The objective of this study is to present a resistance performance map developed using the dimension parameters of a bilge keel appendage attached to a fishing vessel using CFD. The dimension parameters consist of three length and breadth measures of a bilge keel appendage from nine selected cases. The size of a bilge keel attached to an existing ship should be 90 % of the ship length and 5 % of the ship breadth. In this study, bilge keels with a length of 63 %, 77 % and 90 % and a breadth of 5 %, 7 % and 9 % were considered based on ship length and breadth. The effective power in each of the nine cases was predicted using CFD. Based on results from an existing ship, effective power in the case with the shortest length and longest breath was reduced by 0.3 %. The case with the longest length and breadth showed an increase in effective power of 1.7 %. The case with the shortest length and breadth showed a decrease in effective power of 2.3 %. The proposed map can be utilized to select dimensions according to the sailing and work patterns of fishing vessels from the perspective of resistance performance.

Fire stations should be located in optimal location to act quickly in case of emergency and minimize damages as a public facility that protects life and property of local residents. Siting fire stations without regard for the accessibility and occurrence factors of an accident may provide fire service unequally. Therefore service analysis is necessary to reduce the blind spot of disaster and safety and to offer equal fire-service at this time. Especially fire stations can service more efficiently than before by reducing a more likely vulnerable area. This study suggests methods of mapping index of value that represents vulnerability of the occurrence of an accident and extracting service zone map of fire stations, as an initial research for offering efficient fire service. Geographical distribution mismatch between service zone map and vulnerability map is figured out and vulnerable area for fire service is defined by using map overlay method.

Wi-Fi based vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication is an emerging solution to improve the safety, traffic efficiency, and comfort of passengers. However, due to the high mobility of vehicles and the limited coverage of Wi-Fi APs, the V2I system may suffer from frequent handoffs although roadside APs can support cost effective Internet connectivity. Such problem of V2I systems can be overcome with Mobile AP (MAP) platform. The MAPs yield longer service duration by moving along with vehicles, yet they provide a lower link capacities than the roadside APs. In this paper, we propose a new association control mechanism that effectively determines whether the vehicle will select a fixed roadside-AP or a nearby MAP in mobile vehicular network environments. We consider both the achievable link bandwidth and available connection duration as a selection criterion and provide their run-time estimation method. Extensive simulation using real traces show significant performance improvements.

In this study, we investigated the applicable plan of GIS on the environmental impact assessment of 60 Hz Powerline. So we assessed distance data based on calculations by use of 2D and 3D Geographical information systems(GIS) and distance data based on measurements on 1: 5000 maps accord with on site distance measurements to use input data for calculating magnetic field. One hundred eight of the on site measured addresses were selected from residences. The data were achieved by measuring the distance between residence and power line on maps with scales of 1: 5000. The digital map was obtained from National Geographic Information Institute with scales of 1: 5000, and we made 2D and 3D map. Correlation analyses were performed for statistical analyses. For the 3D GIS versus on site comparison of different exposure categories, 70 of 108 measurements were assigned to the correct category. Similarly for 2D GIS versus on site comparison, 71 of 108 were correctly categorized. When comparing map measurement with on site measurement, 62 of 108 were correctly categorized. When the correlation analysis was performed, best correlation was found between 3D GIS and on site measurements with r = 0.84947 (p<0.0001). The correlation between map and on site measurement yielded an r of 0.76517 (p<0.0001). Since the GIS measurements and map measurement were made from the center point in the building and the on site measurements had to be made from the closest wall on the building, this might introduce and additional error in urban areas. The difference between 2D and 3D calculations were resulted from the height of buildings.

As the development of the underground space becomes active, safety accidents related to the underground are frequently occurring in recent years. In this regard, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is enforcing the 『Special Act on Underground Safety Management』 (enforced on January 1, 2018, hereafter referred to as the Underground Safety Act). Among the core contents of the Underground Safety Act, underground facilities(water supply, sewage, gas, power, communication, heating) buried underground, underground structures(subway, underpass, underpass, underground parking lot, underground shopping mall, common area), ground (Drilling, wells, geology) of 15 types of underground information can be checked at a glance on a three-dimensional basis by constructing an integrated underground spatial map and using it. The purpose of this study is to develop a program that can quickly inspect the three-dimensional model after creating a three-dimensional underground structure data among the underground spatial integration maps. To this end, we first investigated and reviewed the domestic and foreign status of technology that generates and automatically inspects 3D underground structure data. A quality inspection program was developed. Through this study, it is judged that it will be meaningful as a basic research for improving the quality of underground structures on the integrated map of underground space by automating more than 98% of the 3D model inspection process, which is currently being conducted manually.

