선원들의 에이즈에 관한 지식, 태도 및 예방행위에 관한 조사연구 (A Survey of Sailors Knowledge, Attitudes and Preventive Behaviors about AIDS)

  • This study was to assess Korean sailors' knowldege, attitudes and behaviors about AIDS. The subjects of this study were 379 safety-trainee sailors. Data were collected by self reporting on a questionnaire during February to March 1996. The results were as follows : The mean score on AIDS knowledge was 17.3 out of a possible maximum score of 24.0. With respect to diseas transmission , only 45.6-86.5percent of the sailors correctly indicated that causal contact does not lead to contraction AIDS. The younger, unmarried , and educated groups had a higher level of knowledge about AIDS. With respect t sailors' attitudes about ADIS, 85.2 percent of the sailors reported that the AIDS is as big a problem as the media suggested, and over half of the sailors(53.8%) reported that they are being afraid of getting AIDS. One attitude, which was most pervasive(903.1 percent agreeing) was that it is important for sailors to receive AIDS education as a part of social education classes. In attitudes , there was statistical significance by age group, marital statistical signifiacance by age group , marital status, and educational level. With respect to sailor's preventive behaviors about AIDS, the mean score was 7.1 out of a possible maximum score of 9.0. It was shown that the older age, married groups had a higher level of preventive behaviors about AIDS.

항해중 선원의 상병 및 치료양상 (Morbidity Rate and Medical Care Utilization of Sailors during the Voyage)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out morbidity rate and utilization pattern of medical services of sailors on a voyage. The subjects of this study were 470 sailors who are sailors' trainee and safety-trainee for embarkation in a ship. Data were collected by means of personal survey conducted from September 5 to October 30, 1988. The subjects were sailed 12.6 months on the average. During the voyage, 49.4% of the sailors had sickness more than once, and 24.7% was unable to work more than a day because of illness. The average monthly morbidity rate was 85.7 per 1,000 and the monthly prevalence rate of disease that was unable to work more than a day was 21.2 per 1,000. The sailors of 40-49 years old had the highest morbidity rate of 103.6 per 1,000/month. The number of days activity restricted due to sickness was 93.4 days per 1,000 persons, and the average duration of illness was 11.2 days per sickness. The proportion of treatment days to sickness days was 48.8%. Considering morbidity unable to work more than a day, the number of those who had traumatic injury were 17.2%, which revealed the highest rate, influenza or cold were 15.5%, and the digestive disease 11.2%. Less than half(42.1%) of patients were treated with medicine kept in the cabin. However, 2.1% was transferred by helicopter and 29.5% was treated at hospitals or clinics in nearby port. In the cabin, 67.4% of patients was cured completely.

어선선원(漁船船員)들의 직업 관련성 질병 실태 조사 (A Questionnaire Survey on Occupational Disease of Fisheries)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out morbidity rate and pattern of occupational disease and affect of variables related disease of Fishing sailors'. The subjects this study were 624 fisheries sailors' who took a safety education course in Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology. This questionnaire was focused on finding the basic data for prevention of occupational disease and promotion health on the fishing sailors'. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, Chi-square, cross tab by SPSS package. The result of this study are as follow. 1) The morbidity rate within recent 12 months was 70.2%. There were significant differences of occurred disease in age, rank, perceived health status, fatigue symptoms, rest time, workload, overtime duration 2) The more aging(p<0.01), perceived fatigue(p<0.01), workload(p<0.01), overtime(p<0.05) and the less perceived health status(p<0.01), rest time(p<0.01), the higher morbidity rate. 3) Considering disease unable to work more than 4 hour, the number of those who had musculoskeletal disease were 20.9%, which revealed the highest rate, digestive disease 14.3%, traumatic disease 13.5%.

  • 코로나바이러스감염증-19(COVID-19) 발생이후 항만으로 입항하는 외국선박의 외국인 선원을 통해 지역감염이 확산되었다. 그러나 항만 인근에는 지역주민들의 반발로 임시생활시설 지정에 큰 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 항만에서 외국인 선원을 통한 코로나 바이러스 감염확산 방지를 위해 항만구역 내에 외국인 선원을 위한 전용 부유식 임시생활시설을 계획하는 것이 목적이다. 부유식 임시생활시설 계획의 구체적인 내용으로 입지선정, 시설규모계획, 유닛시설계획, 유닛시설 조합계획을 제시하였다. 향후 항만구역 내 부유식 임시생활시설은 제1급감염병 확산방지에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Affiliated Coordination of Rescue and Salvage in ASEAN+3

  • On May 12th, 2007 a merchant vessel of Golden Rose (South Korea) sank into near 38 mile from Yentai in China after the vessel collided with a container vessel of Jinsung (China), leaving all 16 sailors, including seven South Koreans, missing. According to the official report. The Chinese vessel, authorities, and South Korean government did not coordination q rescue and salvage for the sailors and vessel properly as follows: 1) The Chinese vessel left the scene without rescue and salvage of the sailors, 2) Chinese authorities failed to comply with law of the sea that required them to report the collision to South Korea immediately after confirming the accident, and 3) The South Korean government is also being criticized for its slow response to the incident since the government did not set up a response team until 21 hours after the incident. In order to reduce this number of sailor missing in future incidents, this research is studied regarding assembling conferences, assigning SRR in ASEAN+3, simplicity to enter other territory waters and cooperative training and education for the SAR.

