  • Purpose: The purposes of this study were to provide information about safe actions during the practice of dental technology, promote belief in safe actions among the students of dental technology, and reinforce their knowledge about how to act safety. Methods: Open questions were asked to 120 sophomores majoring dental technology to understand the target group's belief about safe actions. Following the instructions by Ajzen & Fishbein, the collected data were grouped according to similar beliefs. Those beliefs of the highest frequency were given a priority and got to represent the belief level of the target group. Even with belief changes, however, they would not be able to practice safe actions if they had no knowledge about how to do safe actions. For desirable behavioral changes among the students, the students were then asked to discuss the current state of safety accidents and issues focusing on the materials and processes used in the practice and give presentations regarding the subjects to identify risk factors. Then the identified risk factors were used to devise the program contents so that the students could practice safe actions through accurate behavioral approaches and belief changes by educating them about how to act safely by the practice processes and the involved materials and devices. Results: Not only do the students of Dept. of Dental Technicians have difficulties with the complex practice processes while practicing to make dental prosthesis, but they are exposed to the risk of accidents as they're poor at dealing with the materials and devices. Although there is a definite need for accident prevention education programs before practice, the reality is that the school doesn't the schoosuch education. Based on the judgment that an education program designed to reinforce belief for behavioral changes would generate effgrams results, an education program was developed by applying the Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB). Along with their beliefs, the current state of accidents n. Basepractice, demand for safety education, and practice level of safe actions were used to device the contents of accident prevention education and to develop an accident prevention education program for dental technology. Conclusion: The study presents an accident prevention education program developed to reinforce dental technology students' beliefs and knowledge and to help them do safe actions during practice.

판별분석을 활용한 주·야간 고속도로 교통사고 영향요인 비교연구 (Discriminant Analysis of Factors Affecting Traffic Accident Severity During Daytime and Nighttime)

  • PURPOSES : Low visibility caused by dark surroundings at nighttime affects the likelihood of accidents, and various efforts, such as installing road safety facilities, have been made to reduce accidents at night. Despite these efforts, the nighttime severity index (SI) in Korea was higher than the daytime SI during 2011-2014. This study determined the factors affecting daytime and nighttime accident severity through a discriminant analysis. METHODS : Discriminant analysis. RESULTS : First, drowsiness, lack of attention, and lighting facilities affected both daytime and nighttime accident severity. Accidents were found to be caused by a low ability to recognize the driving conditions and a low obstacle avoidance capability. Second, road conditions and speeding affected only the daytime accident severity. Third, failure to maintain a safe distance significantly affected daytime accident severity and nonsignificantly affected nighttime accident severity. The majority of such accidents were caused by rear-end collisions of vehicles driving in the same direction; given the low relative speed difference in such cases, the shock imparted by the accidents was minimal. CONCLUSIONS : Accidents caused by a failure to maintain a safe distance has lower severity than do accidents caused by other factors.

고속도로에서 차량 안전 통신을 위한 교통사고 위험 예측 알고리즘 (A Traffic Hazard Prediction Algorithm for Vehicle Safety Communications on a highway)

  • 차량 안전 통신은 교통사고 예방에 중요한 기술 중 하나이다. 이를 위해 교통사고가 발생하면 연쇄 추돌 사고를 예방하기 위한 안전 메시지를 전달하는 많은 프로토콜이 연구되었다. 이러한 프로토콜은 노드가 안전 메시지를 발생시키는 시점을 교통사고가 발생 했을 경우로 가정한다. 만약, 교통사고 위험을 예측하여 안전 메시지를 전달한다면 운전자는 빠른 대응 조치가 가능하다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 통신 기법을 이용한 교통사고 위험 예측 알고리즘을 제안한다. 결과적으로, 제안된 알고리즘을 기존 프로토콜에 적용한 결과 약 4~5 %의 더 높은 프레임 수신율을 보여주었다.

  • 이 논문에서는 제한수역에서 항행하는 대형선박들간의 안전항해를 위하여, 해난사고 방지에 필요한 선박들간의 적절한 안전속력 및 거리를 확보하기 위하여, 두 선박간의 속도비, 선장비, 횡방향 거리 및 종방향 거리를 변수로 하여 조종운동에 관한 시뮬레이션을 행하였다. 이상의 수치 계산 결과는 대형선박들이 왕래가 빈번한 폭주해역에서의 해상교통안전의 측면에서 볼 때 상당히 유용할 것이다.