This paper proposes the qualitative method for planning the operation of multi-AUVs with environmental disturbances, which is considered to be a very difficult task. In this paper we use an extension collision map as a collision free motion planner. The tool was originally developed for the multiple ground vehicles with no internal/external disturbance. In order to apply the method to a water environment where there are tides and waves, and currents, we analyze the path deviation error of AUVs caused by external disturbances. And we calculate safety margin for the collision avoidance on the extension collision map. Finally, the simulation result proves that the suggested method in this paper make multi-AUVs navigate to the goal point effectively with no collision among them.

Safety and security during the handling of hazardous materials is a great concern for anyone in the field. One driving point in the security field is the ability to detect the source of the danger and take action against it as quickly as possible. Via the usage of a fully convolutional network, it is possible to create the label map of an input image, indicating what object is occupying the specific area of the image. This research employs the usage of U-net, which was constructed in biomedical field segmentation to segment cells, instead of the original FCN. One of the challenges that this research faces is the availability of ground truth with precise labeling for the dataset. Testing the network after training resulted in some images where the network pronounces even better detail than the expected label map. With better detailed label map, the network might be able to produce better segmentation is something to be studied in further research.

Multi water-loop system is the efficient customer centered facilities of water supply by utilizing the multi water resources. Multi water-loop system is divided into various types. The system is classified potable and non-potable type. Mostly, the potable type utilizes surface water and ground water. However, the non-potable type utilize the multi water resources, such as rain water, sea water, reclaimed water, etc. Selective intake is possible when characteristics of region, physiographic condition and purpose of use are considered. For instance, downtown type, new-city type, agriculture type, island type are available. For development and application of these multi water-loop system, standardization is needed. For standardization, several methods are given; design principles, selection and composition method of multi water-loop system structure, BIM/GIS application method, safety inspection method. Consequently, a road map of design standardization method can be established. In this road map, there are three parts for the standardization of multi water-loop system. Three parts are the considerations, base material and ways of standardization. Design standardization become close when this road map followed by someone who plan the multi water-loop system. In this way, loop system's development is more efficient and economic. In hereafter research, each type's characteristic will be analysed and standardization methods can be established.

In this paper, we propose a novel approach to decentralized motion planning and conflict-resolution for multiple mobile agents working in an environment with unexpected moving obstacles. Our proposed motion planner has two characteristics. One is a real-time collision prognosis based on modified collision map. Collision map is a famous centralized motion planner with low computation load, and the collision prognosis hands over these characteristics. And the collision prognosis is based on current robots status, maximum robot speeds, maximum robot accelerations, and path information produced from off-line path planning procedure, so it is applicable to motion planner for multiple agents in a dynamic environment. The other characteristic is that motion controller architecture is based on potential field method, which is capable of integrating robot guidance to the goals with collision avoidance. For the architecture, we define virtual obstacles making delay time for collision avoidance from the real-time collision prognosis. Finally the results obtained from realistic simulation of a multi-robot environment with unknown moving obstacles demonstrate safety and efficiency of the proposed method.

In the last years a low-altitude image acquisition technology has been developed in application of frequent change monitoring in urban area md speedy surveillance in disaster area. A low-altitude photogrammetric system have advantages of accurate observation and free data-acquisition time. Especially, an unmaned RC-helicopter, improving safety, durability and portability, comes into the spotlight as a built-in vehicle in close range photogrammetric application due to their capability of safe near-by observation and effective flight performance. This paper gives a methodology for generating image map by development of low cost and timesaving low-altitude photogrammetric UAV(unmaned aerial vehicles) for collecting high-resolution image data, and implement of geo-rectification and image mosaicking.
