  • The purpose of this study is to suggest how to activate the school library by examining how the users' perceive teacher librarians. For this purpose, questionnaires and in-depth interviews were conducted for students in 10 middle and high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi. Analyses lead to these findings: the image types of teacher librarians were classified as professional image, active image, and simple-work image. Multiple regression analysis was used to examine the effect of teacher librarians images on school library user satisfaction. In order to enhance the teacher librarians images and school library user satisfaction, it is necessary to strive to cultivate the active attitude and professionalism of teacher librarians. Also, as the frequency of use is lower, the teacher librarians' images are viewed as simple work. Therefore, it is required to consider various reading events and reading education to raise the frequency of use. This study shows that the teacher librarians' images have a positive effect on school library users' satisfaction and suggests improvement plan for school library activation.

  • Faculty advisors play a vital role in a learning and adjustment process of doctoral students at their work, department, university and discipline by sharing and exchanging relevant information and knowledge in the profession. Despite the important role of information practice in doctoral advising, few studies have investigated the informational aspects of faculty advisors and their students. Thus, this study aims to consider the distribution of information exchanged between faculty advisors and their doctoral students and relate them to doctoral students' demographic characteristics (gender, age, race and/or ethnicity, degree, and stage of doctoral work). The findings of this study show that overall information exchange is most frequent at the work level followed by the discipline, school/department, and university levels. In particular, information exchange at the work and discipline levels explains the characteristics of doctoral education, socializing students into both student and professional roles. In addition, there are statistically significant differences in information exchange along certain dimensions according to the advisee's gender, age, race and/or ethnicity, degree, and stage of doctoral study, suggesting that information needs and seeking behavior may vary according to the demographic characteristics of advisees.

  • I studied in this paper on the comparative study between the constructivism and the structuralism as the educational methods. On the constructivism in educational methods they say that knowledge is constructed subjectively by person individually(cognitive constructivism) or by persons reciprocally in the society(social constructivism). On the structuralism in educational methods they say that knowledge(structure) is in the closed-end text objectively and person pursue and identify this objective knowledge in the closed-end text. But on the post-structuralism(neostructuralism) they say that the text is not closed-ended but open-ended. So constructivism is consistent with post-structuralism. Education include application of knowledge and awareness of knowledge on my opinion. Education on application of knowledge is more important in this knowledge based society. Constructivism connote the application of knowledge in the education. School library media center and media specialist(teather-librarian) are essential elements of this application of knowledge in the education.

  • The new service of Korean public library, ASK_a service model suggests a new management practice in collaborative digital reference services. The model has three functions: input transaction, process transaction, and output transaction. The best form for input is the web form. The best form for process is a model with a hybrid type of public libraries(hierarchical and lateral type). The output suggests the archiving policy for gathering the query-answer data. The core of this model is providing an advanced information service to its users through cooperation with public libraries and external manpower.

  • The evaluation of the law schools, which had been launched for the purpose of training the lawyers to settle the legal disputes professionally and effectively, had been done on paper and on site from September through October 2012. Based on not only the basic materials for the evaluation such as evaluation standard, manual, and questionnaire but also the problems revealed during the evaluation, this study intended to show the problems of the evaluation clauses of the law school library which is the basis for the professionalism and diversity of law education and suggest the remedies for them. This study shows that the evaluation clauses need to be made considering the scale of each law school rather than suggesting the same quantitative standard in every law school and to be more specific rather than abstract. Especially, to manage the law school library efficiently from now on, it is necessary to plan and practice the idea of developing such as the specialization and to prepare the idea of operating the law school library through the law school members. Additionally, it is desirable that the chapter of the library exists separately and the library facilities are evaluated together with the other school facilities. Lastly, it is necessary to suggest the appropriate model as the norm to each school according to the school scale.
