Objectives The purpose of this study is to know hematologic characteristics of patients with stroke in Sasang Constitutional Medicine which will be helpful for the prevention and treatment of stroke. Methods We collected data from 111 patients who received treatment as a stroke inpatient at one Korean medicine hospital in Busan, Korea. A Sasang Constitutional Medicine(SCM) specialist diagnosed their Sasang Constitutional types based on the four diagnosis standard of SCM and herbal medicine reaction. Results of hematologic tests were classified according to gender, age, stroke types and Sasang Constitutional types and analysed by SAS system. Results 1. Male's mean value of RBC count, Hemoglobin and Hematocrit was lower than normal range. 2. The mean value of hsCRP of above age 65 group was 3.19 times significantly higher than under age 65 group. 3. The mean value of platelet of cerebral hemorrhage group was significantly higher than cerebral infarction group. 4. The mean value of triglyceride of Taeeumin was significantly higher than Soyangin and Soeumin. Conclusions For the prevention of stroke, appropriate treatment of stress, trauma and infections is needed and male require a regular and balanced meals. Especially Taeeumin need to eat small meals to avoid excessive accumulation of energy.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy of Sasang constitutional herb medicine for the treatment in postmenopausal women having various complaints. Methods From December 2016 to July 2017, four cases of women having climacteric complaints were extracted. Results Their main symptoms were hot flush, insomnia, sweating, cold sensation, and excitation. Their Sasang constitutional types were 2 Soyangin and 2 Taeeumin. Main symptomology of Soyangin was Chest-heat congested symptomology and that of Taeeumin was Esophagus-cold symptomology or Esophagus-cold Lung-dry Symptomology. Conclusions Their symptomolgies of Soyangin and Taeeumin lied in the Interior disease rather than Exterior disease, in the Advanced disease rather than Mild disease. It could show that Sasang constitutional medicine and management is possible to be indicated in climacteric disorders.

Hak-Jil(瘧疾) has a broad sense of affection due to exgenous pathogenic factors including repeating creeping chill, fever and aversion to heat during fever, in Oriental Medicine. Hak-jil(瘧疾) has a very fast progress and seriousness, so patients and protectors want to visiting western medicinal hospital, not oriental medicinal hospital. But, We accidentally met Soeumin man having Hak-jil(瘧疾) and acquired good results by treatment him with Sasang Constitutional Medicinal method. This paper describe the process and contents about the way the patient was cured.

1. Objectives The aim of this study was to find out clinical characteristics of atopic dermatitis according to Sasang Constitutions and to help on Sasang Constitutional management and treatment of atopic dermatitis 2. Methods 108patients with atopic dermatitis were involved in the study. The patients had visited C Oriental Clinic from January 2007 to September 2007 and had taken oriental herbal medicine for over one month. They were divided into four groups by Sasang Constitutions and were evaluated the clinical features of atopic dermatitis according to Sasang Constitutions. 3. Results and Conclusions The clinical characteristics for 108 patients with atopic dermatitis was surveyed 1. Soyangin with atopic dermatitis had significantly more Allergic conjunctivitis than other Constitutions, and Taeumin with atopic dermatitis had significantly less Allergic conjunctivitis than other Constitutions. 2. Soyangin with atopic dermatitis had significantly more 'Sleep loss' than other Constitutions. 3. Emotion was significantly more aggravating factor of atopic dermatitis in Soyangin than in other Constitutions. 4. Soeumin with atopic dermatitis had significantly more 'Orbital darkening' than other Constitution. 5. 'Tuna' was significantly more aggravating factor of atopic dermatitis in Soeumin than in other Constitution. The treatment progress for 57 patients with atopic dermatitis was surveyed 6. Soyangin with atopic dermatitis had significantly more improvement than other Constitution and Soeumin with atopic dermatitis had significantly less improvement than other Constitution in Sasang Constitutional Medicine treatment.

1. Objectives: The purpose of this case study is to evaluate the effects of Sasang constitutional therapy and treatment of an adult atopic dermatitis patient, who was diagnosed Soyangin, Interior febrile disease induced from the stomach affected by heat(少陽人 胃受熱裏熱病). 2. Methods: The adult Atopic Dermatitis patient was diagnosed Soyangin, Interior febrile disease induced from the stomach affected by heat(少陽人 胃受熱裏熱病) which was based on his Nature & Emotion(性情), physical characteristics, symptoms. He was medicated with Prescriptions of Soyangin. 3. Results and Conclusions: The clinical evaluation was made by SCORAD index, Total eosinophil count and Total IgE. After treatment, his SCORAD results significantly decreased from 88.4 to 21.9, Total eosinophil count decreased from 1320 to 120 and Total IgE also decreased from 1406.6 to 897.3. And the patient's subjective symptom and gerneral condition considerably improved after treatment. This case study describe the effectiveness on adult Atopic Aermatitis symptom by using Prescriptions of Soyangin.

