This study was conducted in order to spread out lower body 3D scan data of men in their twenties. The aim was to achieve slacks pattern with ease allowance through comparison with existing flat patterns. For conversion of 3D scan data into 20 pattern, reference lines were established by using Rapid Foam in 3D shape analysis software. 2C-AN program and Yuka CAD were used to convert 20 pattern earned with straight posture of 3D scan data into slacks pattern by using Triangle Simplification & Runge-Kutta Method. In order to achieve this we needed to set a line 9cm below the hip line, to array vertex of each block to crease line while maintaining the horizontal line. And then we needed to set ease allowance in back crotch and to set waist circumference or hip circumference ease allowance in side seam of slacks. Results showed that long front crotch length can be achieved if 3D scan data is compared with 20 existing flat pattern. Slacks pattern that raise front crotch by about 1.5cm compared to back crotch and also possess ease allowance in back crotch area are great in appearance evaluation.

In the stereolithography process, the accuracy of product depends on laser power, scan speed, scan width, scan pattern, layer thickness, resin characteristics and so on. Therefore, appropriate process parameters are required for an accurate prototype. This paper presents a method to determine the key process parameters, i.e., laser scan speed, hatching space, and layer thickness based on scan length, scan area, and layer slope. In order to determine these parameters, three neural networks are employed to represent operator’s experience and knowledge. Optimum values on scan speed, hatching space and layer thickness are recommended to improve the surface roughness and build time on the developed SLA machine.
Purpose : High-resolution spiral-scan imaging is performed at 3 Tesla MRI system. Since the gradient waveforms for the spiral-scan imaging have lower slopes than those for the Echo Planar Imaging (EPI), they can be implemented with the gradient systems having lower slew rates. The spiral-scan imaging also involves less eddy currents due to the smooth gradient waveforms. The spiral-scan imaging method does not suffer from high specific absorption rate (SAR), which is one of the main obstacles in high field imaging for rf echo-based fast imaging methods such as fast spin echo techniques. Thus, the spiral-scan imaging has a great potential for the high-speed imaging in high magnetic fields. In this paper, we presented various high-resolution images obtained by the spiral-scan methods at 3T MRI system for various applications. Materials and Methods : High-resolution spiral-scan imaging technique is implemented at 3T whole body MRI system. An efficient and fast higher-order shimming technique is developed to reduce the inhomogeneity, and the single-shot and interleaved spiral-scan imaging methods are developed. Spin-echo and gradient-echo based spiral-scan imaging methods are implemented, and image contrast and signal-tonoise ratio are controlled by the echo time, repetition time, and the rf flip angles. Results : Spiral-scan images having various resolutions are obtained at 3T MRI system. Since the absolute magnitude of the inhomogeneity is increasing in higher magnetic fields, higher order shimming to reduce the inhomogeneity becomes more important. A fast shimming technique in which axial, sagittal, and coronal sectional inhomogeneity maps are obtained in one scan is developed, and the shimming method based on the analysis of spherical harmonics of the inhomogeneity map is applied. For phantom and invivo head imaging, image matrix size of about $100{\times}100$ is obtained by a single-shot spiral-scan imaging, and a matrix size of $256{\times}256$ is obtained by the interleaved spiral-scan imaging with the number of interleaves of from 6 to 12. Conclusion : High field imaging becomes increasingly important due to the improved signal-to-noise ratio, larger spectral separation, and the higher BOLD-based contrast. The increasing SAR is, however, a limiting factor in high field imaging. Since the spiral-scan imaging has a very low SAR, and lower hardware requirements for the implementation of the technique compared to EPI, it is suitable for a rapid imaging in high fields. In this paper, the spiral-scan imaging with various resolutions from $100{\times}100$ to $256{\times}256$ by controlling the number of interleaves are developed for the high-speed imaging in high magnetic fields.
Bovine adenosine deaminase undergoes a nondenaturational conformational change at $29^{\circ}C$ upon heating which is characterized by a large increase in heat capacity. We have determined the transition state thermodynamics of the conformational change using a novel application of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) which employs very slow scan rates. DSC scans at the conventional, and arbitrary, scan rate of $1^{\circ}C/min$ show no evidence of the transition. Scan rates from 0.030 to $0.20^{\circ}C/min$ reveal the transition indicating it is under kinetic control. The transition temperature $T_t$ and the transition temperature interval ${\Delta}T$ increase with scan rate. A first order rate constant $k_1$ is calculated at each $T_t$ from $k_1\;=\;r_{scan}/{\Delta}T$, where $r_{scan}$ is the scan rate, and an Arrhenius plot is constructed. Standard transition state analysis reveals an activation free energy ${\Delta}G^{\neq}$ of 88.1 kJ/mole and suggests that the conformational change has an unfolding quality that appears to be on the direct path to the physiological-temperature conformer.

