영남지역 내 하위지역 구분 (Classification of Subregions in Yeongnam Region)

  • 본 연구는 영남지역 내 하위지역들을 구분하고 그 핵심부를 파악함으로써, 영남지역에 내재된 문화적 특성을 밝히는 기반을 제공하고자 하였다. 지역의 인문환경 요소인 행정구역과 방언, 그리고 자연환경 요소인 하천유역과 기후 분포를 중첩하고, 계수관과 유사한 환경요소를 갖는 범위를 하위지역으로 설정하였다. 요소들의 조합이 동일하게 나타나는 구획은 1개의 시 군으로 이루어진 것에서부터 6개의 시 군으로 이루어진 것에 이르기까지 모두 27개의 구획으로 구분되었다. 이들은 안동, 상주, 경주, 대구, 김해, 진주 증 6개의 하위지역으로 구분되었다. 각 하위지역은 유통에 장애가 되는 산줄기나 하천을 경계로 하며, 장애가 뚜렷하지 않은 경우에는 점이지대가 나타났다. 안동하위지역은 봉화와 예천, 영주, 의성, 군위, 영양, 청송, 영덕, 울진 등으로 이루어져 있으며, 상주하위지역은 상주와 구미, 김천, 문경을 포함한다. 경주하위지역은 경주와 영천, 포항 등을 포함하고, 대구하위지역은 대구와 칠곡, 고령, 성주, 경산, 청도 등으로 이루어져 있다. 김해하위지역은 김해와 양산, 부산, 울산, 창녕, 밀양 등을 포함하며, 진주하위지역은 진주와 합천, 의령, 사천, 고성, 통영, 남해, 함안, 거창, 함양, 산청, 하동, 창원, 거제 등으로 이루어져 있다.

Urban Forest Monitoring in Korea since 1991: Case Study on Daegu Metropolitan City

  • To have better urban forests in future we are focusing on two major issues like other countries. How we could have more urban forest-quantitative approach-against the expanding of urbanization, and how we could produce better urban forest-qualitative approach-to give a chance in contact with better nature for urban people. Prime surveys on urban forests have been carried out in 6 major cities since 1991, and the city of Daegu which is located on the east southern area of Korea have been case studied for qualitative approaches during last 3 years. Major species of the remnant forests were Pinus densiflora, Pinus rigida, Pinus thunbergii and Robinia pseudoacacia. Approximately 20% of the surveyed forests were lost their structure as forests caused by illegal farming, facilities and as the bare ground by excessive visitors. Generally speaking the condition of forests for biotope was very poor in overall. From two years data of monitoring of birds, we found that wooded parkways and woodland squares had more species than street tree areas. Nests were found mainly on the branch of Zelkova serrata, Pinus densiflora and Quercus myrsinaefolia. The size of urban forests mainly determined the species richness of birds. According to the oxygen output and carbon input by photosynthesis measurement, the capability was in order of Platanus occidentalis, Zelkova serrata and Ginko biloba. Air conditioning effects of trees through transpiration measurement was found and the quality of forests also related to the reducing of urban heat-island.

농촌지역 개발사업 공동시설의 활용도 기준체계 정립을 통한 실태 파악 연구 (Comparing Stakeholder Perceptions on the Reasons for Rural Underutilization of Common Facilities )

  • In this study, the problem of the idleness of public buildings in rural areas is seriously emerging, but there are no clear standards for assessing the utilization of these buildings. Therefore, this study endeavors to investigate the actual state of idleness of buildings created by rural area development projects based on the criteria for each type. As part of this study, rural facilities were selected in two locations in Sangju City and Miryang City among the target areas of the Rural Agreement. Utilization evaluation criteria were developed to identify the conditions of underutilization. In order to determine the utilization pattern for each facility type, an in-depth interview with the operator and an inspection of the facility were conducted. Based on the analysis, the degree of utilization (e.g., low use, non-use, etc.) was different for each facility type, and among the four facility types (rural tourism, culture and welfare, exercise and recreation, income-based), rural tourism was rated as the least efficient. It has been found that the operating entity's capacity has a significant influence on the utilization of facilities. Socioeconomic factors, such as a decrease in utilization rates, are greatly influenced by the operating entity's capacity. Therefore, support from local governments as well as the national level is required to recycle idle facilities. Lastly, this study suggests the need for different standards for utilization, depending on the type of facility. This moves beyond checking the degree of idleness by the same standard that was previously implemented.

  • Emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are one of the popular issues of air pollution in Korea, especially in Ulsan city, where much chemical plants are located. It is necessary to detect the VOCs precisely in order to control the air pollution during the plant operation. In general, to examine the concentration of VOCs, gas chromatography (GC) is used. However, most plant operators are using the easy operating handy VOCs detector, which is imported, because GC is difficult to treat and the installation price is high although it is very useful equipment. Therefore, the development of the VOCs detector becomes one of the urgent issues. In this study, sensing characteristics of selected VOCs for the development of VOCs detector was investigated. Semiconductor sensor and several VOCs such as aliphatic, aromatic, and non-homogeneous hydrocarbons were used for the experiment. Through the various experiments, sensor used in the experiment has shown high linearity and sensitivity for most VOCs in the range of 1 -500 ppm concentration.

경북북부지역의 상류주택에 관한 조사연구 (A Study on Upper-Class House in North Kyeung-Buk Region)

  • This paper was made to examine floor plan and block plan of traditional upper-class houses in the north Kyeungsangbukdo region with consideration into city and country each. The results of this study were as following; First, Munkyung area is latitudinally located in northern area along with the Yechon and Andong. However, Munkyung area has open plot system while Yechon and Andong has not. It is because even if Munkyung area is located in the western of Nak-Dong river and belongs to the northern region, it has belonged to the cultural area which is developed around Sangju area. Second, Youngduk area belongs to the east-coast but it had frequent cultural exchange and marriage with Andong which is located on the road along with Tae-Baek Mountain. Due to the cultural exchange, their housing type is very similar to those of Andong which is close plot plan of "ㅁ" type. Therefore, even if Youngduk is located in the east-coast area, it should belong to the cultural background of Andong area. Regionally, the culture of Kyongsangbukdo has been divided into northern area, southern area, and east-coast area. But, the findings of this study indicate that the analysis of location and floor plan of housing should not be based on the natural environment oand geographic characteristics. Hence, it should be based on the all aspects of environment, including social and cultural nature to find more reliable and accurate results.e results.

낙동강 상류유역의 지역별 비점오염부하 특성 (Regional Characteristics of Nonpoint Source Pollutant Loads in the Upstream Watersheds of Nakdong River)

  • The characteristics of nonpoint source pollutant loads in upstream of Nakdong River were studied through analysis of pollutant loads of 10 sub-watersheds divided based on administrative district. The discharge and pollutant concentration of each sub-watershed were collected from Nakdong-River Water Research Institute and Daegu Regional Environmental office, respectively. Pollution items analysed in this study were BOD, T-N and T-P. The delivery loads of the nonpoint source pollutions of each sub-watershed were calculated after analysing the concentration of the pollution of each site. Several points were found from the results. Firstly, in general, city areas including Sangju, Andong showed higher degree of nonpoint pollution than country areas including Cheongsong, Yeongyang. The sub-watersheds located upstream side, such as Yeongju, Bonghwa, Necessarily show better water quality than the sub-watersheds located downstream side, such as Mungyeong, Uiseong. This result indicates that a given pollution condition within the watershed can be more sensitive than location factor to the level of water quality. Secondly, the delivery load and area of watershed were not necessarily correlated in the sense of water quality, while the discharge was shown to be highly correlated to the delively load of pollution. Lastly, sewage and waste caused from population and livestock, as well as landuse factor, were found to significantly contribute to the water pollution. Alternative solutions for controlling pollution source, therefore, should be provided to meet target levels of water quality in these regions.

