Background and Objective : Acne is very common skin disease encountered by dermatologists. But There is few reports on Acne treated with the Ko-Bang(古方) and the Sa-Am acupuncture. The study was designed to evaluate the effects of Acne patients by the Ko-Bang(古方) and the Sa-Am acupuncture. Methods : We conducted one patient with Acne seen at Won-Kwang University Ik-San Oriental Medical Hospital. We treated Acne by a herbal medicine, acupuncture, etc. Conclusions : We suggest that the oriental medical treatment and management have an effect with Acne which means Jwachang(挫瘡) in Oriental medicine.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of Sa-am acupuncture with Pericardium jung-gyuck (SA-acu-PC) and Triple Energizer jung-gyuck (SA-acu-TE) on the radial pulse in healthy human subjects. Methods: Sixty healthy subjects participated in this study and divided into three groups randomly: Control group(C), Pericardium jung-gyuck group(PC), Triple Energizer jung-gyuck group(TE). Radial pulse was measured by 3 dimensional pulse imaging system (DMP-3000) before, right after, 30 minutes after, and 60 minutes after acupuncture. Results: 1. The changes observed in periodic parameters are considered as the common effects of both SA-acu-TE and SA-acu-PC. SA-acu-TE was more effective than SA-acu-PC in these effects. 2. The effects of SA-acu-PC appeared in the pulse amplitude, pulse area, and pulse power volume mainly at the left chon position, and 3. The effects of SA-acu-TE appeared in the radial augmentation index and main peak angle mainly at the right gwan position. Conclusions: The effects of SA-acu-PC and SA-acu-TE can be observed in the radial pulse. The increases in pulse amplitude, pulse area, and pulse power volume at the left chon may imply the effects of SA-acu-PC. And the decrease in the pulse power volume, the increases in radial augmentation index and main peak angle may imply the effects of SA-acu-TE.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to find parameters to compare the effects of Sa-Am acupuncture with stomach-tonification (ST) and Sa-Am acupuncture with spleen-tonification (SP) on radial pulse. Methods : Forty healthy subjects participated in this study. Radial pulse was measured using 3 dimensional pulse imaging system (DMP-3000) before, right after, 30 minutes after, and 60 minutes after acupuncture. Results : 1. The parameters analysed in this study were changed in the same direction with different degrees by ST and SP. 2. In males, SP manipulation showed significantly increased pulse period and (T-T4)/T, and significantly decreased T1/T, T4/T, T4/(T-T4), and F1~F3 frequencies compared to ST. 3. In females, ST manipulation showed significantly increased (T-T4)/T, and significantly decreased F1~F3 frequencies compared to SP. Conclusions : The parameters analysed in this study may be used to differentiate the effects between ST and SP on radial pulse. These parameters are more strongly affected by SP than ST in males whereas more strongly affected by ST than SP in females.

This study aims to report a case of oculomotor nerve palsy with mydriasis improved by Sa-Am acupuncture (大腸正格). The patient visited our clinic due to Right oculomotor nerve palsy with symptoms such as periocular pain, diplopia, vertigo, ptosis, eye adduction disorder, and mydriasis on November 11th, 2019. For the treatment, Sa-Am acupuncture (大腸正格) which used to give a significant effect on eye diseases and headaches and to remove toxins from the body was performed every time the patient visited the clinic. About a month after the treatment, ptosis disappeared, and eye adduction disorder also changed from -2 to 2 points, showing a significant improvement. Subjective symptoms such as vertigo, diplopia, and eye pain also significantly decreased from 13 to 4 points. At the second month of treatment, the eye adduction disorder improved to a normal level, and subjective ocular discomforts disappeared. The pupil size decreased from 5 mm to 2.5 mm. After 3-4 months from the start of treatment, most of the symptoms including the light reflex returned to normal. After a total of 32 acupunctures treatment, subjective symptoms such as periocular pain, diplopia and vertigo, as well as ptosis and eye adduction disorder disappeared, and the pupil size, including the light reflex, also improved to the normal level.

