T800/924C 탄소-에폭시 복합재판의 압축강도에 대한 두께 효과 (Thickness Effect on the Compressive Strength of T800/924C Carbon Fibre-Epoxy Laminates)

  • 본 연구에서 복합재의 압축 강도에 대한 두께 효과가 $[0_4]_{ns},{\;}[45/0/-45/90]_{ns},{\;}[45_n/0_n/-45_n/90_n]_s$ (n=2 to 8) 등의 적층 방법을 이용하여 체계적인 실험을 통해 조사되었다. 여기서 섬유 체적비, 기공률, 섬유 굴곡도, 층간 응력 등, 적층 두께 증가에 따른 압축 강도에 영향을 주는 파라미터들이 실험과 이론적으로 연구되었다. 또한 엇교차 대칭 복합재판의 파괴강도에 대한 적층 순서 효과도 조사되었다. 이를 위해 2종류의 다른 스케일링 효과를 갖는 (1) 폰라이-레벨 기법인 $[45_n/0_n/-45_n/90_n]_s$과 (2) 서브라미네이트-레벨 기법인 $[45_n/0_n/-45_n/90_n]_s$가 적용되었다. 일 방향 적층 시편 $[0_4]_{ns}$과 플라이-레벨인 $[45_n/0_n/-45_n/90_n]_s$에는 분명한 두께효과를 나타내었다. 그리고 섬유 굴곡도와 기공률의 두께효과에 기여하는 주요 파라미터 들임이 확인되었다. 그러나 서브라미네이트-레벨인 $[45/0/-45/90]_{ns}$의 압축강도는 시편 두께의 변화에도 불구하고 별 영향을 나타내지 않았으면, 서브라미네이트- 레벨 시편에서 구한 강토가 플라이-레벨 시편에서 구한 강도보다 약간 높았다. 이 같은 효과에 대한 이유는 섬유 굴곡도, 기공률, 자유단 효과 및 $0^{\circ}$층과 비 $0^{\circ}$층 사이의 응력 재 분포에 의한 영향인 것으로 보인다. 측정된 파괴강도는 예측 값과 비교되었다.

편마암지역에서 선대구경 수평보링 공수적용에 따른 지반진동 감쇠효과 연구 (A Study on the Decay Effect of Ground Vibration based on the Number of PLHBM Holes in Gneiss Area)

  • 본 논문에서는 PLHBM의 환산 거리별 공수에 따른 터널 심발공의 진동감쇠효과를 비교하기 위해 편마암지역에서 V-cut, PLHBM 1공, PLHBM 2공에 대한 현장실험을 수행하였다. 시험결과 얻어진 발파진동추정식을 근거로 하였을 때 진동 감쇠율은 V-cut의 PPV를 기준으로 환산거리 $10{\sim}100m/kg^{1/2}$의 범위에서 PLHBM 1공 적용 시 21.8~61.1%, 2공 적용시 35.7~79.3%로 나타났다. 진동감쇠효과는 환산거리가 증가할수록 작아지는 경향을 보였으며, PLHBM 1~2공은 심발공의 진동감쇠효과가 높은 것으로 나타났다.

벌크 FinFET의 기술 동향 및 이슈 (Trend and issues of the bulk FinFET)

  • FinFETs are able to be scaled down to 22 nm and beyond while suppressing effectively short channel effect, and have superior performance compared to 2-dimensional (2-D) MOSFETs. Bulk FinFETs are built on bulk Si wafers which have less defect density and lower cost than SOI(Silicon-On-Insulator) wafers. In contrast to SOI FinFETs, bulk FinFETs have no floating body effect and better heat transfer rate to the substrate while keeping nearly the same scalability. The bulk FinFET has been developed at 14 nm technology node, and applied in mass production of AP and CPU since 2015. In the development of the bulk FinFETs at 10 nm and beyond, self-heating effects (SHE) is becoming important. Accurate control of device geometry and threshold voltage between devices is also important. The random telegraph noise (RTN) would be problematic in scaled FinFET which has narrow fin width and small fin height.

  • In the present paper, the scale effects of two-dimensional airfoil and three-dimensional wind turbine were investigated by using FLUENT software. For two dimensional analysis, flow around S809 airfoil with various Reynolds No. and Mach No. conditions were simulated. For three dimensional analysis, scaled NREL Phase VI wind turbine models from 6% to 1,600% were simulated under the same tip speed ratio condition. Finally, aerodynamic comparisons between two-dimensional flow and three dimensional wind turbine flow are made for the feasibility study of scale effect corrections. Currently, KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute) is preparing for the wind tunnel test of 12% NREL Phase VI wind turbine and the performance analysis of the scaled NREL wind turbine model will be validated by the wind tunnel test.

