A Concise Design for the Irradiation of U-10Zr Metallic Fuel at a Very Low Burnup

  • In order to investigate the swelling behavior and fuel-cladding interaction mechanism of U-10Zr alloy metallic fuel at very low burnup, an irradiation experiment was concisely designed and conducted on the China Mianyang Research Reactor. Two types of irradiation samples were designed for studying free swelling without restraint and the fuel-cladding interaction mechanism. A new bonding material, namely, pure aluminum powder, was used to fill the gap between the fuel slug and sample shell for reducing thermal resistance and allowing the expansion of the fuel slug. In this paper, the concise irradiation rig design is introduced, and the neutronic and thermal-hydraulic analyses, which were carried out mainly using MCNP (Monte Carlo N-Particle) and FLUENT codes, are presented. Out-of-pile tests were conducted prior to irradiation to verify the manufacturing quality and hydraulic performance of the rig. Nondestructive postirradiation examinations using cold neutron radiography technology were conducted to check fuel cladding integrity and swelling behavior. The results of the preliminary examinations confirmed the safety and effectiveness of the design.

스포츠조종사 자격증명의 국내 적용에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Legal Application for Sport Pilot Certificate in Korea)

  • In september 2004, a new pilot certificate scheme referred to as Sport Pilot Certificate was declared official and standardized in the US. The designation of Light-sport aircraft and the details of the relevant pilot certificate policy was announced out of the perception that a new regulation is required to be applied whereby the limitations on the manufacturing process enhancements and current aviation rules are considered the triggering factors. US Federal Aviation Regulation retains a comprehensive range of airworthiness certificates and aircrafts are managed systematically in accordance with FAR 21, 103. The airworthiness are further segregated into sub categories, which allows differentiated management. Korean Aviation Law classify aircraft into five different categories and powered air vehicle that weighs more than 150kg(19liters fuel capacity) for one seat, 225kg for two seats(38liters fuel capacity) while the systems that fall under a specific mass threshold level are known as ultralight vehicle. The research discusses the policy of the sport pilot certificate and the light-sport aircraft ratings announced official by the Federal Aviation Administration in an intuitive fashion with the analysis of the operations providing the evidence as to the viability of adopting the policy in local grounds. Based on the findings, the report discusses the case for introducing the light-sport aircraft and make recommendation on a strategy of applying the policy in Korea with respect to the pilot certificates, safety agenda, and the written test for the pilot certificate, and operating efficiency.

  • 인터넷 뱅킹 서비스는 기존의 오프라인 서비스에 비해 편리성을 제공하지만, 해킹 등에 보안에 대한 많은 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이에 대해 금융기관은 보안을 강화하기 위해서 공인인증서, 보안토큰, 보안카드 OTP와 같은 인증 방법들을 제공하여 취약점을 보완토록 하였지만, 해킹 사건이 끊이지 않고 발생하고 있다. 특히 기존 인증방법들은 메모리해킹이나 중간자 공격과 같은 해킹에 대해서 취약점이 제기되고 있어, 새로운 인증방법이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 인터넷 뱅킹에서 전자금융거래를 할 때 사용자의 PC와 Mobile 기기에서 이중으로 인증을 받는 Two Channel 인증 방식을 제안하고, 기존의 방식들과 비교분석을 통하여 안전성 및 신뢰성 측면이 강화되는 것은 확인할 수 있다.

사고 선박의 예인력 계산 및 실험에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Calculation of Towing Force for the Disabled Ship and Its Experiments)

  • 본 논문에서는 선박의 예인에 필요한 예인력의 계산과 이를 검증하기 위한 실험 결과에 대해 언급하고 있다. 먼저 예인력의 계산에 있어서는 선박의 마찰저항, 풍압저항, 조파저항을 고려하였다. 아울러 프로펠러가 고착된 상태를 가정하여 프로펠러 저항을 계산하였다. 이와 더불어 예인 시 사용되는 예인삭에 걸리는 부가저항을 노드분석법을 적용하여 계산하였고, 선체 저항과 예인삭에서의 부가저항을 합하여 최종적인 예인저항을 도출하였다. 계산된 결과값의 유효성을 검증하기 위하여 목포해양대학교 실습선 새유달호를 활용하여 해상에서 예인실험을 수행하였고 이론적인 계산 결과와 실험 결과에 대한 비교를 행하였다. 소요 예인력의 이론적인 계산에서 주요한 요소는 예인속력임을 알 수 있었고, 예인속력의 증가에 따라 프로펠러 고착 저항이 저항의 주요한 부분을 차지하는 것을 확인하였다. 실제 실험을 통해서는 선박의 요잉에 의한 저항 증가분을 고려하는 것이 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

