Changes in the energy spectrum were analyzed using 99mTc as a point source and a scattering phantom, and the shielding effect of the lead apron according to the changed gamma ray energy was evaluated. In the gamma ray energy spectrum of the scattering phantom, the photo peak area decreased and the compton scattering area increased compared to the point source. The coefficients for each energy range according to the change in the shape of the gamma ray source showed a reduction rate of up to 66.1 % at a distance of 20 cm compared to the coefficient of the point source, and in the compton scattering area, the coefficient of the scattering phantom was 122.2 % at a distance of up to 40 cm compared to the coefficient of the point source. In the difference in shielding rate according to the distance between the source and the scattering phantom using a gamma camera, the photo peak area showed similar results, but in the Compton scattering area, the shielding rate of the scattering phantom at a distance of 20 cm increased by 29.2 % compared to the shielding rate of the point source. As the distance increased, the difference in shielding rate decreased. In measuring the shielding rate of the lead apron using a radiation dosimeter, the difference in the shielding rate of the scattering phantom was up to 15.3 %, and as the distance increased, the difference in the shielding rate between the two sources decreased. The shielding rate of the lead apron of the scattering phantom is higher than that of the point source, and the effectiveness of the lead apron increases as the distance to the source increases. As a result, wearing a lead apron when directly confronting a patient who has injected radioactive pharmaceuticals is expected to be helpful in reducing radiation exposure.
Point-based rendering has gained much attention as an alternative to polygon-based rendering because of its simplicity and flexibility. However, current point-based rendering techniques do not provide a sufficient rendering quality for translucent materials such as human skin. In this paper, we propose a point-based rendering framework with subsurface scattering of light, which is important to create the soft and semi-translucent appearance of human skin. To accurately simulate subsurface scattering in multi-layer materials, we present splat-based diffusion to apply a linear combination of several Gaussian basis functions to each splat in object space. Compared to existing point-based approaches, our method offers a significantly improved visual quality in rendering human faces.
In this study, simulations were done of a 661.6 keV line from a point source of $^{137}Cs$ housed in a lead shield. When increasing the scattering angle from 60 to 120 degrees with a 6061 aluminum alloy target placed at angles of 30 and 45 degrees to the incident beam, the spectra showed that the single scattering component increases and that the multiple scattering component decreases. The investigation of the single and multiple scattering components was carried out using a MCNP5 simulation code. The component of the single Compton scattering photons is proportional to the target electron density at the point where the scattering occurs. The single scattering peak increases according to the thickness of the target and saturates at a certain thickness. The signal-to-noise ratio was found to decrease according to the target thickness. The simulation was experimentally validated by measurements. These results will be used to determine the best conditions under which this method can be applied to testing electron densities or to assess the thickness of samples to locate defects in them.

To maximize performance in a high-performance multicore processor system. it is essential to enable effective data communication between processing cores. Data communication between processor nodes can be broadly classified into collective and point-to-point communications. Collective communication comprises scattering and gathering. This paper presents a efficient message scattering and gathering based on processing node status. In the proposed algorithms, the transmission order is changed according to the data size of the pre-existing communication, to reduce the waiting time required until the collective communications begin. From the simulation, the performances of the proposed message scattering and gathering algorithms were improved by approximately 71.41% and 69.84%.
A two-dimensional (2D) / three-dimensional (3D) convertible display system based on integral imaging is proposed to adopt a novel switchable point light source array, which is implemented using the polarization modulator and the polarization selective scattering film that transmits or scatters the incident light due to its polarization direction. The 2D and the 3D display modes of the proposed system can be modulated by controlling the polarization direction of back light using the polarization modulator. We explain the basic principles of the proposed system and verify the feasibility of the system through preliminary experiments.

Single crystals of{{{{ { Zn}_{ 1-x} {Mn }_{x }{Te} }}}} with x=0.3-0.6 were prepared by the standard Bridgeman method. Diffuse neutron diffraction intensities due to the short range magnetic ordering is found in the vicinities of 1 1/2 0 reciprocal point and its equivalent point, indicating that the magnetic correlation of the clusters is the type III antiferromangetic one do the F-type Bravais class crystals, being identical with that of {{{{{ Cd}_{ 1-x} {Mn }_{x }Te }}}}. Neutron inelastic scattering measure-ment has been performed for {{{{{ Zn}_{ 0.6} { Mn}_{ 0.4}Te }}}} sample using the cold neutron spectrometer. AGNES. High resolution measurement with the energy resolution of {{{{ TRIANGLE E= +- .01meV}}}} was carried out in the temperature range from 10K to the ambient. Critical scattering, closely related with the spin glass transition, has been observed for the first time in this semimagnetic semi-conductor. The critical scattering is observed at temperatures in the vicinity of the spin glass transition temperature, 17K. The scattering is observed as a kind of quasielastic scattering in the reciprocal range where the elastic magnetic diffuse scattering has been observed, e.g., 11/20 reciprocal point, indicating the spin fluctuation has dynamic components in this material. Photoconductivity has been discovered below 150K in {{{{{ Zn}_{ 0.4} {Mn }_{0.6 } Te}}}}. The electric AC conductivity has been increased dramatically under the laser light with the wave lengths of {{{{ lambda =6328,5145 and4880 }}}}$\AA$ ,respectively. After the light was darkened, the conductivity was reduced to the original level after about 2000 seconds at 50K, being above the spin glass transition temperature. This phenomenon is the typical persistent photoconductivity; PPC which was similarly found in {{{{ { Zn}_{ 1-x} { Mn}_{x} Te}}}}.

In this paper, design and fabrication of a MSP(Multiple Scattering Points) discriminator for a simulated target measurement using a HRR(High Range Resolution) RADAR are described. The MSP discriminator is designed to provide a reference signal at the installed point on the simulated target in an outdoor test. The MSP discriminator is designed to have a remote control function that can turn the MSP discriminator on and off when the target moves to a remote location. While the MSP discriminator is off, the MSP discriminator is designed to be small enough not to spoil the target's unique RCS. The MSP discriminator consists of RF components in the Ku-band. In order to prevent spreading of the signal, a cable were added to the MSP discriminator to have an appropriate feedback loop delay considering the resolution of the RADAR. The fabricated MSP discriminator provided a reference scattering point as an RCS of approximately 1 dBsm. As a result, by using the MSP discriminator, the physical scattering points of the target were clearly identified in the measured signals with the RADAR.
The tribrachial flame in laminar coflow jet has been investigated experimentally with unsteady propagating condition. With adopting various visualization techniques, including OH-PLIF, Rayleigh Scattering technique, it was confirmed that the location of tribrachial point is on the inclined surface of flame and the propagation speed of tribrachial flame was significantly affected by the velocity gradient.
The module LEAPR of NJOY data processing system has been improved to have the capability of computing the thermal elastic scattering cross sections for silicon, which has a diamond-like structure. Silicon lattice was assumed as an fcc lattice with two atoms at each lattice point. The calculation formulas for thermal neutron elastic scattering by silicon were introduced and incorporated into LEAPR, and then the scattering cross sections for silicon were computed. The results were compared with experimental data, and they were found to give a good agreement with experimental data.
