Pleomorphic adenoma is a benign salivary gland tumor with histologic diversity. The majority of these tumor occurs in the parotid gland. The authors experienced the patients, who complained the tumor-like soft tissue mass on the palatal area. After careful analysis of clinical, radiological and histopathological findings, we diagnosed it as pleomorphic adenoma in the palatal area, and obtained characteristic features were as follows: 1. Main clinical symptom was a painless, slow growing, soft tissue mass with normal intact overlying mucosa on the palatal area. 2. In the radiographic examminations, well encapsulated homogeneous soft tissue mass was shown in the lesion site, and cortical thinning on the palate was also observed. 3. In histopathologic examminations, proliferated cellular components in the hyaline stroma were observed as double layered duct-like structure and densely solid sheet appearance.

Sj${\ddot{o}}$gren's syndrome is a chronic autoimmune exocrinopathy that destroys salivary and lacrimal gland tissue. We report an unusual case of this disease in a 54-year-old woman who presented with multiple and bilateral parotid cystic masses. The multiple, small, bead-like cysts were clearly evident in the computed tomography sections in this patient, a visible reminder that this may be the initial presentation in a patient with Sj${\ddot{o}}$gren's syndrome. As the case illustrates, Sj${\ddot{o}}$gren's syndrome should be included in the differential diagnosis of multiple and bilateral cystic parotid lesions.

Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma (EMC) is a low grade malignant neoplasm that commonly occurs in the parotid gland. Recently, we investigated a case of EMC that occurred in the external auditory canal (EAC) in a 35-year-old male, and this tumor was initially diagnosed as pleomorphic adenoma. The difficulty associated with diagnosing EMC by aspiration cytology arises from both the rare incidence of this tumor and the overlapping spectrum of cytological features found in various salivary gland tumors, such as pleomorphic adenoma, basal cell adenoma and adenoid cystic carcinoma.

화에 따른 연두금파리(Lucilia illustris Meigen) 타액선의 미세구조 변화와 타액선 내부에 함유된 분비물질의 형성과정 및 물질의 성분을 전자현미경 및 효소세포화학적 방법으로 관찰하였 다. 종령유충기의 타액선은 식도의 좌우에 위치한 한쌍의 반투명한 관으로 단층으로 배열된 편평형의 세포들로 이루어져 있었다. 세포질에는 조면소포체와 골지복합체가 풍부하였고, 세포내 물질의 생성이 매우 활발하였으며, 세포질내에 축적된 분비과립은 부분분비에 의해 배출되었다. 전용기의 타액선은 세포가 비후해짐에 따라 타액선의 내감이 줄어들며 타액선의 길이도 감소하였으며, 세포질내 조면소포체의 양적 감소와 대형분비과립의 형성이 현저하였다. 용기에는 대형의 자식성 액포들이 황범위하게 형성되어 있었으며 이는 유충시기의 타액선이 변태과정을 거치며 퇴화되는 것으로 사료되었다. 타액선 세포에 대한 acid phosphatase외 반응은 주로 내강면에 인접한 리소조옴에서 양성반응이 나타났으며, 종령유충 시기의 타액선 세포질내 지질성분은 주로 기저부에 존재하였으나, 용 형성 48시간 이후에는 관찰되지 않았다.

Pleomorphic adenoma is the most common benign neoplasm of the salivary glands. Its three malignant variants include carcinoma ex pleomorphic adenoma, carcinosarcoma, and metastasizing pleomorphic adenoma. Among the subtypes of carcinoma ex pleomorphic adenoma, high-grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma has rarely been reported. Additionally, metastasizing pleomorphic adenoma is rare. We report the imaging findings of a high-grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma ex metastasizing pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid gland and parapharyngeal space in a 42-year-old man.

$K{\ddot{u}}ttner$ tumor is a benign inflammatory disease of the salivary gland that clinically mimics a malignant tumor because of its presentation as a unilateral painless hard mass. However the precise cause of this disease is still unknown. Pathologically, it is characterized by infiltration of IgG4-positive plasma cells. Also, it is accompanied with an elevated level of plasma IgG4. We report one case of $K{\ddot{u}}ttner$ tumor of the right submandibular gland in a 37 year old woman.

Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma (EMC) is a rare type of low-grade malignant tumor that account for approximately 0.5% to 1% of salivary gland neoplasm and arises most commonly in the parotid gland (80%). We introduce three cases of parotid EMC arose as painless cystic mass in male patients over 70 years old. All patients were diagnosed as benign tumors (pleomorphic adenoma) by image and pathologic study (fine needle aspiration) before surgery, but the final histopathologic results were EMC. All three patients underwent parotidectomy without adjuvant radiotherapy. There were no complications such as facial paralysis. No complications or recurrences were observed during follow-up for 6 to 9 months. Since the reports of EMC are still relatively few, we report our three cases with the clinical and pathological review.