VTS에서 AIS데이터를 활용한 정박선의 선회중심 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Estimation of Center of Turning Circle of Anchoring Vessel using Automatic Identification System Data in VTS)

  • 정박중인 선박의 안전을 위하여 항해사, 선장 및 해상교통관제사는 항상 선박이 주묘되고 있는가를 확인하여야 한다. 정박선의 주묘판별을 위하여 VTS 관제사가 선회권과 그 중심을 인지하는 것이 중요하다. VTS에서 정박선 주묘여부 감시는 레이더 및 AIS를 이용할 수 있다. 또한 이용가능하다면, CCTV 영상이나 육안에 의한 관측도 이루어 질 수 있다. 그러나 VTS 시스템은 AIS 및 ARPA Radar로부터 수집된 데이터만으로 정박선을 모니터링하고 있으므로 정박지내에서 정박선의 선회중심을 알기가 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 VTS에서 AIS에 의해 수집된 정박 선박의 선수방위각과 위치데이터를 활용하여 선회중심을 추정하는 알고리즘을 제시하고자 한다. 알고리즘의 유효성을 확인하기 위해, 실 환경에서 정박한 선박에 대한 실험연구를 수행하였다.

상용승용차 시트프레임 부품의 중량 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Weight Optimization for the Passenger Car Seat Frame Part)

  • Car seat is one the most important element to make comfortable drivability. It can absorb the impact or vibration during driving state. In addition to those factors, it is needed to have enough strength for passenger safety. From energy efficiency and environmental point of view lighter passenger car seat frame becomes hot issue in the auto industry. In this paper, weight optimization methodology is investigated for commercial car seat frame using CAE. Optimized designs for seat frame are developed using commercially available finite element code(ANSYS) and design of experiment method. At first, car seat frame is modelled using 3-D computer aided design tool(CATIA) and simplified for finite element modelling. Finite element analysis is carried out for the case of FMVSS 202 Head Restraint test to check the strength of the original seat frame. Two base brackets are selected as optimized elements that are the heaviest parts in the seat frame. After finite element analysis for the brackets with similar load condition to the previous test optimization technique is applied for 10% to 50% weight reduction. Design of experiment is utilized to obtain optimization design for the bracket based on the modified 50% weight reduction model in which outer shape of the bracket is conserved. Weight optimization models result in the decrease of the strength in spite of weight reduction. The more design points should be considered to get better optimized model. The more advanced optimization technique may be utilized for more parts of the seat frame to increase whole seat frame characteristics in the future.

AF궤도회로의 전기적 구분 장치 설치이전에 따른 커패시터 보상으로 LC공진 주파수 대역의 전압특성 분석 (An Analysis of Voltage Characteristics for LC Resonant Frequency Band of Capacitor Compensation According to Moving of Electrical Separation Equipment of AF Track Circuit)

  • This paper analyzes the electrical characteristic such as the impedance(Z), inductance(L), and cable resistance($R_p$) according to the change of cable length in order to move the electrical sorting device for distinguishing between AF non-insulated track circuits from the center of railway to outside railway. The simulation is performed to check the voltage difference between the voltage of sender and the voltage of receiver and determine the possibility of the voltage restoration availability in the frequency filter band through the capacitor compensation. It was applied to the results of the simulation to the sorting devices installed in the actual field. It is proved the availability by checking the measured voltage characteristic according to the capacitor compensating change of $10{\mu}F$ and $16{\mu}F$ before, and after the length of cable is increased with 6 meters. Through this, the prevention of breakdown and damage to facilities and the prevention the safety-related accidents of line workers from the train are expected according to moving the sorting devices of AR non-insulated track circuits to outside railway.