다수의 익형이 적용된 풍력터빈 블레이드에 대한 축소효과 보상기법 (Scaled effect correction method for the wind turbine blade with multi airfoils)

  • 풍력터빈 블레이드 풍동시험의 경우 사용가능한 시험설비의 크기제한으로 인해 축소모델 사용이 불가피하며, 이로 인해 풍동시험에서는 실물 블레이드에 비해 10% 미만의 낮은 Re수에서 시험이 수행된다. 축소모델 블레이드 풍동시험 결과를 활용하여 실물 블레이드의 성능(토크)를 추정하기 위한 축소효과 보정기법을 2008년 제시하였으며, NREL Phase VI 모델 시험결과에 적용하였다. 당시 제시된 보정기법은 단일익형을 전체 블레이드에 사용한 사례이며 축소효과 보정을 위해 Re수에 따른 익형의 양력계수 변화만을 적용하였다. 본 논문에서는 당시 제안된 축소효과 보정기법을 익형의 양력계수 및 항력계수를 포함한 형태로 수정하였으며, 블레이드에 다수의 익형이 사용되었을 경우에 대해 확장하였다. NREL Phase VI 12% 시험모델의 경우 익형의 양력계수 기울기에 의한 보정량은 약 15% 정도이며, 항력계수 변화에 의한 보정량은 약 5% 정도로 나타났다. 블레이드에 다수의 익형이 사용되었을 경우 설계 또는 전산해석을 통해 구한 반경별 토크 함수를 적용하여 블레이드 축소효과를 보정할 수 있다.

  • Nowadays rolling stock has become a fast and convenient transportation and increased in its demands. But the improvement of speed has result in increase of aerodynamic noise and therefore residential districts near by the railroad are now constantly suffering from the racket. Thus the study regarding rolling stock's environmental noise measurement and appraisal has become important. The case of environmental noise, there are no changes of tone so prediction can be made by reducing areas around the railway. This is part of the study which estimates the noise around the railway using scaled model, and the source of the noise has been researched on. The scaled model of rolling stock will have to be able to make high frequency and it needs to be spread out in a short amount of time. When popping a balloon or firing a gun fits its condition and this study analyzed the characteristics of these two different noises. Measurement was held on a wide vacant lot and the reflection effect of the ground is additionally examined. It is judged to be used in the future when predicting the environmental noise of railway vehicles.

연료노즐의 내부유동 및 외부분무 특성 (Characteristics of Internal Flow and Fuel Spray in a Fuel Nozzle Orifice)

  • The nozzle geometry and up-stream inject ion condition affect the characteristics of flow inside the nozzle. such as turbulence and cavitation bubbles. Flow details in fuel nozzle orifice with sudden contraction of cross sectional area have been investigated both experimentally and numerically. The measurements of velocities of internal flow in a scaled-up nozzle with different length to diameter rat io(L/d) were made by laser Doppler velocimetry in order to clarify the effect of internal flow on the characteristics of fuel spray. Mean and fluctuating velocities and discharge coefficients were obtained at various Reynolds numbers. The turbulent intensity and turbulence kinetic energy in a sharp inlet nozzle were higher than that in a round inlet nozzle. Calculations were also performed for the same nozzles as scaled-up experimental nozzles using the SIMPLE algorithm. External spray behavior under different nozzle geometry and up-stream flow conditions using Doppler technique and visualization technique were also observed.

Evaluation on bridge dynamic properties and VIV performance based on wind tunnel test and field measurement

  • Full scale measurement on the structural dynamic characteristics and Vortex-induced Vibrations (VIV) of a long-span suspension bridge with a central span of 1650 m were conducted. Different Finite Element (FE) modeling principles for the separated twin-box girder were compared and evaluated with the field vibration test results, and the double-spine model was determined to be the best simulation model, but certain modification still needs to be made which will affect the basic modeling parameters and the dynamic response prediction values of corresponding wind tunnel tests. Based on the FE modal analysis results, small-scaled and large-scaled sectional model tests were both carried out to investigate the VIV responses, and probable Reynolds Number effects or scale effect on VIV responses were presented. Based on the observed VIV modes in the field measurement, the VIV results obtained from sectional model tests were converted into those of the three-dimensional (3D) full-scale bridge and subsequently compared with field measurement results. It is indicated that the large-scaled sectional model test can probably provide a reasonable and effective prediction on VIV response.

형상 축소된 연소기의 열손실 및 소염해석 모델 (Thermodynamic Modeling of Heat Loss and Quenching in a Down Scaled Combustor)

  • Down scaled combustor undergoes increased heat loss that results in incomplete combustion or quenching of the flame as a consequence. Therefore, effect of enhanced heat loss should be understood to design a MEMS scale combustion devices. Existing combustion models are inadequate for micro combustors because they were developed for analysis of regular scale combustor where heat loss can be ignored during the flame propagation. In this research a combustion model is proposed in order to estimate the heat loss and predict quenching limit of flame in a down scaled combustor. Heat loss in the burned region is expressed in a convective form as a product of wall surface area, heat transfer coefficient and temperature difference. Comparison to the measurements showed satisfactory agreement of the pressure and temperature drop. Quenching is accounted for by introducing a correlation of quenching parameter and heat loss. The present model predicted burnt fraction of gases with reasonable accuracy and proved to be applicable in thermal design of a micro combustor.
