한 실제 프로젝트에 가상 시나리오를 구성하고 적용하여 절차를 검증하고 정교화 하였다. 과학용 소프트웨어 개발을 목적으로 제안된 본 연구의 개발 프로세스는 고품질, 고 신뢰성을 제공할 수 있는 소프트웨어 개발 및 적용에 기여할 것이다. 또한 본 연구는 과학용 소프트웨어 개발 및 연구의 저변 확산의 계기가 될 것으로 기대된다.

  • In recent, ISM (Industrial Scientific Medical) band that is 2.4GHz band authorized free of charge is being widely used for smart phone, notebook computer, printer and portable multimedia devices. Accordingly, studies have been continuously conducted on the possibility of coexistence among nodes using ISM band. In particular, the interference of IEEE 802.11b based Wi-Fi device using overlapping channel during communication among IEEE 802.15.4 based wireless sensor nodes suitable for low-power, low-speed communication using ISM band causes serious network performance deterioration of wireless sensor networks. This paper examined a method of identifying channel status to avoid interference among wireless communication devices using IEEE 802.11b (Wi-Fi) and other ISM bands during communication among IEEE 802.15.4 based wireless sensor network nodes in ISM band. To identify channels occupied by Wi-Fi traffic, various studies are being conducted that use the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) value of interference signal obtained through ED (Energy Detection) feature that is one of IEEE 802.15.4 transmitter characteristics. This paper examines an algorithm that identifies the possibility of using more accurate channel by mixing utilization of interference signal and RSSI mean value of interference signal by wireless sensor network nodes. In addition, it verifies such algorithm by using OPNET Network verification simulator.

이공계 대학생의 커뮤니케이션 역량 분석 및 교육콘텐츠 개발 방안 연구 (A Study on Communication Competency Analysis and Development Plan of Educational Content for Engineering Undergraduates)

  • 본 연구는 이공계 대학생들의 커뮤니케이션 역량을 범주화하여 분석하고 그 결과를 토대로 향후 이공계 대학생의 커뮤니케이션 역량 향상을 위한 교육 콘텐츠 개발 방안을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이 연구에서 이공계 대학생의 커뮤니케이션 역량은 비판적 사고력, 과학적 소통력, 미디어리터러시 세 영역으로 범주화 하였다. 또한 커뮤니케이션 역량을 향상시키기 위한 수단으로써 이공계 글쓰기에 대한 경험과 인식을 조사하였다. 연구결과, 이공계 대학생의 커뮤니케이션 역량은 전반적으로 향상될 필요가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 실습중심의 비판적 사고력을 향상시킬 수 있는 글쓰기 프로그램에 대한 요구도가 높게 나타났다. 교육 콘텐츠로는 플립러닝 등 스마트교육기반 프로그램, E-커뮤니티, 액션러닝 기반 문제해결력 향상 프로그램, 협동학습 프로그램, 성찰 저널 및 포트폴리오, 협업형 글쓰기 프로그램 등을 제안하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 이공계 학생을 대상으로 한 커뮤니케이션 역량중심 교육과정 설계와 현장에서의 구체적인 적용과 실천 지침을 제공하는데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

실내 M2M 서비스를 위한 TVWS 전파 환경 분석 (Analysis TVWS Propagation Environment for Indoor M2M Service)

  • 본 논문은 건물 내 환경에서 기존의 ISM(Industrial Scientific and Medical) 대역과 TVWS(TV White Space) 대역의 전파 특성을 이론 및 실험을 통하여 비교 분석하고, TVWS의 우수한 전파 특성을 확인한다. 이를 위하여 빌딩 전파 환경에서 503 MHz와 2.4 GHz의 중심 주파수를 갖는 전파 신호를 발생시켜 위치에 따른 수신 전력 강도를 측정하고, 측정한 경로 손실을 확인한다. 여기서 이론적 경로 손실을 계산하기 위하여 Hata, Extended Hata, Extended Hata(SRD), ITU-R P.1238 모델을 이용하였고, 측정한 경로 손실 값과의 비교 분석을 통하여 실내 환경에서 채널 모델의 신뢰성 정도를 분석한다.

