The objection of this present study are (1) measurement of patient's expectation toward quality care of dental services. (2) Analysis of differential expectation of dental service by the patient characteristics and (3) presentation of measurement implication for better dental service at the dental clinic. The data used in the study were collected from April 25 to June 9, 2001 and for 77 patients of university dental hospital and 102 patients of dental clinic. The study found, in general, that patient's expectation on the clinic environmental factor was most highly scored followed by dental human factors. The convenience of transportation from the patient's residence to the clinic was highly concerned as be an important factor in dental service utilization.
This study was conducted to investigate which food items are perceived as HANSIK (Korean food) in Korea. 562 males and females aged 20-70 were surveyed on 512 most frequently consumed dish items from 4th Korean National Health and Nutrition Survey if they perceive it as HANSIK. Dish items in kimchi, namul sukchae (cooked and seasoned vegetable) and jeotgal (salt-fermented food) category showed high response rate to be perceived as HANSIK. The response rate of twigim (frying foods) as HANSIK was low showing less than 70%. The response rate as HANSIK for foreign origin foods such as ramen and jjajangmyeon (black bean paste noodle) were lower than 25%. In jang yangnyum (seasoning) category, doenjang (soybean paste) and gochujang (red pepper paste) showed high response rate as HANSIK more than 90%. Females showed a higher response rate as HANSIK than males for most food items except several items of myen mandu (noodle and dumpling). The younger age group had higher HANSIK perception on many items of recently consumed foods, especially budae-jjigae (spicy sausage stew) (p < 0.001) and jwipo-jorim (braised dried filefish) (p < 0.001), implying that they already accept the common foods as HANSIK regardless of the origin. These results provide an information on the foods perceived as HANSIK among currently consumed common foods in Korea and these results can be utilized for establishment of HANSIK concept reflecting transition of dietary life in Korea.
This study conducted a survey targeting at dental hygienists working in medical institutions located in Daegu, Pusan, Ulsan Metropolitan City and Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk Province from July 18th to August 26th 2011, in order to study factors which affect radiation safety management behaviors and improve levels of those behaviors. The results of this study are as follows. 1. There were significant differences in radiation safety management knowledge of dental hygienists, according to service institutions (p<.001), the current state of defense facilities (p<.006) and the necessity for safety management education (p<.012). 2. There were significant differences in radiation safety management attitudes, according to age (p<.014), service institutions (p<.003), work experience (p<.009), educational level (p<.002), the current state of defense facilities (p<.015), the necessity for safety management education (p<.005) and the intention to take part in the education (p<.036). 3. There were significant differences in radiation safety management behaviors, depending on experience in safety management education (p<.068), measurement of exposed dose (p<.010), the state of defense facilities (p<.001). 4. There were statistically positive correlations between radiation safety management knowledge and attitude, and between radiation safety management attitude and behavior (p<.05). 5. The regular measurement of exposed dose (p<.046) and the present state of defense facilities (p<.001) were found to be factors to affect radiation safety management behaviors. In conclusion, it is considered that building perfect defense facilities of radiology rooms and measuring the exposed does of dental hygienists on a regular basis to alert them to the danger of radiation is considerably important to improve radiation safety management behaviors.