Side scan sonar using acoustic wave plays a very important role in the underwater, sea floor, and shallow marine geologic survey. In this study, we have acquired side scan sonar data for the underwater man-made structures, artificial reefs and fishing grounds, installed and distributed in the survey area. We applied digital image processing techniques to side scan sonar data in order to improve and enhance an image quality. We carried out digital image processing with various kinds of filtering in spatial domain and frequency domain. We tested filtering parameters such as kernel size, differential operator, and statistical value. We could easily estimate the conditions, distribution and environment of artificial structures through the interpretation of side scan sonar.

This paper presents a decoupling controller of the missile seeker scan loop with a spin-stabilized platform. A precise seeker motion with respect to the scan command is essential for the higher acquisition probability of the target. As the seeker scan loop is a deeply cross-coupled two input two output system, an accurate pointing or scanning for each axis to the target is very difficult, even though provided with the help of a high performance controller. When a decoupling control is applied to the seeker scan loop, the cross-coupling between two axes can be reduced to a remarkable amount. As a low order of controller is required for the real time operation, a PI controller with decoupling filter is suggested and compared with other controllers. A linearized dynamic model of seeker scan loop is used and validated through the comparison of experimental results of step responses.

A solid freeform fabrication (SFF) system using selective laser sintering (SLS) is currently recognized as a leading process and the SLS extends the applications to machinery and automobiles due to various employing materials. In order to fabricate a large part with SFF system, dual laser approach has been introduced. Since the building room is divided into two regions, each scan path for dual laser system is generated based on the single laser scan path. Scan paths for each laser have to be synchronized and consider mechanical strength against fracture at the interfaced region. This paper will address generation of single laser scan path which deals with special cases for unnecessary scan points and generation of dual laser scan path according to various divided regions to enhance mechanical strength. To evaluate the developed scan path method, the specimen will be fabricated and evaluated.
An image is partitioned into non-overlapping $8{\times}8$ blocks fer JPEG compression. A scan order converter is placed before the JPEG encoder to provide $8{\times}8$ blocks from the pixels in raster scan order. In general, its architecture requires two line memories for storing eight lines separately to allow the concurrent memory access by both the camera and JPEG processors. Although such architecture is simple to be implemented, it can be inefficient due to too excessive memory requirement as the image resolution increases. However, no deterministic addressing equation has been developed for scan conversion. In this paper, an effective memory addressing algorithm is proposed that can be devised only by adders and subtracters to implement a scan converter based on the single line memory.

In a VOD(Video-On-Demand) system, I/O performance and storage requirements are generally more important than computing capability, Due to the development of CPU tecnology, the gap between the performance of processors and desk speed are widening. Therefore, the disk system typically becomes the bohleneck ina VOD system. In order to allevte those effects from physical constramts, disk array system is used. The I/O performance of disk arrays can be improved by the capability of processors, I/O schefuling polcy, the number of member disks in the array, disk block size, block placemet method etc. In this paper, we considered the disk scheduling schemes including EDF( Earliest Deadine First), SCAN, SGAN-EDF, Round-robm. GSS(Grouped Sweeping scheme), and C-SCAN, LOOK, C-LOOK which are variations of SCAN Mamly focusing on those disk scheduling schemes, we performed the simulation in order to compare and eview the perionmance of disk arrays considening seveial related parameters under diverse environments and analyzed the effects of those parameters to the performance.
