비트브릭을 활용한 안전 수업 설계 (Safety Class Design with Bitbricks)

  • 본 연구에서는 학교 현장에서 매우 중요하지만 변화가 필요하다고 생각되는 안전 교육과 소프트웨어 교육을 융합한 수업 설계안을 제시하고자 하였다. 간접 체험 중심의 안전 교육 실현을 위해 비트브릭이라는 피지컬 컴퓨팅 도구를 활용하여 '스마트 안전 통학로 제작 프로젝트'로 12차시의 수업안을 구상하였다. 12차시의 수업안을 바탕으로 총 5인의 교사에게 인터뷰로 질적 연구를 한 결과, 수업에 적용했을 때의 효과성과 문제점이 모두 나타났다. 효과성은 기존의 전달식 안전 교육과는 달리 실제 상황을 중심으로 한 간접 체험 중심의 안전 교육이 가능하고 자유도가 높은 수업으로 흥미 유발과 함께 절차적 사고 능력이 발달 될 수 있음을 기대할 수 있다는 점이다. 그러나 직접 상황을 구현하는 과정이 어려울 수 있고 모둠 활동보다는 짝 활동이 효율적일 수 있다는 문제점이 나타났다.

학교와 인접한 회전교차로 보행자 사고심각도 영향요인 분석 (Analysis on the Accident Factors of Pedestrian Accident Severity in Roundabout Near School)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors affecting the roundabout accidents near schools. This study gives particular attentions discussing characteristics by pedestrian accident severity using the ordered logit models. In pursuing the above, 63 roundabouts installed before 2014 are surveyed for modeling. the traffic accident data from 2014 to 2016 are collected from TAAS data set of Road Traffic Authority. Such 35variables explaining the accidents as environment, human, geometries, school and roundabout factor are selected from literature reviews. The main results are as follows. First, the ordered logit models (${\rho}^2$ of 0.272, $x^2$ of 24.723) which is statistically significant have been developed. Second, environment factor variable is analyzed to be day or night ($X_1$ ), human factor variables are evaluated to be driver gender($X_4$), older driver($X_5$), pedestrian gender($X_7$) and children pedestrian($X_8$ ). Third, geometries factor variable are analyzed to be speed limit sign($X_{16}$) and median barrier($X_{21}$), school factor variables are evaluated to be hump-type crosswalk($X_{25}$), CCTV($X_{26}$) and school zone sign($X_{27}$), roundabout factor are analyzed to be roundabout sign($X_{30}$) and number of circulatory roadway lane($X_{32}$). Finally, this study could give some implications to decreasing the accidents severity at roundabout near schools.

Epidemiology and patterns of nasal bone fracture in elderly patients in comparison to other age groups: an 8-year single-center retrospective analysis

  • Background: Nasal bone fractures are the most common type of facial bone fracture, but are under-studied in adults above 65 years of age. Therefore, we investigated the epidemiology and patterns of nasal bone fractures among older adults in comparison to different age groups. Methods: This retrospective study included 2,321 nasal bone fracture patients who underwent surgery at our hospital from January 2010 to December 2017. The patients were classified by age as preschoolers, school-age children, young and middle-aged adults, and the elderly. We performed pairwise comparisons between elderly patients and each other age group in terms of sex, cause of injury, and fracture type. Results: The 2,321 nasal bone fracture patients included 76 elderly patients (50 men [65.8%] and 26 women [34.2%]). In these patients, the two most common injury causes were falling or slipping down (n= 39; 51.3%) and road traffic accidents (n= 19; 25.0%). According to the Stranc and Robertson classification, the most common force vector was lateral, and plane 2 fractures with lateral forces predominated. Conclusion: The elderly showed similar patterns of nasal bone fractures to those observed in young and middle-aged adults, but significant differences from preschoolers (in the injury vector and plane of fracture) and from school-age children (in the sex ratio and plane of fracture). However, elderly patients presented significantly different epidemiological characteristics compared to the other three groups. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality of life of the elderly and prepare for the upcoming super-aged society by taking steps to reduce the incidence and severity of fractures. Possible options for doing so include strengthening individual-level safety factors and expanding the social safety net for the elderly.

