  • Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) signal planned for future Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) provided better positioning accuracy and smaller multipath error than GPS C/A signal. However, due to the multiple side peaks in the auto-correlation function (ACF) of the BOC modulated signals, a receiver may false lock onto one of the side peaks in the tracking mode. This false lock would then result in a fatal tracking error. In this paper, we propose an unambiguous tracking method for composite BOC (CBOC) signals to mitigate this problem. It aims to reduce the side peaks of the ACF of CBOC modulated signals. It is based on the combination of traditional CBOC correlation function (CF) and reference CF of unmodulated pseudo- random noise code (PRN code). First, we present that cross-correlation function (CCF) with unmodulated PRN code is close to the secondary peaks of the traditional CBOC. Then, we obtain an unambiguous correlation function by subtracting traditional CBOC ACF from these CFs. Finally, the tracking performance for the CBOC signals is examined, and it is shown that the proposed method has better performance than the traditional unambiguous tracking method in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel.

  • IPS is an indoor positioning system that replaces GPS, which is less accurate due to walls and roofs inside buildings. Radio signals such as Wi-Fi are used instead of satellite signals, and complex methods are being used to increase accuracy. In this paper, we present a more efficient positioning method than before by applying high-level signals to high-accuracy fingerprint techniques. A radio map is configured with high-level signals collected by utilizing Wi-Fi APs, which are more than in the past. The suitability of use was confirmed by analyzing the pattern represented by the configured radio map for each location.

  • For the purpose of development of anti-jamming GPS receiver we have developed an anti-jamming algorithm and its Simulink implementation model. The algorithm used here is a form of Space-Time Adaptive Processing (STAP) filter which is well known as an effective way to remove wideband jamming signals. We have chosen Minimum Variance Distortionless Response (MVDR) block-adaptive beamforming algorithm for our development since it can provide relatively fast convergence speed to reach optimal weights, stable and high suppression capability on various types of jamming signals. We will show modeling results for this MVDR type adaptive beamformer and some simulation results. We also show the integrity of the demodulated satellite signals and the accuracy of resulting navigation solutions after anti-jamming operation.

  • The recent transition to Performance Based Navigation in aviation enhances the accuracy of aircraft position, safety and efficiency in air traffic operations by using satellite-based navigation system such as GNSS. However, intentional interferences with GNSS signal as well as ones coming from natural phenomena such as solar storm increase. GNSS have very low power and therefore their signals are more susceptible to interferences than ground-based navigation signals. This paper introduces requirements of alternative positioning, navigation and timing(APNT) system and relevant technologies when the GNSS signals are not valid.

  • In MSC(Multi-spectral camera ), the incoming light is converted to electronic analog signals by the CCD(charge coupled device) detectors. The analog signals are amplified, biased and converted into digital signals (pixel data stream) in the FPE(Focal plane electronics ). The digital data is transmitted to the PMU for pre-processing to correct for nonuniformity, to partially reorder the pixel stream and to add header data for identification and synchronization In this paper, the video data streams is described in terms of hardware.

  • In this paper, we evaluate the performance of various diversity techniques which can contribute to provide efficient multimedia broadcasting services via hybrid/integrated satellite and terrestrial network. Space-time coding can achieve the diversity gain in a multi-path environment without additional bandwidth requirement. Recent study results reported that satellite systems can achieve high diversity gains by appropriate utilization of STC and/or forward error correction. Based on these previous study results, we present various cooperative diversity techniques by combing STC and rate compatible turbo codes in order to realize the transmit diversity for the mobile satellite system. The satellite and several terrestrial repeaters operate in unison to send the encoded signals, so that receiver may realize diversity gain. The results demonstrated in this paper can be utilized in future system implementation.

  • Since the operation of the first satellite-based navigation services, satellite positioning has played an increasing role in both surveying and navigation, and has become an indispensable tool for precise relative positioning. However, in some situations, e.g. at a low angle of elevation, the use of satellites for navigation is seriously restricted because obstacles like buildings and mountains can block signals. As a mean to resolve this problem, the quasi-zenith satellite system has been proposed as a next-generation satellite navigation system. Quasi-zenith satellite is a system which simultaneously deploys several satellites in a quasi-zenith geostationary orbit so that one of the satellites always stay close to the zenith if viewed from a specific point on the ground of East Asia. Thus, if a position measurement function compatible with GPS is installed in the quasi-zenith and stationary satellites, and these satellites are utilized together with the GPS, four satellites can be accessed simultaneously nearly all day long and a substantial improvement in position measurement, especially in metropolitan areas, can be achieved. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of quasi-zenith satellite system on positioning accuracy improvement through simulation by using precise orbital information of the satellites and a three-Dimensional digital map. Through this simulation system, it is possible to calculate the number of simultaneously visible satellites and available area of the positioning without the need of actual observation.

  • In this paper, we investigate a multi-beam satellite communication system where multiple terminals transmit information signals to the gateway via a satellite. The satellite is equipped with phased array antennas to form multiple spot beams of which bandwidths are not identically allocated. We formulate an optimization problem to maximize fairness of beam bandwidth allocation. In order to solve the problem, we propose two heuristic algorithms; iterative beam bandwidth allocation (IBBA) and request ratio-based beam bandwidth allocation (RRBBA) algorithms. The IBBA algorithm iteratively equalizes the ratio of allocated bandwidth of each beam to their resource request while the RRBBA algorithm allocates beam bandwidth calculated from the ratio. Simulation results show that the IBBA algorithm has close fairness performance to the optimum while the RRBBA algorithm has less performance than the IBBA algorithm at the price of reduced computational complexity.

  • A drone performs a mission through remote control or automatic control, which uses wireless communications technology. Recently the increasing use of drones, the drone signal RF detection is necessary. In this paper, we propose an efficient dron RF detection method through simulations considering Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and dedicated protocol dron communication method in ISM(Industry Science Medical) band.. After configuring an environment where a common terminal and a drone signal are mixed, a general terminal and a drone signal are distinguished from each other by using a RF characteristic according to a dron movement. The proposed drone RF detection method is the WRMD(Windowed RSSI Moving Detection) operation and the Doppler frequency identification method. The simulation environments consist to mixed for two signals and four signals. We analysis the performance to proposed drone RF detection technique thorough detection rate.