경북 김천지역 성인의 식행동 특성 (Dietary Behaviors of Adults in Kimcheon City)

  • This study was to investigate the changes in dietary practices, reasons for making dietary changes, current food consumption patterns, and eating habits. Data were collected from 515 parents whose children were attending an elementary school and a middle school in Kimcheon. Among the twenty food groups studied, subjects reported eating more fruit, vegetables, lower-fat meats, high-fat meats, reduced/skim milk, and eggs and less sugar, fats, rice, salt, potato/sweet potato, and chicken. The changes in dietary practices except high-fat meats and salt were significantly different between sex, age, education level, income level, or BMI groups. The primary reason for making dietary changes was 'concerned about family's health'. The average rate of never eating breakfast or less than 2 times per week was found to be 23.2% with a greater rate in younger age group. The rate of breakfast skipping was found to vary between different age and education groups. The regularity of mealtime and overeating practices were significantly different between age groups. Eating out practices were found to vary between different age, education, and income groups. People at younger age group in Kimcheon should be targeted for nutrition education about eating habits. These findings are applicable at the planning and implementation stages of various nutritional improvement projects.

소도시 주부의 과일과 채소에 관련된 행동과 태도에 관한 연구 (Attitudes and Behaviors Related to Fruit and Vegetables among Housewives in the Small City)

  • This study was to investigate the consumption pattern, behaviors, and motivational attitudes related to fruit and vegetables. Data were collected from 344 mothers whose children were attending an elementary school and a middle school in Kimcheon. The average vegetable expenses were under 10,000 won per week. The frequency of purchasing vegetables was 2-3 times a week. Housewives usually bought the vegetables at local markets and grand shopping centers. As for buying vegetables, housewives considered the organic vegetables, preference, price, and nutrition in order. In the family, the vegetables were favored by husbands most and by sons least. The average fruit expenses were under 10,000 won per week. The frequency of purchasing fruit was 2-3 times a week. Housewives usually bought the fruit at local markets and grand shopping centers. As for buying fruit, housewives considered preference, price, and nutrition in order. The fruit were favored by all members most and by husbands least. Housewives identified barriers to increasing vegetables and fruit consumption, including preference for other foods, lack of availability, cost, and time and effort to prepare. Several implications for nutrition interventions were suggested. First, a key motivation for these women was eating healthy food when they are pregnant, suggesting a persuasive appeal to use in interventions. Second, review of the women's current behaviors led to an identification of four specific behaviors that had the most potential for increasing overall consumption. Finally, the findings suggested ways in which nutrition interventions could address each of the barriers identified.

