  • A numerical model for the solution of two-dimensional free surface flow is developed on unstructured grid. By using fractional step method, the two-dimensional shallow water equations (SWE) are treated as two one-dimensional problems. Thus, it is possible to simulate computational hydraulic problems with higher computational efficiency. The one-dimensional problems are solved using upwind TVD version of second-order Weighted Averaged Flux (WAF) scheme with HLLC approximate Riemann solver. The numerical oscillations which are common with second-order numerical scheme are controlled by exploiting WAF flux limiter, Some idealized test problems are solved using this model and very accurate and stable solutions are obtained. It can be concluded as an efficient implement for the computation of SWE including dam break problems that concerning discontinuities, subcritical and supercritical flows and complex domain.

  • We propose a physical simulation method based on the shallow water equation(SWE) to represent water surface effectively. In this paper, the water which can be represented has a much larger width compared to the depth does not have a large vertical direction flow. In order to calculate the water flow efficiently, we start with the shallow water equation as the governing equation, which is a simplified version of the Navier-Stokes equation. In order to numerically calculate the advection term of the SWE, we introduce a new conservtive USCIP(CUSCIP) method which improves the Constrained Interpolation Profile (CIP) method to preserve the physical quantity while increasing the numerical accuracy. The proposed method is based on Kim et. al.'s Unsplit Semi-lagrangian CIP[9], and calculates advection term with additional constraints on term that consider integral values. The experimental results show that the CUSCIP method is robust to the loss of physical quantity due to numerical dissipation, which improves wave detail and persistence.

  • The extraction of flavanones such as naringin, narirutin, naringenin, hesperidin, and hesperetin from grapefruit peels was performed using subcritical water extraction (SWE), hot water extraction, and conventional methods such as methanol and ethanol extraction. We analyzed the total flavanone content using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for each extracting method. Among the three methods, SWE was the optimal method with optimal operating conditions of $170^{\circ}C$ temperature and 10 min operating time. The maximum total flavanone extracted was $86.539{\pm}3.52mg/g$ grapefruit peels. Moreover, we treated the extracts with 60% ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin and then analyzed the surface structure of the encapsulated compounds by field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). The results indicated that the encapsulation in ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin improved solubilization, and the inclusion complex could serve as food supplements.

  • Quantitative analysis of the Zingiber Officinale sample using subcritical water extraction (SWE) was developed employing High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to bolster the advancement of this innovative green extraction process. This research focuses on three principal ginger bioactive compounds: 6-gingerol, 6-shagoal, and 10-gingerol. Various stages were undertaken to establish the quantitative analysis method, encompassing the optimisation of HPLC operating conditions and the formulation of standard calibration curves, yielding individual compound equations. A robust correlation within the calibration curve was achieved, exhibiting an r2 value of 0.9814 and an RSD of 5.00%. A simultaneous, swift, and dependable method was established with an injection time of 20 minutes and an 8-minute delay between injections, in contrast to the previous HPLC analysis requiring a 45-minute injection time for detecting and quantifying all components. Notably, no post-treatment was applied after the SWE process. This advancement allows for potential future online measurement of Zingiber Officinale bioactive compounds extracted using subcritical water extraction through this technology.

  • The extraction of polyphenol and flavonoid from citrus peel was performed by the ethanol, sugar, hot water (80$^{\circ}C$), and subcritical water extraction methods. The maximum yields of total polyphenolic compounds (27.25${\pm}$1.33 mg QE/g DCP, QE and DCP indicate quercetin equivalent and dried citrus peel, respectively) and flavonoids (7.31${\pm}$0.41 mg QE/g DCP) were obtained by subcritical water extraction (SWE) with operating conditions of 190$^{\circ}C$, 1300 psi, and 10 min. The yields by SWE were over 7.2-, and 8.5-fold higher than those of total polyphenols (3.79${\pm}$0.73 mg QE/g DCP) and flavonoids (0.86${\pm}$0.27 mg QE/g DCP) obtained using the ethanol extraction, which showed the highest extraction efficiency among tested conventional methods, respectively. Antioxidant activities of extracts obtained by different methods showed no significant differences. However, the relative antioxidant yield per 1 g dried citrus peel by SWE (190$^{\circ}C$, 10 min) was over 9.5-fold higher than that by the ethanol extraction.

  • In this paper, we describe an approach for image denoising using the lifting construction, with the spatial adaptive wavelet transform. The adaptive lifting scheme is implemented in spatial domain to be adjusted thresholds to reduce noise. In this approach we represent adaptive characteristics of biorthogonal wavelets for choosing predictors effectively. Predict filter is changed from sample to sample according to local signal features with their vanishing moments. We in this approach have implemented and applied to image denoising by finding a relevant minimax threshold. Experimental results show that the adaptive method of denoising process is compared with existing ones, such as non-adaptive wavelet, CRF(13, 7) and SWE(13, 7) wavelets used by JPEG2000.

  • Gold mineralization at Kyaukpahto occurs as stockworks/disseminations and locally as breccia zones in silicified sandstones of Lower to Middle Eocene Male Formation of Myanmar. The mineralization is spatially related with NNE -trending fracture zones_probably tensional open fractures caused by the right-lateral Sagaing fault system. Intensive silicification, sericitization, argillic alteration, sulfidation, and decalcification are recognized in the Kyaukpahto mine area. (omitted)

  • It is important to select the correct disinfectants and to use them appropriately in order to prevent the initial spread of highly infectious livestock disease, such as foot-and-mouth disease or highly pathogenic avian influenza. This study describes a smartphone application developed to enable livestock workers to observe information related to disinfectants for the prevention of livestock disease in the domestic market, regardless of time and location, through a Linux-based Android mobile platform. This application (Konkuk-Disinfectant Information Database) provides information on disinfectant names, components, license and use; it was designed to enable the user to share disinfectant information through social media.