도로 위의 군비경쟁: LDA 토픽모델을 활용한 SUV의 인기 요인 탐구 (The Arms Race on the Road: Exploring Factors of SUVs' Popularity by LDA Topic Model)

  • 본 연구자들은 텍스트 마이닝을 활용하여 SUV 선호 증가의 요인을 탐색하고자 한다. 온라인 자동차 커뮤니티인 보배드림에서 2005년부터 2019년까지 작성된 SUV 관련 게시글 32,679개를 수집한 후, LDA 토픽모델링 기법을 적용하였다. 분석 결과, SUV 담화에서 주요한 토픽으로 등장한 '안전'이 범죄로부터 개인의 위험에 주목한 기존 연구와 달리 교통사고 및 고속주행 상황에서의 안전을 의미하는 것으로 드러났다. 한국 사회의 SUV 소비는 개인이 운전하면서 느끼는 불안과 위험에 대한 대비 수단을 의미한다고 볼 수 있다는 것이다. 또한, 이와 같은 위험 인식 저변에는 불평등 증대로 인해 감소하는 타인에 대한 신뢰가 작동한다고 할 수 있다.

국내 연속류 자전거도로의 차두시간 분포 모형 개발 (Development of a Time Headway Distribution Model for Uninterrupted Traffic Flow Bikeway in Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내의 연속류 자전거도로에 대한 차두시간 분포 모형을 개발하고자 하였다. 현장조사를 통해 수집된 데이터를 교통량으로 구분하여 분석하였으며, 교통량의 기준은 전체 교통량을 분포를 고려하여 1분당 8대 미만은 낮은 수준의 교통량으로 하고 8대 이상은 높은 수준의 교통량으로 구분하였다. 차두시간의 집계간격은 기존의 자동차교통류에서 일반적으로 적용해오던 0.5초를 적용하였다. 적용된 분포는 기본적인 정규분포와 함께 음지수분포, 전이된 음지수분포, 피어슨 III분포이며, 카이스퀘어 검정 분석결과 음지수분포와 전이된 음지수분포에서 방향과 교통량 구분 모두에서 이론치와 관측치간에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 제시된 자전거 차두시간 분포모형의 적정성을 판단하기 위한 분석결과, 역시 동일하게 음지수분포와 전이된 음지수분포가 적합한 것으로 나타났다.

ISM에 의한 어린이 보호구역의 잠재위험 요인 구조화 모형 구축 (A Study on Development of Interpretive Structure Modeling(ISM) for Potential Risk Factors in School Zone)

  • PURPOSES : This study is to develop ISM for potential risk factor in School Zone. METHODS : Based on the literature review, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been used most widely. However, it is difficult to apply in practice because the AHP results have the characteristics of the independence between each element and the interlayer can not explain the interrelationship. The Network Analysis Process (ANP) is possible to analyze the relationship between the elements and the network through the feedback. But, the reliability of the analysis fall because of complicated pair of comparison, also it is difficult to solve the super matrix. In this study, the complicated relationship between each element is inquired through the Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM). RESULTS : The methodology of ISM is developed to remove the children's potential risk factors in school zone. CONCLUSIONS : It is possible to remove the children's potential risk factors from low level to high level step by step and improve safety. Through this, risk factors can be removed from the low-level, and upper-level will automatically improve.

Improving Traffic Infrastructure in a Developing Country: An Investigation into the Usage of Public Bus Transport in Malaysia

  • Economic growth with rising household income has put more vehicles on the roads worsening traffic congestion, road accidents, and air and noise pollution. This situation is further aggravated by the potential working population who choose to drive to work instead of taking public transportation. Public bus transport (PBT) plays an important role in alleviating these problems. PBT is underutilized in Malaysia, and there is an opportunity to increase ridership without substantial investment. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the factors that influence the use of PBT in Malaysia. The data were collected using structured questionnaires from 400 respondents. The results of the analysis show that the twin factors consisting of perceived satisfaction of and perceived importance by users towards safety and comfort of facilities and services offered by PBT are significantly related to intention to use those services. The satisfaction of availability of season tickets, the importance of reliability of bus schedule and time table, and the importance of ticket pricing are also significant. By providing insights for both public bus operators and the government, this paper contributes to mitigate the underutilization of PBT in Malaysia and the consequences of putting more vehicles on the roads. From the theory perspective, this paper also contributes by extending the theory of reasoned-action to transportation studies.

