Near-IR Polarimetric Study of N159/160 Star-Forming Regions

  • We present the result of near-infrared (near-IR) imaging polarimetry of star-forming regions in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). We compiled near-IR photometric and polarimetric data of N159/160 regions. The photometric and polarimetric data were simultaneously obtained in J, H, and Ks bands using SIRPOL, an imaging polarimeter of the InfraRed Survey Facility (IRSF), in 2007 February. We measured Stokes parameters of point-like sources to derive their degree of polarization and polarization position angles. In this poster, we present polarization properties of these star-forming regions. We also discuss the polarization structure in these regions compared with mid-infrared dust emission structure from the Spitzer SAGE survey.

A NEW HASH FUNCTION-SMD(STRENCGTHEND MESSAGE DIGEST) AND ITS APPLICATION TO MAC

  • We propose a new hash function-SMD(Strengthened Mes-sage Digest) based on the design principle of dedicated hash functions. It processes an arbitrary finite message by 512-bit block and outputs 160 bits digest and has data-dependent rotation characteristic which guar-anteens the strength against existing known attacks. Moreover we also propose a new keyed MAC(Message Authentication Code) constructed by using the proposed hash function. The proposed MAC uses a max-imum keys of 160 bits and hs an output-length less than equal to the hash result. From the viewpoint of performance the proposed MAC is only reduced about 10% comparing to the underlying hash function.

  • 본 논문에서는 90W/sub avg/급 디지털 TV 중계기에 사용되는 140W/sub avg/급 전력증폭기를 설계 및 구현하였다. 중계기 규격의 기반이 되는 미국 FCC(Federal Communications Commission) 의 규격과 KBS(한국방송공사)가 제시하는 사양에 적합한 전력증폭기의 설계 및 구현을 목표로 하였다. 전력증폭기는 4단으로 구성하였으며, 전치증폭기는 A 급, 구동증폭기와 종단증폭기는 AB 급으로 동작시켰다. 구동증폭기에서는 3W/sub avg/의 출력을 얻었으며, 3 개의 전력증폭용 모듈이 병렬 연결된 종단증폭기에서는 140W/sub avg/ 의 출력을 얻을 수 있었다. 사용주파수의 대역을 넓히고 입력 및 출력의 VSWR 을 개선시키기 위하여 발룬과 sage wireline coupler 를 이용하여 전력증폭용 모듈을 설계하였다. 모든 전력증폭용 모듈은 방송용 전력증폭기의 규격사양인 isolator 로 종단 처리하여, 종단 임피던스의 갑작스런 변화시에도 장비가 보호될 수 있도록 설계하였다.

  • Pile Bridge Abutments constructed on a soft base are affected by a lateral flow. Laterl flow pressure acting on Pile is very difficult to calculate because of, interation of ground and Pile. So, it is different to estimate displacement of Pile Bridge Abutments. This paper studied about possibility of the displacement estimation of Pile Bridge Abutments by using the equivalent sheet pile wall theory that was Randolph proposed in 1981. Analysis program through using the SAGE CRISP that is FEM program. Analysis data used Centrifuge test results of Springman(1991), Bransby(1997) and Ellis(1997)'s paper. In conclusion, maxium displacement that is carried out by centrifuge test and numerical analysis has occured at the head of pile, as well as Maximum displacement of pile is closely similar. But the moment acting on pile of numerical analysis is under estimated compare to the centrifuge test. Through the comparative study, it is found that displacement estimation by equivalent sheet pile wall is in relatively good agreement with the results of centrifuge test.

  • The inside wall of a coal gasifier is lined with refractory, and the corrosion of the refractory by coal sag is an important parameter affecting the refractory lifetime and the replacement period. This paper examines the changes in microstructure of a chromia refractory due to chemical reactions with penetrating slag as a function of slag composition. The effects of CaO and $Fe_2O_3$ concentrations were studied using Datong and KIDECO slag. Static corrosion experiments were carried out, the percent slag penetration and changes in the microstructure were determined by SEM/EDX analyses. FactSage equilibrium calculations were carried out to determine the equilibrium products and the predictions were compared with experimental observations.