"많은 낯선 것들이 힌트로 제공되었다": 피쿼드호 선원들의 조직정체성 형성 관점에서 본 허먼 멜빌의 『모비딕』에 나오는 갬의 의미 ("Many Strange Things Were Hinted": The Meaning of Gams in Herman Melville's Moby-Dick from the Perspective of the Sailors' Formation of Group Identity)

  • This paper attempts to interpret the meaning of nine gams in Herman Melville's Moby-Dick. It approaches the topic from an organizational identity perspective. It is the theory which asserts the importance of the reference group in the formation of group members' organizational identity. This paper views the gams as the reference groups for the sailors of the Pequod and shows what meanings or questions each gam presents to them. It divides the nine gams into three groups according to their functions in the organizational sense. This paper argues that the extremely dangerous quest of the Pequod is not led by the captain only, but the sailors, who are given many chances to make their decisions after having gams, eventually choose to obey and follow their leader. The tragic end is partly what they choose, after all.

  • 최근 여객용 선박을 즐기는 다양한 층이 확대되면서 일반 여행자들에게 공개하지 못할 공간 및 정보 등이 있다. 이런 이유로 특정 선박승무원 출입만 허용할 수 있는 보안시스템이 필요하다. 현재 보안시스템에 가장 많이 사용되는 생체인식 즉 지문, 홍채, 정맥 등 다양한 방법을 사용한다. 하지만 이 방법들은 흔적을 남기므로 또 따른 목적으로 사용할 수 있는 단점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존 암호입력 인터페이스의 문제점인 지문이 남는 위험을 방지하고자 손동작을 2차원 입력 영상으로부터 획득하여 손동작을 인식하고 3차원 영상 큐브를 이용한 암호입력 인터페이스 설계하고 구현한다.

외항상선 외국인선원 입국 후 교육의 체계화에 관한 기초연구 (A Study on the Systematization of Education after the Entry of Foreign Seafarers who is On-boarding in Ocean-going Merchant Vessel in Korea)

  • 해운산업구조의 변화에 따라 다양한 국적의 선원을 자국민 선원과 함께 승선시키는 혼승선박이 증가하고 있다. 선상 업무의 특성과 함께 혼승에 따른 문화가 형성되고 이는 선내 생활환경의 변화를 초래하여 의사소통의 문제, 교육훈련의 부족 등 다양한 문제점을 야기하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 혼승에 따른 문제점을 파악하고 해결하기 위해 외항선 외국인선원 입국 후 교육의 체계화를 위한 방안을 제시하였다. 다양한 규모의 선사에서 외국인선원의 인사 관련 업무를 담당하고 있는 인원을 대상으로 설문을 실시하고 IBM SPSS Statistic 26 프로그램을 사용하여 설문 결과를 분석하였다. 설문 조사 결과에 따라 외국인선원 교육형태, 교육방법, 문제점 등을 파악하고 이를 기반으로 관련 교육의 체계화를 통해 문제점을 해결할 3가지 개선방안을 제시하였다.

VR 기반 선원 안전교육용 콘텐츠 개발 (Development of VR-Based Safety Education Content for Sailors)

  • 매년 해양사고를 줄이고자 선원들에게 정기적인 안전교육이 제공된다. 그러나 물리적인 교육 공간의 한계로 일부 피교육자는 피교육자가 원하는 시점에 안전교육을 받지 못하는 문제가 발생한다. 최근 기존 교육방식의 문제점을 극복할 수 있는 기술로 VR 기술이 주목받고 있다. 몰입감의 향상을 위하여 가상환경과 사용자의 상호작용의 제공이 가능하고, 비대면 교육을 수행할 수 있기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 야간 등화식별 교육, 소형 및 중형 화제 교육, 컨테이너 퇴선 교육으로 구성된 VR 기반 선원 안전교육용 콘텐츠 개발을 수행하였다. 또한, 교육 효과를 정량적 평가하기 위하여 각 교육 콘텐츠의 체험 후 몰입감, 용이성, 기존 교육방식과의 비교 그리고 VR 교육 콘텐츠의 만족도에 대한 설문조사를 수행하였다. 설문조사 결과 몰입감은 53.83%의 긍정 평가를 받을 수 있었으며, 용이성은 65.38%의 긍정 평가를 받을 수 있었다. 그리고 기존 교육방식과의 비교 항목은 69.23%의 긍정 평가를 받을 수 있었다. 마지막으로 VR 교육 콘텐츠의 만족도 항목은 항목에선 약 46%의 긍정 평가를 얻었으며, 중립은 34%의 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.