G-SAVE 공법 탑재 차량의 예비위험성평가 (Preliminary Hazard Analysis of Vehicle with G-SAVE Technology)

  • The structures for road safety are guard rails that protect the cars and passengers. If an accident occurs on the roads after a long period of installation, it may escalate into a major disaster. In order to repair many guard rails, the existing repair method of replacing them with new ones requires enormous financial resources. To solve this problem, the G-SAVE method was developed to repair the guard rail without replacing them. This method removes the rust on the surface of the guard rail and then performs ambient-dip galvanizing coating on it without replacing the new ones. No studies or reports have yet been made on the risk assessment of harmful substances, vehicles for these entire processes. Therefore, this paper focuses on risk assessment using the PHA (Preliminary Hazard Analysis) technique and conducts risk assessment for concept design stage of the coating vehicles.

퍼지규칙 및 신경망을 이용한 운전 시뮬레이터 개발 (A Development of Driving Simulator using Fuzzy Rules and Neural Network)

  • 국내 교통환경과 증가하는 사고 상황을 감안할 때, 사고의 인적 요인을 정확히 분석하여 이를 토대로 사고 운전자를 교정 교육할 수 있는 시스템이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IPDE 기법을 이용한 안전운전과 교정교육을 위한 운전 시뮬레이터 개발 과정 및 결과를 제시한다. 이 운전 시뮬레이터의 개발로 교정교육 대상자는 실제 운전하는 것과 같은 상황에서 운전 적성과 사고 요인을 검사 받을 수 있고, 검사 결과에 따라 운전자의 운전결함을 교정시킬 수 있는 해설 장면을 선택하여, 재교육을 받을 수 있도록 처리함으로써 운전 교정교육에 있어 실제 상황에 대처하는 능력을 높일 수 있게 하였다. 그러나 이러한 최상의 운전 모의 실험기라도, 날씨조건 및 도로조건에 따라서 제동거리가 달라질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서, 퍼지규칙 및 신경망을 이용하여 이러한 문제점을 해결하였다 시뮬레이션 결과 도로조건 및 날씨 조건을 고려한 시뮬레이터가 브레이크 강도조정이 정확하게 산출 되는 것을 확인하였다.

Seismic responses of transmission tower-line system under coupled horizontal and tilt ground motion

  • Tests and theoretical studies for seismic responses of a transmission tower-line system under coupled horizontal and tilt (CHT) ground motion were conducted. The method of obtaining the tilt component from seismic motion was based on comparisons from the Fourier spectrum of uncorrected seismic waves. The collected data were then applied in testing and theoretical analysis. Taking an actual transmission tower-line system as the prototype, shaking table tests of the scale model of a single transmission tower and towers-line systems under horizontal, tilt, and CHT ground motions were carried out. Dynamic equations under CHT ground motion were also derived. The additional P-∆ effect caused by tilt motion was considered as an equivalent horizontal lateral force, and it was added into the equations as the excitation. Test results were compared with the theoretical analysis and indicated some useful conclusions. First, the shaking table test results are consistent with the theoretical analysis from improved dynamic equations and proved its correctness. Second, the tilt component of ground motion has great influence on the seismic response of the transmission tower-line system, and the additional P-∆effect caused by the foundation tilt, not only increases the seismic response of the transmission tower-line system, but also leads to a remarkable asymmetric displacement effect. Third, for the tower-line system, transmission lines under ground motion weaken the horizontal displacement and acceleration responses of transmission towers. This weakening effect of transmission lines to the main structure, however, will be decreased with consideration of tilt component.