Tic disorder show purposeless, repeated, unexpected, involuntary behavior and voice, can be divided into motor, vocal tic. this is about a patient who suffered from motor tic, tachycardia and other symptoms. We treated him with Sa-am acupuncture and other oriental medicine from the viewpoint of weak of kidney power. involuntary movement was estimated by doctor with Yale Global Tic Severity Scale(YGTSS). The patient's motor tic, tachycardia and other symptoms were improved and YGTSS also decresed.

Objective : The Purpose of this Study is to Evaluate Clinical Effect of Oriental Medical Treatment Clinically for the HNP by Comparing the Improvement of VAS and Meridian MAX Score Gap between Common Acupuncture with Sa-am Acupuncture Treatment Group and Common Acupuncture Treatment Group. Methods : The 29 patients who had a Diagnosis of HNP by Lumbar CT and MRI, and were Observed from the first June 2000 to the tenth May 2001, were divided into two classes ; the "A"group was 14 cases practised with Acupuncture treatment used Sa-am Acupuncture with Common Acupuncture, the "B" group 15 cases only Common Acupuncture. Then the time of Discharge, The authors compared VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) and Meridian Max score Gap out of these two groups. Results : On the result of the VAS(Visual Analog Scale), Group "A" is $4.14{\pm}2.62$ and Group "B" us $2.27{\pm}1.94$. So Group "A" is thought to be significance.(Independent T-test, P=0.0399). On the result of the Meridian Max Score Gap, Group "A" is $2.13{\pm}7.29$ and Group "B" is $1.43{\pm}8.42$. So Group "A" proceed more excellent result than the Group "B" Conclusions : The Group with Sa-am Acupuncture and Common Acupuncture treatment is more effective than the Group With Common Acupuncture treatment. And the Group of Done Cox is more effective than the Group of None.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to find the effects of Sa-Am lung tonifying acupuncture on radial pulse through the parameters difference. Methods : Forty healthy subjects participated in this study, acupuncture group and control group were divided. Compared various parameters of radial pulse between two groups, and the significantly changed 16 parameters ware measured using 3 dimensional pulse imaging system(DMP-3000) before, right after, 30 minutes after, and 60 minutes after acupuncture at Chon, Gwan, Cheok in acupucture group. Results : After lung tonifying acupuncture, radial pulse 16 parameters were showed changes significantly according to the time at each measuring location. 1. Heart rate, T2/T, T5, T5/T and W/T significantly decreased, W significantly increased. 2. Modulus of elasticity significantly decreased in left Cheok. 3. Amplitude of H4 significantly increased in left Gwan and right Cheok. 4. AIx, AIxHR significantly decreased in left Gwan and significantly increased in right Chon. 5. Area of pulse, area of W significantly increased in right Cheok. 6. Pulse energy, energy/min, EIx significantly decreased in left Cheok. 7. Maximum variation time of each parameter is showed different according to the parameter. Conclusions : Lung tonifying acupuncture exerts an influence on radial purse parameters. Further radial pulse change study on various acupuncture treatment is required.

Objective : These case study were made to evaluate and observe the treatment for the Herpes-Zoster through the korean oriental medicine. Method : Clinical observation and analysis about 4 cases of Herpes-zoster including the Ramsay's-hunt syndrome had been done the patients of the Sang-Ji Oriental Medicine Hospital. These cases were mainly treated with oriental medicine using the Herb medication, Korean Bee-Venom therapy, Acupuncture and Electro-acupuncture therapy. Acupuncture technic was mainly used Sa-Am acupuncture(Four needle technique). Result : After treatment, all of cases were completely cured without any complication. Conclusion : Based on the clinical results, Korean Oriental Medicine is believed to be effective for treating Herpes-zoster, and further studies should be conducted to provide more valuable information.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report that acupuncture of Damjeonggyeok(tonifying GB in Sa-Am acupucture) can be effective on chronic insomnia. Methods : The patients were treated with Sa-Am acupucture(Damjeonggyeok) added with HT8 and KI6, once a week. Treatments were performed for 20 minutes. The effectiveness was evaluated using total sleep hours and subjective sleep quality based on the Insomnia Severity Index. Result and Conclusions : In all patients, the sleep quality evaluated with the Insomnia Severity Index has shown amelioration and sleeping time was increased. Also, they quit the insomnia pills. Acupuncture at Damjeonggyeok added with HT8 and KI6 seems to be able to one of useful therapies for the sleep disorder in chronic insomnia.