The Role of Stem Cells and Gap Junctional Intercellular Communication in Carcinogenesis

  • Understanding the process of carcinogenesis will involve both the accumulation of many scientific facts derived from molecular, biochemical, cellular, physiological, whole animal experiments and epidemiological studies, as well as from conceptual understanding as to how to order and integrate those facts. From decades of cancer research, a number of the "hallmarks of cancer" have been identified, as well as their attendant concepts, including oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes, cell cycle biochemistry, hypotheses of metastasis, angiogenesis, etc. While all these "hallmarks" are well known, two important concepts, with their associated scientific observations, have been generally ignored by many in the cancer research field. The objective of the short review is to highlight the concept of the role of human adult pluri-potent stem cells as "target cells" for the carcinogenic process and the concept of the role of gap junctional intercellular communication in the multi-stage, multi-mechanism process of carcinogenesis. With these two concepts, an attempt has been made to integrate the other well-known concepts, such as the multi-stage, multi-mechanisn or the "initiation/promotion/progression" hypothesis; the stem cell theory of carcinogenesis; the oncogene/tumor suppression theory and the mutation/epigenetic theories of carcinogenesis. This new "integrative" theory tries to explain the well-known "hallmarks" of cancers, including the observation that cancer cells lack either heterologous or homologous gap junctional intercellular communication whereas normal human adult stem cells do not have expressed or functional gap junctional intercellular communication. On the other hand, their normal differentiated, non-stem cell derivatives do express connexins and express gap junctional intercellular communication during their differentiation. Examination of the roles of chemical tumor promoters, oncogenes, connexin knock-out mice and roles of genetically-engineered tumor and normal cells with connexin and anti-sense connexin genes, respectively, seems to provide evidence which is consistent with the roles of both stem cells and gap junctional communication playing a major role in carcinogenesis. The integrative hypothesis provides new strategies for chemoprevention and chemotherapy which focuses on modulating connexin gene expression or gap junctional intercellular communication in the premalignant and malignant cells, respectively.

  • Various successful TQM procedures have contributed to solve the problems in actual business, but recently it is required to more speedily perform the improvement activity and to challenge solving foreseen latent engineering problems in addition to existing ones. This paper proposes a new scientific methodology which enables us to perform the requirements and to improve the principle of TQM. The performance of the proposed method is illustrated through same practical studies.

핵심역량과 과학과 교과역량에 대한 초등 교사의 인식 분석 (Analysis of Awareness of Teachers for Core Competencies and Scientific Core Competencies)

  • The purpose of this study was getting the information for successful application to the national curriculum and students' core competencies enhancement, through investigation about competencies discussed in 2015 revised national curriculum development process and analysis about perception of 150 elementary school teachers in study. The results were as follows : Communication skill is considered to be the most important. Thinking ability what has been important traditionally is the middle of the rankings. Elementary school teachers think that a competency is specific to a subject. From this point of view, Creative/Scientific Problem-Solving Ability is the most important in science. They think that the enhancing of the ability of inquiry performance is highlighted in current science class. On elementary school teachers' awareness, inquiry model is the most effective in enhancing of scientific thinking and the ability of inquiry performance. And STS instruction model is in the other. PBL learning model and experimental inquiry model is the most effective in enhancing a competency has the highest feasibility like scientific thinking or the ability of inquiry performance.

'먹이 그물과 먹이 피라미드' 모형 구성에서 나타난 초등학생의 추론 유형 (Elementary Student's Reasoning Patterns Represented in Constructing Models of 'Food Web and Food Pyramid')

  • The purpose of this study was to explore ecological concepts, epistemological reasoning and reasoning processes through constructing 'food web and food pyramid' in ecology. We conducted classes which involved a 'food web and food pyramid' for $6^{th}$ grade students. Each class is constructed of small groups to do modeling and epistemological reasoning through communication. The researcher had videotaped and recorded each class and have made transcription about classes. We analysed patterns of 'food web and food pyramid models' and reasoning processes according to scientific epistemology using transcription data and student outputs. As a result, students represented phenomenon-based reasoning, relation-based reasoning and model-based reasoning in scientific epistemology from their modeling. Students usually did relation-based reasoning and model-based reasoning in food web which explains ecological phenonenon, while they usually did model-based reasoning in food pyramid which expects ecological phenomenon. Student's reasoning can be limited when they have misconception of scientific knowledge and are limited by fragmentary knowledge. This represents that students has to do relation-based reasoning and model-based reasoning is beneficial in their ecological model. It also suggests that students need to define correct-conception related to ecological modeling(food web, food pyramid).

스키드마크를 이용한 교통사고 조사 (Investigation of Traffic Accident using Skid Mark)

  • 교통사고가 발생 한 경우에 스키드마크는 자동차 속도 산출을 위해서 매우 중요한 요소이다. 객관적이고, 과학적인 수사를 위해, 교통 사고는 공정한 기록에 의해서, 컴퓨터 모의 실험, 및 학문, 그리고 충돌 사고 역동성, 도로 및 교통 공학으로 검증되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는, 교통사고, 과학, 객관적인 방법을 이용하여 진짜 교통사고 및 결과를 재현하였다. 모의실험 결과 포장도로와 비포장도로에서는 비포장도로의 제동시간이 포장도로의 제동시간 보다 짧다는 것이 입증되었다.
