  • As long term evolution (LTE) is the most widely deployed broadband communication technology so far, efforts are being made to develop LTE-based mission critical public safety (PS) communication systems. In this paper, we propose a device-to-device (D2D) discovery-based radio resource acquisition scheme to support the LTE D2D communication to PS systems and the realization of resource forwarding for user equipments in emergency area.

  • Announcement protocol in Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is an intelligent application to enhance public safety, alleviate traffic jams and improve transportation quality. It requires communication between vehicles, roadside units and pedestrian to disseminate safety-related messages. However, as vehicles connected to internet, it makes them accessible globally to a potential adversary. Safety-related application requires a message to be reliable, however it may intrude the privacy of a vehicle. Contrarily, if some misbehaviour emerges, the malicious vehicles must be able to traceable and revoke from the network. This is a contradiction between privacy and accountability since the privacy of a user should be preserved. For a secure communication among intelligent entities, we propose a novel announcement protocol in IoV using group signature. To the best of our knowledge, our work is the first comprehensive construction of an announcement protocol in IoV that deploys group signature. We show that our protocol efficiently solves these conflicting security requirements of message reliability, privacy and accountability using 5G communication channel. The performance analysis and simulation results signify our work achieves performance efficiency in IoV communication.

  • Recently, the use of electric and electronic control systems is increasing in the automobile industry. This increase in the electric and electronic control system greatly increases the complexity of designing a vehicle, which leads to an increase in the malfunction of the system, and a safety problem due to the malfunction is becoming an issue. Based on IEC 61508 relating to the functional safety of electrical/electronic/programmable electronics, the ISO 26262 standard specific to the automotive sector was first established in 2011, and a revision was published in 2018. Malfunctions due to system failure are covered by ISO 26262, but ISO/PAS 21448 is proposed to deal with unintended malfunctions caused by changes in the surrounding environment. ISO 26262 sets out safety-related requirements for the entire life cycle. Functional safety analysis includes FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), and HAZOP (Hazard and Operability). These analysis have limitations in dealing with failures or errors caused by complex interrelationships because it is assumed that a failure or error affecting the risk occurs by a specific component. In order to overcome this limitation, it is necessary to apply the STPA (System Theoretic Process Analysis) technique.

  • The planar microstrip antenna for the safety communication of life at sea is designed and manufactured to effectively receive the emergency wireless signal from the transmitter on the life vest. The proposed microstrip antenna in this paper is easy to make, light weight and cheap compared to other antennas because of printed antenna fabrication. To overcome the narrow bandwidth, large size and low gain characteristics of microstrip antenna, we use the IDMA(Identical Dual Patch Microstrip Antenna with Air-Gap) structure. The proposed antenna was fabricated with the use of 1.6mm FR4 and measured with the 28.7MHz(6.6%) of bandwidth and 3.04dBi of gain at the frequency of 426MHz. To validate the proposed antenna, we experimented the possible distance range at sea using the commercial UHF transceiver module and obtained over 5km distance for stable communication. This antenna can be widely applied to application of the UHF wireless mobile communication.

  • Based on the development of mobile communication, the future mobile communication systems are expected to provide higher quality of multimedia services for users than today\`s systems. Therefore, many technical factors are needed in this systems. Especially the secrecy and the safety would be obtained through the introduction of the security for mobile communication. In this paper, we presents a digital nominative proxy signature scheme that processes a user\`s digital signature and encryption using the proxy-agent who has more computational power than origins in mobile communication. The proposed scheme provides non-repudiation and prevents creating illegal signature by the origin and proxy-agent in a phase of proxy signature processing. Also this scheme satisfies the confidentiality and safety in the mobile communication through a confirming signature by the right receiver.

  • Secret communication has developed from analogue communication to digital one. Secret communication which is based on digital communication has been designed succeeding safety of one-time pad. One-time pad's safety is attributed to the security of secret key's mutual storage and mutual synchronization that is the key's interchange basis is one of the essential factors. This manuscript examines mathematical stability of BB84 algorithm which is one of the quantum cryptography system, and conducts transmission of quantum key. The created key suggests One-time Pad algorithm which interchanges ciphertext implemented AES's 64th round.

  • In accordance with the computerization of railway signaling systems, the interface link between the signaling systems has been replaced by a digital communication channel. At the same time, the importance of the communication link has become increasingly significant. However, there are some questionable matters in the current state of railway signaling systems in KNR. First, different communication protocols have been applied to create an interface between railway signaling systems although the protocols have the same functions. Next, the communication protocols currently used in the railway fields have some illogical parts such as structure, byte formation, error correction scheme, and so on. To solve these matters, the standard communication protocol for railway signaling systems is designed. The newly designed protocol is overviews in this paper. And the simulation is performed to analysis the performance of data link control for designed protocol. According to this simulation, it is identified that the link throughput of new protocol is improved about 10% and the frame error rate is improved than existing protocol. And it is verified the safety and liveness properties of designed protocol by using a formal method for specifying the designed protocol. It is expected that there will be an increase in safety, reliability and efficiency in terms of the maintenance of the signaling systems by using the designed communication protocol for railway signaling.

  • The distress communication system in the maritime mobile service had almost depended on the wireless telephony or telegraphy technique. The GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) which was introduced in 1992 brought a lot of changes in the maritime distress communication service such as the automatic transmission of distress signals and implementation of global search and rescue networks. However, there are some deficiencies in the GMDSS distress communication system such as a lack of compatibility in the maritime distress communication between GMDSS ships and Non-GMDSS ships, increasing deceptive or false distress alerts generated by GMDSS installations, lack of understanding about the GMDSS installations for the operators. In this paper, the problems of distress communication system in the maritime mobile service are analyzed and the methods to solve or minimize these problems are suggested.

  • The flight deck crew must manage complexity during daily flight operations. The Airline may obtain data regarding threats and errors through LOSA(Line Operations Safety Audits) on normal flights as predictive safety tool in Safety Management System of the Airline to actively improve the systems such as SOP(Standard Operation Procedure), training, evaluation and the TEM(Threat and Error Management) for the flight deck crew. The flight deck crew make errors when they fail managing threats. The crew mismanage around ten percent of threats and commit errors. The major mismanaged threats are aircraft malfunction, ATC(Air Traffic Communication), and wether threats. The effective countermeasures of TEM for manageing threats are leadership, workload management, monitor & cross check, Vigilance, communication environment and cooperation of the crew. It is important that organizations must monitor for the hazards of threats and improve system for the safer TEM environments.

Accordingly, w are fully aware of the importance of the development of safety control System so that may prevent the sacrifice of life and disasters on the sea. The objective of this research in to investigate the more effective system by establishing the prevention of safety accident and marine information system as a national project.