Objectives The aim of this study was to report significant improvement of vertigo, tinnitus and aural fullness after treatment with Cheongsimyeonja-tang in a Taeeumin patient with Meniere's disease. Methods The patient was diagnosed with Taeeumin Dry-heat symptomatic pattern and treated with Cheongsimyeonja-tang and acupuncture. The patient's subjective symptoms of vertigo, tinnitus and aural fullness were observed using Global Assessment Scale (GAS) during the treatment period. Results & Conclusions The symptoms of vertigo, tinnitus and aural fullness decreased from GAS 100 to GAS 0 for seven weeks. Furthermore, the patient's symptoms of insomnia, urinary frequency, chest discomfort and fatigue were reported to be improved after treatment. In conclusion, this study shows that Sasang Constitutional Medicine can be effective treatment for Taeeumin patient with Meniere's disease diagnosed as Dry-heat symptomatic pattern.

Diabetic nephropathy is defined that renal glomeruluses are damaged by diabetes melitus and proteins that are not excreted to urine normally are exhausted, or do not excrete waste matter to urine, so-called chronic renal failure state. Clinical stage is explained divided 5. If reached 4 or 5 stage, overt proteinuria is occurred to clinical nephropathy, and hypoalbuminemia, azotemia, hypertension, and edema become serious. Concept about edema is differing comprehension about mechanism of a disease, and treatment methodaccording to Sasang Constitution in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. I treated edemtous Soyangin(少陽人) patient with Dojeokgangkitang(導赤降氣湯) who diagnosed as diabetic nephropathy and wrongly treated in Soeumin. I have got good results, so I do case study.

Objectives This study was aimed to develop the clinical practice guidelines, which focuses on Sasang Constitutional Medicine symptomology. By developing clinical practice guidelines, we should present prevention, diagnosis, treatment and assessment of Sasang Constitutional Medicine. Methods We used the method of University of Michigan Health System Guidelines model. Electronic databases including English, Korean databases were systematically searched for clinical articles investigating Sasang Constitutional Medicine symptomology up to March 2010. And "Donguisusebowon-ShinChukbon" was basically used to develop clinical guidelines. Results and Conclusions 12,694 Articles were reviewed. Only 25 articles described adequate methods of this study. Using clinical practice guidelines, we can manage th quality of medicine, emphasis treatment appropriacy and educate patients and doctors. Finally We can get the Sasang Constitutional Medicine standardization and socioeconomic benefit.

Objective Insomnia is a common symptom among cerebral infarction patients. The purpose of this study is to report a case which showed sypmtoms improvement after treatment with Hyeongbangsabaek-san. Method To evaluate the results of this treatment, Insomnia severity index(ISI), Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI), Korean version of Beck depression inventory(K-BDI), Sleep dairy results were measured. Result The patient who suffered from severe insomnia after cerebral infarction attack was treated by Hyeongbangsabaek-san and acupuncture therapy for about 3 weeks. She refused to take Western medicine for insomnia, and after treated with Hyeongbangsabaek-san and acupuncture, her sleep quality showed improvement. Conclusion This study suggests that using Sasang constitutuional medical treatment is effective for Soyangin patient with insomnia after cerebral infarction attack.

Introduction This study aims to report a significant improvement of Sjögren's syndrome patient with irritable bladder, diagnosed as 'Soyangin chest-binding symptomatology' based on Sasang medicine. Methods The patient had treatment with 'Dojeokganggi-tang' and western medications. We evaluated the treatment outcome of Sjögren's syndrome symptoms by using a numerical score of 0 to 10, based on the patient's subjective discomfort of dry eye and dry mouth, and irritable bladder symptoms by recording the number of night urination every month. Results Sjögren's syndrome symptoms were significantly improved, and the number of night urination was decreased. After 41 weeks of treatment, the patient didn't have dry mouth any more and had only a little dry eye. The number of night urination was decreased from 3-4 times to once a night. Discussion The patient diagnosed with Sjögren's syndrome, treated with Dojeokganggi-tang and western medications for 41 weeks, showed a significant improvement in dry eye, dry mouth, and night urination compared to the first visit.