The aim of this study was to analyze the factors related to whole saliva flow and the xerostomia for the ground use of the materials in developing oral health improvement program and life quality improvement program. So, this study performed a questionnaire survey, targeting at 160 adults, older than 40 years, living in Gyeonggi and Incheon provinces from January to February 2011 and measured unstimulated salivary flow rate and stimulated salivary flow rate. The results are as followings. The group of participants who took gums and candies to relieve oral dryness had low stimulated whole saliva flow. The group of participants who graduated from middle schools, who separated by death, who were not healthy with menopause, and who recognized periodontal disease symptoms and tongue burning sensation recognized more symptoms of dry mouth than others. In addition, the group of participants who were not satisfied with life so much, who couldn't feel the meaning of life, and who recognized negative feelings frequently recognized symptoms of dry mouth more. Women, the group of participants who graduated from middle schools, who suffered from depressive symptoms, and who recognized halitosis had low unstimulated whole saliva flow. The group of participants who graduated from middle schools, who were not satisfied with life so much, who couldn't feel the meaning of life, and who were not satisfied with themselves had low stimulated saliva flow.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the indoor air quality of medical institutions and to present the detailed management plan by analyzing the actual situation of management and analyzing the difference according to the place in a convergent. ($PM_{10}$), carbon dioxide ($CO_2$), formaldehyde (HCHO), total aerobic bacteria (TAB) and carbon monoxide (CO) were investigated in 153 hospitals in Busan. As a result, The overall output average did not exceed the maintenance criteria, but the maximum values for each item were 91% for $PM_{10}$, 97% for $CO_2$, 96% for HCHO, and 99% for bioaesol. And It is confirmed that this is very close to the standard. In addition, the results of each place showed different values according to each feature, but there was no significant difference in the results of five measurements. In conclusion, Indoor air in medical institution considering the characteristics should be performed systematic and detailed management of ventilation facilities and energy problems.
This study aimed to seek the way of effectively managing job stress of shift work nurses, to improve nursing performance, the influence of job stress of shift work nurses on nursing performance through convergence research. A total of 244 questionnaires obtained by a survey targeting nurses, who were doing shift work in a university hospital located in B city, in the period from March 2 to 15, 2015 were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. As a result, the mean score of job stress was 3.57 points, and the mean score of nursing performance was 3.69 points. Job stress made a significant positive(+) influence on the sub-dimensions of interpersonal duty. Therefore, efforts should be made to more accurately identify shift work nurses' job stress and efficiently manage the nursing personnel. Moreover, if shift work nurses' job stress is effectively managed by preparing practical job stress management intervention programs for continuous improvement of nursing performance, high quality medical services will be provided through high quality nursing practice.
In this study, the convergent relation between perception of patient safety culture and safety nursing activity was investigated to prevent safety accidents and prepare data of nursing intervention for patient safety. Nurses in B City who signed on the written consent participated in this study between February 16 and 28, 2015. A total of 266 copies were collected and were analyzed using the SPSS 20.0 program. The mean score of patient safety culture was 3.60 on a scale of 0 to 5, and safety nursing activity, 4.28. The subcategory of perception of patient safety culture, which included the accident report frequency and patient safety level positively (+) influenced safety nursing activity. Therefore, effective communications and report systems in hospitals may be necessary to enhance patient safety culture. Education programs of patient safety should be developed and provided to nurses in hospitals to enhance the levels of patient safety management and their services.

Vaccines are products for immunization which can provoke antibodies by eliciting immune reponses without causing disease and have played an important role in preventing fatal and contagious diseases as well as H1N1 influenza. They are classified by two following categories; lived attenuated vaccine and killed vaccine and currently commonly using vaccines are BCG, diphtheria, tetanus, mumps, measles, rubella, polio, Haemophilus influenza type b, hepatitis B, influenza etc. All vaccines must be used correctly to reach optimal therapeutic goals and also informed well to patients to decrease potential problems. In order to do, pharmacists must have good knowledge of vaccines. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the necessity of vaccine education for pharmacists and develop a vaccine leaflet for patient counseling. We have performed a survey with questionnaire for a total of 176 pharmacists and nurses(hospital pharmacists, n=65; community pharmacists, n=50; hospital nurses, n=61) from January 27th to March 12th, 2010. The questionnaire includes items about vaccine education and counseling and 12 quizzes to evaluate responders' knowledge of vaccines. We used the SPSS(Version 12. for windows) program to analyze the data. In results, 94.9% of all responders said they had not been educated on vaccines. And only 1.1% of all responders said they know about vaccines enough to counsel patients. Pharmacists who have an experience recommending vaccines to other people are 21.7%. On the other hand, nurses who have an experience recommending vaccines to other people are 55.7%(p=0.000). The mean number of correct answers at the 12 quizzes are followings; hospital pharmacist, 8.1; community pharmacist, 6.1, hospital nurses, 6.2(p=0.000). A vaccine leaflet for patient counseling is developed with several references. In conclusion, due to no opportunity of vaccine education, pharmacists have no confidence to counsel patients and lack of knowledge of vaccine. But importance of vaccine's role is increasing, pharmacists should counsel patients in vaccination. So they need vaccine education and a vaccine leaflet will be helpful for their counseling.