교정시설 소년수용자와 일반 고등학교 남학생의 식습관, 식품 섭취 및 기호 비교 (A Comparison of Eating Habit, Food Intake and Preference between Juvenile Delinquents and Male High School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the eating habit, food intake frequency and preferred food and taste of juvenile delinquents (100 numbers) and male high school students (100 numbers), using questionnaires from August to October 2004. 1) It was shown that the juvenile delinquents took more unbalanced diet (p<0.05), smoking (p<0.001) and drinking (p<0.001) than general students, while general students had more eating between meals (p<0.01). 2) The intake of food was a significant difference in white rices (p<0.01), bibimbab (p<0.001), kimbab (p<0.001), fried rice (p<0.001), ramen (p<0.001), jajangmyun (p<0.001), jambong (p<0.001), hamburger (p<0.001), pizza (p<0.001) and breads (p<0.05). The juvenile delinquents took more major food than that of general students in all the items except for white rice. It was observed, then, that the juvenile delinquents showed more intake of such subsidiary foods as bulgoki (p<0.001), roasted thin pork chops (p<0.001), grilled pork belly (p<0.001), pork cutlet (p<0.01), sweet and sour pork (p<0.001), chicken with ginseng (p<0.001), fried chicken (p<0.001), kimchi pot stew (p<0.01) and zucchini (p<0.05) than general students, with general students taking more kimchi (p<0.01) and fried or boiled soybean curd (p<0.01). The intake of dessert was a significant difference in yogurt (p<0.01), orange juice (p<0.001), cola (p<0.001), soft drinks (p<0.001), ion drinks (p<0.001), coffee (p<0.001), apple (p<0.01), banana (p<0.001), orange (p<0.001), cake (p<0.001), hot dog (p<0.001), ddokbokgi (p<0.01), mandu (p<0.001), fried fish paste (p<0.05), steamed korean sausage (p<0.001), fried foods (p<0.05), hem & sausage (p<0.001), cheese (p<0.001), ice-cream (p<0.001), candy (p<0.01), chocolate (p<0.001), mayonnaise (p<0.05), jam (p<0.01) and butter & margarine (p<0.01). Then, the juvenile delinquents were shown to entirely have more intake of all the desserts than those of general students. 3) Regarding preference of foods, it was shown that the juvenile delinquents preferred cereals (p<0.05), grilled pork belly (p<0.001), chicken with ginseng (p<0.01), anchovies and small fish (p<0.05), chicken with ginseng (p<0.05), seasoned spinach (p<0.001), seasoned zucchini (p<0.001), milk (p<0.05), coffee (p<0.001) and butter & margarine (p<0.05) while general students did egg (p<0.01), soybean sprout soup (p<0.001), boiled or fried potato (p<0.05), seasoned soybean sprout (p<0.05), boiled or fried soybean curd (p<0.01), fried foods (p<0.01) and snack (p<0.05). For their preference of tastes, hot taste (p<0.01) was higher in the juvenile delinquents. 4) Under general environments there was a change of the difference in their behaviour of pork cutlet (p<0.01) intake in accordance with other family and of milk (p<0.001) and butter & margarine (p<0.05) preference in accordance with growth in a big city between the two groups.

오미자(Schizandra chinensis Baillon) 추출물의 생리활성 (Biological Activity of Omija (Schizandra chinensis Baillon) Extracts)

  • 오미자 추출물로부터 항산화효과 및 ${\alpha}-amylase$, ${\alpha}-glucosidase$ 저해활성 및 Helicobacter pylori균에 대한 항균효과를 알아보았다. 페놀함량을 측정한 결과 물 추출물에서는 4.35 mg/g로 나타났으며, ethanol 추출물에서는 60% ethanol 추출물이 6.35 mg/g로 가장 높은 페놀함량을 나타내었다. 항산화효과와 ${\alpha}-amylase$, ${\alpha}-glucosidase$ 저해활성은 추출물의 농도를 200 ${\mu}g/ml$로 조절하여 실험하였다. DPPH에 대한 전자공여능은 물 추출물에서는 97.5%, 60% ethanol 추출물에서는 96.2%로 나타났으며, ABTS radical decolorlization을 측정한 결과 물 추출물에서는 96.8%, 60% ethanol 추출물에서는 97.0%로 나타났다. Antioxidant protection factor에서는 물 추출물이 1.77 PF, 60% ethanol 추출물은 2.08 PF로 나타났으며, PF와 같이 지용성 물질의 항산화력을 나타내는 TBARS값은 control값이 $1.17{\times}10^2$ ${\mu}M$으로 나타났고, 물 추출물에서는 $1.03{\times}10^2$ ${\mu}M$, 60% ethanol 추출물에서는 $0.54{\times}10^2$ ${\mu}M$의 TBARS값을 나타내어 지질과산화 억제 효과는 물 추출물보다 60% ethanol 추출물이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. ${\alpha}-Amylase$ 저해활성을 측정한 결과, 물과 60% ethanol 추출물 모두에서 100%의 높은 저해활성을 나타내었으며, ${\alpha}-glucosidase$ 저해활성효과는 물 추출물에서는 97.4%, 60% ethanol 추출물에서는 84.5%로 물 추출물에서 더 높게 나타났다. H. pylori균에 대한 항균활성은 200 ${\mu}g/ml$의 농도의 60% ethanol 추출물에서 $23{\pm}1.6$ mm의 저해환을 나타내었다.
