The purpose of this study is to analyze and compare the literature on the effects of school libraries in US and use it as a base material for the study on effects of local school libraries. For this study, 37 documents were selected and these documents were analyzed based on the research contents and research results. And School library variables were extracted and synthesized. As a result of the study, The documents analyzed the effect of school library on various objects by various variables and analyzed teacher-librarians as the most important school library variable. And the documents indicated the teacher-librarian's role as information literacy education, reading education and collaboration with teachers for teaching. In Korea, it is necessary to study the effect of school library on students with disabilities, multicultural families and economically weak and to link school library standards with school library effect studies.

The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development is propelling the establishment's project of school library digital resource room under recognizing school library is essential facility that it is to educate students to become autonomous and creative person, to embodies a 7th curriculum in the knowledge base society. There is a necessity which it will analyze demonstrative operating school library digital resource room for maximize to educational effect and to establish efficiently. Thus, this study is prepares a foundation of school library informationization as analyzes an operational status and an educational effect with 96 school library digital resource room which are established in tool year.

In order to investigate school libraries' educational impact, two different surveys were conducted. One examined students' school library use in general, including the frequency, purpose, and effect of their library use, and the relative importance of the library in their campus life. The other examined and analyzed their perception of the benefit of the school library to determine if any differences exist among the following three levels: 1) libraries staffed with a dedicated teacher librarian, 2) libraries without a dedicated teacher librarian but active, and 3) libraries without a dedicated teacher librarian and inactive. The questionnaire to survey student's perception had 38 statements, The surveys on student's library use and their perceptions indicated that school libraries benefit the students' reading activities the most. The overall mean of the perception was 3.24(in 5 scales), There were distinct differences among the three levels of school library conditions: the mean for libraries with a teacher librarian scored highest at 3.37, libraries without a teacher librarian but active scored second highest at 3.20, and libraries without a teacher librarian and inactive scored lowest at 3.16. The levels of school library condition suggested direct links to the educational effect on students' achievements.

The aim of this study was to find out how the activity and the effect of the service of school library assistance is done. To this end, a library in S high school was visited, and interviews were conducted with regard to the student assistants to find out how the selection of new members, operating organization and activities are done. Also, a survey was conducted to examine the service activity and satisfaction level with regard to 77 student assistants in libraries of four high schools. In addition, a survey was conducted to find out the satisfaction level of the service provided by the student assistants in the school library with regard to 386 general students. The study results showed that the satisfaction level of the student assistants in the school library was high, and the satisfaction level of the service provided by the student assistants in the school library was positive.

This study aims to examine the effect of students' library after-school activities on the students and the school library from a marketing perspective and to recommend marketing strategies for school libraries. For the purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted at nine middle schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, and a series of statistical analyses with the survey data was performed in order for hypothesis testing. The results suggest that the effects of the school library marketing including customer loyalty were influenced by the student assistants' activities such as internal and experiential marketing factors. Furthermore, the activities of student library assistants can be linked to word-of-mouth marketing. Based on the results, ways to use student assistants in school library marketing are suggested.

This study examines the effect of the absence of a government support policy on the development of school libraries. Specially this article focuses on the rise and fall of school library in 1960's over the making first Library Law. It is meaningful that our school libraries, which have been alienated due to the lack of government polices, are not following in the footsteps of the past, as they are in need of state support.

The purpose of this study is on Effect of Teacher Librarian Information Literacy on Library-Assisted Instruction and on searching the method of increasing the Information Literacy. The result of this study indicates that there is no statistically meaningful between the Library-Assisted Instruction and Teacher Librarian's Information Literacy. However the School Library-Assisted Instruction extremely lacks forming a scheme and Information Literacy extremely lacks Information seeking Therefore subject teachers and the librarian teachers need to reinforce the cooperation to reinvigorate the School Library-Assisted Instruction and systematic training program of Information seeking have to be practiced to increase Librarian Teacher's Information Literacy.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of teacher-librarians' autonomy support on the school library users' satisfaction and continuance intention. Based on SDT(self-determination theory), it focuses on the mediating effect of BPN(basic psychological needs) between the autonomy supports and the satisfaction of the school library users. A survey was administered to 331 middle school students and the research model was examined by using regression analysis and Hayes' parallel multiple mediator model. The findings show that the teacher-librarians' support for autonomy directly and indirectly has a positive effect on the students' satisfaction with the school library, and perceived autonomy and competence among the sub-factors of basic psychological needs are found to have a significant mediating effect between the support of the librarian's autonomy and satisfaction with the school library. In addition, students' satisfaction with the school library shows a significant effect on the continuance intention. This study is meaningful in that it presents the role of teacher-librarians as a factor affecting students' motivation to use school libraries and provides implications for revitalizing school libraries.

This paper investigates the impact of the School Library Revitalization Project of the Daegu Metropolitan City. The Project started in 2003, and by 2009 it revitalized 374 school libraries or 86% of all school libraries in Daegu. Utilizing statistical analysis and questionnaires, this research is divided into two parts. Part 1 analyzes the progress of annual budgets, facilities, collection, personnel, and the circulation data of the libraries. The other part surveys the following: the effects and the satisfaction level of the Project; the teacher's perception of the library's functions; the qualification of the libraries' personnel; the initiatives for developing the library, policy and future plans of the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education for the libraries. Three groups participated in the survey: principals, class teachers, and teacher librarians.

This paper aims to suggest new strategies for operating school library digital resource room by analyzing the current states of 349 school library digital resource room and its educational effects. The project for school library digital resource room provided the foundations for the various informational and educational services : extended information materials, changes in library environment, collecting information through the web sites, providing authentic materials, reading instruction, library assisted instruction (LAI). The suggestions are as follows. 1) The national standards is required for the digital resources room in school libraries. 2) Reading and information literacy instruction should be institutionalized. 3) Library assisted instruction (LAI) should be included in school curriculum. 4) Professionally qualified teacher librarians are required for planning and managing the school library. 5) School library in-service program is needed for all members of the school community.