Evaluation of radiological safety according to accident scenarios for commercialization of spent resin mixture treatment device

  • Spent resin often exceeds radiation limits for safe disposal, creating a need for commercial-scale treatment techniques to reduce resin radioactivity. In this study, the radiological safety of a commercialized spent resin treatment device with a treatment capacity of 1 ton/day was evaluated. The results confirm that the device is radiologically safe in the event of an accident. This device desorbs 14C from the spent resin, allowing disposal as low-level waste instead of intermediate-level waste. The device also reduces overall waste by recycling the extracted 14C. Potential accident scenarios were explored to enable dose assessments for both internal and external exposure while preventing further spillage of the device and processing the spilled resin. The scenarios involved the development of a surface fracture on the resin mixture separator and microwave systems, which were operated under pressure and temperature of 0-6 bar and 0-150 ℃, respectively. In the case of accidents with separator and microwave device, the maximum allowable working time of worker were derived, respectively, considering external and internal exposures. When wearing the respirator corresponding to APF 50, in the case of the microwave device accident scenario, the radiological safety was confirmed when the maximum worker worked within 132.1 h.

  • The level crossing collision accident which comprises more than 90 percent of all level crossing accidents is one of the most serious safety problems. There is a critical need for providing safe strategy and is focusing on the level crossing information rather than measures at a grade crossing. This study is intended to develop technology for accident prevention and damage reduction based on accident cases analysis result and improvement direction to complement shortcomings of safety equipment of conventional level crossing and to establish safety of travelers(train, motor vehicle, person).

근로 환경 변화를 고려한 산업재해지표 수정 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Modification of Industrial Accident Indicator Considering Working Environment Change)

  • 주5일제 실시, 인구 고령화 등으로 근로 환경이 과거에 비해 크게 바뀌었지만 빈도율, 강도율, Safe T-score와 같은 산업재해지수에는 반영되지 않고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 평균수명 증가, 근로 가능연령 상향, 근로시간 단축, 재해에 의한 사망자 평균 연령 변화 등의 시계열 동향을 파악하기 위해 통계자료를 활용하였다. 통계자료의 시계열 추이 분석 결과 인구 고령화로 인해 기대수명이 83.3세로 늘어났고, 법정 근로연령 또한 65세로 증가하였다. 그리고 2001년부터 주5일제 근로시간제가 도입되면서 연간 평균 근로시간은 2008.1시간으로 줄어들었다. 따라서 현재의 산업재해지표에서 사용되고 있는 기준과는 상당한 차이가 있었으며, 이러한 차이는 산업재해지표를 활용해 재해의 발생빈도와 산업재해로 인한 근로손실일수 등을 계산하고 그 추이를 파악하는데 큰 영향을 줄 것이라 판단된다.

Assessment of Safe Navigation Including the Effect of Ship-Ship Interaction in Restricted Waterways

  • This paper is mainly concerned with the assessment of safe navigation between ships moving each other in restricted waterways. The numerical simulation of manoeuvring motion was conducted parametrically to propose an appropriate safe speed and distance, which is required to avoid sea accident under the different conditions, such as ship-velocity ratios, ship-length ratios, separation and stagger between ships. As for the calculation parameters, the ratios of velocity difference between two ships were considered as 0.6, 1.2, 1.5 and the ones of ship-length difference were regarded were regarded as 0.5, 1.0, 1.18. From the inspection of this investigation, it indicates the following result. Firstly, the separation between ships is more needed for the small vessel, compared to the large vessel. Secondly, the lateral distance between ships is necessarily required for the velocity ration of 1.2, compared to the cases of 0.6 and 1.5. The manoeuvring characteristics based on this investigation will be very useful for keeping the safety of navigation from the practical point of ships design and traffic control in confined water.

액화석유가스 충전소의 안전거리에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Minimum Safe Separation Distance from LPG Filling Station)

  • 충전소에서 일어난 사고를 1987부터 1998년까지 사고자료를 근거로 하여 사고 시나리오와 사고발생 초기의 피해거리를 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 국내$\cdot$외 안전거리를 비교$\cdot$검토하여 적절한 안전거리에 대하여 살펴보았다. 안전거리는 시설과의 최소한 이격거리를 두어 사고 발생시 점화가능성을 줄이고 원활한 방재활동과 피해확산을 방지하기 위한 것으로서 가스누출시 제트화재의 길이 또는 누출가스의 연소하한농도의 도달거리와 관계가 있으며, 안전장치 설치현황, 안전관리자의 의식수준, 그리고 경제성을 검토하여 안전거리를 결정할 수 있도록 저장량에 따른 안전거리의 범위를 제시하였다.