우리나라 유기농 채소내 질산염 함량의 경시적 추이 (Nitrate Contents in Vegetables Cultivated by Organic Farming in Korea)

  • After the release of facts that the high nitrate contents in vegetables by Korean organic farming, organic farmers were recommended by Korean Organic Farmer Association to apply 20t/ha compost while they applied before as much as they could, sometimes even more than 100t/ha. This study was aimed to check the safety of Korean organic product in terms of nitrate content. Current nitrate content in leaf and root vegetables by 3 different farming systems(organic farming, conventional farming, greenhouse farming) were monitored and furthermore it was compared with previously published another data in Korea to find out any changes among the monitored years(1993-1999). Current nitrate content in chinese cabbage, lettuce and kale became less compare to those of the beginning of monitoring, and especially those cultivated organic farming got the lowest value while previous organic vegetables at beginning of 90's showed the higher value than those cultivated in greenhouse. This decrease in organic vegetables was affected by less application rate of organic fertilizer than before at 20t/ha. But the nitrate level by organic farming was still higher compare to those cultivated by conventional farming in open field, since currently monitored organic vegetables were cultivated basically in greenhouse condition. It shows the organic farmer the necessity of transfer their farming site and condition from greenhouse to open field in order to decrease of its high level of nitrate caused long-term application and slow release characteristics of organic fertilizer. It was concluded the adoption of soil nitrate test to recommend a organic farmer the exact application rate for need of crop growth. Additionally the mechanism of lower nitrate accumulation in rice and fruit vegetables were also discussed in the paper.

어선의 업종에 따른 해양사고의 특징과 예방 대책 (The main factor and counterplan for marine casualties of fishing vessel according to the type of fishing job in Korea)

  • Marine casualties originated from fishing vessel occupied about 70% of the whole marine casualties in Korea from 2001 to 2010, this ratio was not much changed as it was before. Therefore a pragmatic counterplan to decrease of casualties in fishing vessel is indispensable for reduction of the nationwide marine casualties. But since the casualties occurred by fishing vessel may have a different causes and counterplan according to the operating type of it, in this paper, fishing vessels classified into 12 types by operating method and inspected the causes and counterplan for that. The operating type of fishing vessel occurred the specific casualties more were jig boat in collisions and fire explosion, trap fishing boat, mixed fishing boats and inshore gill netter in collisions, stow netter in machinery damages and capsizing, offshore gill netter in machinery damages, fish carrier in collisions. It must be emphasized that the higher ranked types of vessels, especially jig boat have to take special care to the approaching vessels under way, trap fishing boat to rear look out and mixed fishing boat must keep on safety speed and be taken an education for advance the skill of operating radar as well. For all 12 types of fishing vessel, it is necessary for an operator to make strict precaution on the other vessel under way systematically and keep the regulation for preventing collisions, and for an engineer on watch to make a check the electricity and the engines periodically for reduction the fire explosion and machinery damages.

Analysis of Urban Flood Damage Using SWMM5 and FLUMEN Model of Sadang Area in Korea

  • Frequent urban floods affect the human safety and economic properties due to a lack of the capacity of drainage system and the increased frequency of torrential rainfall. The drainage system has played an important role in flooding control, so it is necessary to establish the effective countermeasures considering the connection between drainage system and surface flow. To consider the connection, we selected SWMM5 model for analyzing transportation capacity of drainage system and FLUMEN model for calculating inundation depth and time variation of inundation area. First, Thiessen method is used to delineate the sub-catchments effectively base on drainage network data in SWMM5. Then, the output data of SWMM5, hydrograph of each manhole, were used to simulate FLUMEN to obtain inundation depth and time variation of inundation area. The proposed method is applied to Sadang area for the event occurred in $27^{th}$ of July, 2011. A total of 11 manholes, we could check the overflow from the manholes during that event as a result of the SWMM5 simulation. After that, FLUMEN was utilized to simulate overland flow using the overflow discharge to calculate inundation depth and area on ground surface. The simulated results showed reasonable agreements with observed data. Through the simulations, we confirmed that the main reason of the inundation was the insufficient transportation capacities of drainage system. Therefore cooperation of both models can be used for not only estimating inundation damages in urban areas but also for providing the theoretical supports of the urban network reconstruction. As a future works, it is recommended to decide optimized pipe diameters for efficient urban inundation simulations.