  • GSM(Global System for Mobile Communications)은 현재 가장 광범위하게 사용되고 있는 디지털 이동 통신의 표준이다. 또한 GSM 표준에서 데이터 전송의 최종 evolution 버전인 EDGE(Enhanced Data for GSM Evolution)와 GSM Phase2+ 개발의 일부분인 GSM 망에서 packet switching을 구현하는 기술인 GPRS(General Packet Radio Service)가 현재 유럽의 정보통신 표준화 기구인 ETSI(European Telecommunications Standards Institute)에 의해 표준화가 진행 중에 있다. GSM 시스템은 사용자 데이터의 기밀성을 보장하기 위한 암호화 알고리즘 A5를 사용하고 있지만 그 취약성이 계속 보고되고 있다. $^{[10,11]}$ 따라서 GSM의 강화된 암호화 알고리즘과 EDGE와 GPRS에서 사용자 데이터를 보호하기 위한 새로운 암호화 알고리즘의 개발이 요구되어왔다. 최근 ETSI의 SAGE(Security Algorithms Group of Experts)는 이러한 목적을 달성할 수 있는 새로운 표준 암호화 알고리즘 A5/3과 GEA3을 개발하였다. $^{[3,4,5,6]}$본 고에서는 GSM, EDGE, GPRS에서의 새로운 표준 암호화 알고리즘 A5/3과 GEA3을 분석하여 정리하고자 한다.

Data Center Remote Management Service for Demanding Forecasting and Reduction of Energy U sage (에너지 수요예측 및 절감을 위한 데이터 센터 원격 관리 서비스)

  • This paper is concerned with data center remote management service for demanding forecasting and reduction of energy usage. More particularly, intelligent server rack, mounted on inside of the data center, collects information about energy usage and temperature per server. Using this information, management platform forecasts energy demand in the future and automatically makes report according green environment raw. By providing the remote management service through remote terminals, users are not tied to a time and place to control device inside the data center. In this way, the data center remote management service enhances operability of the facility.

The Effect of Aroma Inhalation Method on Stress Responses of Nursing Students (향기 흡입법이 간호대학생의 스트레스 반응에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of aroma inhalation on stress responses (physical symptoms, levels of anxiety, perceived stresses)of nursing students. Method: This study was a quasi-experimental research using anon-equivalent pre-post design and was conducted from June 1 to June 5, 2002. The subjects consisted of 77 junior nursing students who were divided into 39 experimental group members and 38 control group members. A pretest and Post-test were conducted to measure body symptoms, the level of anxiety, and the level of perceived stress. In the experimental group, aromas were given using an aroma lamp, lavender, peppermint, rosemary and Clary-Sage. In the control group, the treatment was not administered. Result: As a result of administering aroma inhalation to nursing students, their physical symptoms decreased, their anxiety scores were low, and their perceived stress scores were low, showing that aroma inhalation could be a very effective stress management method. Conclusion: Nursing educators should play an important role in contributing to college students' physical and psychological health by helping enhance their recognition of stress management and effectively relieving their stress using essential oils.

A study on the development of the simulation software for the fire evacuation (화재 대피 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In case of fire in the buildings, the appropriate and safe evacuation plans for the building residents are very important to minimize the number of casualties. Since the evacuation time usually depends on the stairs and passages of design of the building, the evacuation plans should be considered while the architectural design is done. Conventionally, the calculation of the evacuation time in the case of fire breakout is based on the approximate mathematical equations which are prone to error. In this study, the simulation software is developed to help the architectural designers to access the more accurate evacuation time and find out the floor plans which offers the most sage evacuation plans for the residents in case of fire.

An Empirical Study for the Safe and Effective Operations in Membrane LNG Ships focused on the Tank Cool Down

  • The most crucial factor in membrane LNG ships to ensure sage operations, is how to effectively control tank pressure at the time of excessive generation of boil off gas (BOG). When the ships carry out tank cool down with her retaining heel prior to arrival at loading port, the vessel encounters the critical situation of excessive BOG and high tank pressure that can lead to high degree of risk. This is to provide one of the best ways to secure safe and effective LNG ship operations focusing on the detailed methods of tank cool down to achieve ATR(Arrival Temperature requirement) without building up high tank pressure and excessive BOG and calculating the appropriate heel quantity to be unutilized for tank cool down and fuel during ballast voyage.
