  • The performance sensitivity analysis due to manufacturing/alignment errors is performed for the Ku-band offset parabola antenna of the domestic Communications and Broadcasting Satellite. The performance variations due to reflector random surface error, which inevitably happens during reflector manufacturing, are statistically analyzed using RMS error and correlation interval. The impact on the antenna performance of the fred hem's position and angular errors is investigated, and the sensitive directions are identified. When the target tolerances are applied, the performance degradations are found to be within the loss budget or corresponding performance margins.

  • Nematic liquid crystal (NLC) alignment effects on SiOF layers via ion-beam (IB) irradiation for four types of incident energy were successfully studied. The effect of fluorine addition on silicon oxide film properties as a function of $SiOF_4/O_2$ gas flow ration was investigated. The SiOF thin film exhibits good chemical and the thermal stability of the SiOF thin film were sustained as function of the NLC alignment until $200^{\circ}C$ Also, the response-time characteristics of aligned LCD based on SiOF film were studied.

  • The Milky Way (MW) and other systems including M31 and Cen A have flattened structures of their satellites (Disk of Satellites, DoS). Such structures are rare in simulations under the ΛCDM paradigm. DoS is known to depend mainly on 1) the alignment of satellite orbits and 2) the degree of central concentration of satellites. In this work, we examine quantitatively how these two parameters affect the flatness of a system. We find that the MW-like DoS is rare in IllustrisTNG100 simulation because its two parameters are out of the 1-s range and furthermore the MW has a structure more flattened than the other systems having similar parameters. Besides, we propose a new criterion for the MW-like systems superseding the conventional ones such as major-minor axis ratio of the MW's DoS with a value of 0.183. Each satellite system has a specific orbital combination and thus has a particular distribution of its parameters (and thus flatness). The median of the distribution is set as the representative value of each system. And the representative value of the MW can be used as a new criterion for classifying the MW-like DoS. We reconstruct the orbital combination of the observed MW satellites using GAIA DR2 data and find the systems in the simulation that have representative values similar to the new criterion from the reconstructed MW system. This allows us a new interpretation on the rarity of MW-like DoS in cosmological simulations.

  • The spatial distribution of sub-halos in a large host halo is usually described as isotropic in the ${\Lambda}CDM$ cosmology. Recent observations, however, show that satellite galaxies around massive galaxies are often located within a preferred plane. In order to understand the origin of such planar alignment, we investigate the spatial distribution of sub-halos around their hosts by using the hydrodynamic cosmological simulation, Illustris. In particular, we analyze the systems resembling the Milky Way (MW) and its satellites, i.e. consisting of MW-sized central galaxy and its at least 11 satellites. The result shows that ~10 % of MW-like systems have the anisotropic satellite galaxy distribution at z = 0. The satellites that are accreted more recently tend to form a flattened structure more frequently, indicating a link of satellite distribution to the surrounding environment. We discuss the physical origin of the anisotropic satellite distribution from the viewpoint of the ${\Lambda}CDM$ paradigm.

  • This paper is about increasing transfer efficiency of wireless power transmission. The new method is proposed to detect the alignment of transmitter and receiver of wireless charger and so smart phone can display the position of wireless charging receiver on its LCD panel for the maximum charging efficiency. The previous method is only to show the transfer efficiency, but this method is to show not only the efficiency but also coordinates of receiver. The apparatus of the wireless charger is based on WPC(Wireless Power Consortium) standard and has planar air coil combined with magnet shield in Tx and Rx device so that the leakage flux is minimized on condition of under hundreds of kHz operating frequency. In this paper, it's showed that relation of magnet field and distance of each coils can be linearized and position information of Tx and Rx device is calculated thru trigonometry. Through the experiment, the obstacles of linearity are discovered and also showed that it can be optimized. and so the presented method is suitable for alignment detection method of Tx and Rx device in WPC wireless charger.

  • Many of the traffic accidents on roads are a result of alignment defect of the roads. This alignment of the road needs to lie analyzed with accuracy for improving design of road, and it needs the design drawing of road, and coordinates of the main point. Accordingly, in this study the precision of location based on existing design drawing was compared with the data acquired by the combination of RTK GPS/GLONASS. The result of study is included within range 5cm, we would like to propose an effective and useful approach method to utilize the satellite for road alignment information system by evaluating the represented road alignment.

  • In this paper, design and implementation issues for a network-oriented RF emitter localization system with array antenna are discussed. For hardware, the problem of array mismatch and RF/IF channel mismatch are introduced and the calibration schemes for solving those problems are also provided. For software, it is explained how to overcome the drawback of conventional MUltiple Signal Identification and Classification (MUSIC) algorithm in a point of identifying the number of received signals and problems such as Data Association Problem and Ghost Node Problem in regard to multiple emitter localization are presented with some approaches for getting around those problems. Finally, for implementation, a criterion for arranging each of sensors and a requirement for alignment of array antenna' orientation are also given.

  • In this study, optical design for small satellite camera equipped with online optical compensation movements has been conducted. Satellite camera equipped with compensation movements at M2 mirror and focal plane can guarantee the MTF performance through the focal plane image stabilization and the on-orbit optical alignment. The designed optical system is schmidt-cassegrain type that has M1 mirror of a diameter 200mm, GSD 3.8m at an altitude of 700km, and 50 % MTF performance. The performance of the designed optical system has been analyzed through the method of ray aberration curve, spot diagram, and MTF. It has been found by the optical performance analysis that the designed optical system satisfies the optical requirements of satellite camera equipped with online optical compensation movements.

  • In this paper, the structural analysis of the Geostationary Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite-2 (GEO-KOMPSAT-2) tubing system is discussed, and the structural integrity of the tubing system is assessed by comparative analysis with the results of overseas partner AIRBUS. Securing structural reliability of the tubing system is a very important key element of the propulsion system of the GEO-KOMPSAT-2 satellite. Therefore, FE modeling of the propulsion tubing was carried out directly using the CAE program, and structural analysis was performed to evaluate the stress state under launch conditions. Hoop stress, axial stress, bending stress, and torsion stress were calculated according to diverse load conditions by using pressure stress analysis, thruster alignment analysis, sine qualification load analysis, and random qualification load analysis. From the results, the Margin of Safety (MoS) of the tubing system is evaluated, and we can verify the structural integrity of the tubing system when subjected to various launch loads.
