We performed this study to determine the radioprotective effect of Sam Ryung Baek Chul San (San Ling Bai Shu San), as a prescription of traditional Oriental medicine, and its major ingredients. Jejunal crypt survival, endogenous spleen colony formation, and apoptosis in jejunal crypt cells were investigated in irradiated mice with high and low dose of rays. Sam Ryung Baek Chul San administration before irradiation increased the formation of endogenous spleen colony(p<0.05) and reduced the frequency of radiation induced apoptosis(p<0.05). In the experiment on the effect of ingredients of Sam Ryung Baek Chul San, the result indicated that the extracts of Panax ginseng, Poria cocos and Coix lacryma jabi might have the major radioprotective effects. Although the mechanisms of these inhibitory effects remain to be elucidated, these results indicated that Sam Ryung Baek Chul San might be a useful radioprotector, especially since it is a relatively nontoxic natural product.

The detection of C-reactive protein(CRP) using self-assembled monolayer(SAM) was investigated by a portable surface plasmon resonance(SPR) sensor system. The CRP is a biomarker for the possible cardiovascular disease. The SAM was formed on gold(Au) surface to anchor the monoclonal antibody of CRP(anti-CRP) for detection of CRP. Sequence injection of the anti-CRP and bovine serum albumin(BSA) into the sensor system has been carried out immobilize the antibody and to prevent non-specific binding. The portable SPR system has two flow channels: one for the sample measurements and the other for the reference. The output SPR signal was increased with the injection of the anti-CRP, BSA and CRP due to binding of the proteins on the sensor chip. The valid output SPR signals was linearly related to the critical range of the CRP concentration. The experimental results showed the feasibility of the portable SPR system with newly developed SAM to diagnose a risk of the future cardiovascular events.

The flexible organic thin film transistor (OTFT) array to use as a switching device for an organic light emitting diode (OLED) was designed and fabricated in the microcontact printing and low-temperature processes. The gate, source, and drain electrode patterns of OTFT were fabricated by microcontact printing which is high-resolution lithography technology using polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) stamp. The OTFT array with dielectric layer and organic active semiconductor layers formed at room temperature or at a temperature tower than $40^{\circ}C$. The microcontact printing process using SAM(self-assembled monolayer) and PDMS stamp made it possible to fabricate OTFT arrays with channel lengths down to even nano size, and reduced the procedure by 10 steps compared with photolithography. Since the process was done in low temperature, there was no pattern transformation and bending problem appeared. It was possible to increase close packing of molecules by SAM, to improve electric field mobility, to decrease contact resistance, and to reduce threshold voltage by using a big dielecric.

Kyu-Soo Park wrote the book "Gur Ga Jap Bok Ko" (Proposition for Household Casuals) around A.D. 1865. He was a widely-learned man and a proponent of Korean self-consciou-seness like his fellow Pragmafist against then prevailing Chinese influence, which had already penetrated deeply into ordinary life style. According to this fact we can see not only the general dress-cystoms but the new customs of some high-birth People with evident self-consciouseness like him at that time. For example, they wore "Sim Eui" and "Bok Gun" as the dress of their ordinary life in spite of the general dress custom wearing the "Do Po" (Traditional Korean full-dress attire) and "Gat" (Traditional cylindrical Korean hat) as an ordinary or a ceremonial dress irrespective of rank at that time. Women wore an overcoat with "Chima" and "Jur. Go Ri" instead of the shortened "Jur, Go Ri" and buttock exagerating "Chima" largely popular at that time too. And also wore "So Eui" instead of "won Sam" or "Dang Eui" prevailing for the psychological resemblance of higher ranking group. Male yougnsters wore "Sa Gyu Sam" as an ordinary life dress and Girls wore "Chima and Jur Go Ri".

This study has been carried out to investigate Pyu-Juk ( 肺積 ), Pyu-Ong ( 肺癰 ), Pyu-Ju ( 肺疽 ), Pyu-Am ( 肺癌 ) by referring to 56 literatures. The results were obtained as follows; 1.