The role of nurses in Korea is undergoing significant change because of the economic development, medical insurance and the change of family structure. It will be predicted that the nurse's role is extended more and more in the 21C. So the nursing curriculum in nursing education is the most important thing to prepare a good quality of nursing. Furthermore qualified curriculum calls for the development of desirable attitudes in nursing students. The purpose of this descriptive study was to collect data which can be used to facilitate the process of encouraging every college to assume greater responsibility for needed curriculum and educational conditions related to preperation of nursing students for various developed society toward 21C. A total sixty one nursing college were surveyed by mail during August and October 1997. Thirty six college(59%) responded. The data was analyzed by using SAS program. The results are as follows : 1) 32 college(88.9%) answered that they have Nursing educational philosophy and goal. 2) Total credits are 136credits, and the students who don't have teacher's course need 128 credits. 3) Nursing essential subjects comprise 84 credits, and nursing clinical practice subjects are 19 credits. 4) 15 colleges(41.7%) have their own hospital for student's clinical practice, 36 college(100%) take the community nursing practice in public health center, 34college(94.4%) take the school health nursing practice. 5 college(13.9%) have industrial nursing practice. 5) 3-year nursing college have 6.4 professor, 3.5 assistent professor, 1.9 and 3.4 full faculty and 7.4 part time faculty. We sugest that 3-year college have to have nursing educational philosophy and goal in terms of nursing educational standard. To improve the quality of nursing education every college should try to increase the number of professor and to contact qualified hospital for students clinical practice.

The purpose of this study is to design strategic hospital service based on each hospital's features. For this study, an assessment was conducted by 398 in-patents of one university hospital located in Seoul. The self-questionnaires, which were investigated from Oct. 15th to 29th in 2008, compared central reception desk with ward reception desk in satisfaction and re-use rate of patients. The major results of this study are as follow. First, according to each reception desk user, they have different satisfaction of it. As for the staff kindness, admission procedure, discharge procedure and manner of staff, those made patients be gratified as well. Second, when it comes to the intention of re-use, there were no significant features between them. Only convenience in admission and discharge procedure, however, was an attractive factor for the recommendation. Third, this study found out the reasons for higher re-use rate of central reception desk users. Regarding service, they were contented with the time for test and treatment. As for the hospital service, they would like to re-use this hospital because of convenient steps of paying interim fee and getting certificates. Forth, this study found out the reasons for higher re-use rate of ward reception desk users. As a point of hospital service view, they responded that respected privacy, hospital facility and general service were good for staying. As for the manner of staff, they mentioned nurses and staff in charge and whole staff members were kind. When it comes to the procedures of patient management, steps of discharge and paying interim fee were convenience. In conclusion, the results of this study suggest that providing a ward reception desk service can boost the satisfaction and re-use rate of in-patients. Furthermore, this strategic management method would be good for not only cutting the moving line but also efficient in-patient care system. These results can be used for the strategic hospital marketing field, as well. Even though this study has a limitation of the targeted populations which were only in a ward reception desk running hospital, it can say that having competitiveness in satisfaction of hospital service is good for promoting and differencing each hospital. Consequently, whole general management system would be adjusted first for differencing each hospital; however, this sort of additional factor should be concerned as well. I expect that this study would give meaningful data for designing strategic and differencing marketing method to lots of hospitals.
