The purpose of study were to determine the effect of Elastic Band Exercise Based of PNF L/E pattern(EBEBP) on the balance in the elderly people. 24 health elderly women aged 65 to 85 years participated who live in Sun-cheon city Jeon-nam. Participants were divided into exercise(12) and control(12) group to randomized. Exercise participants received strengthening exercise for 30minutes in two times a week for 4weeks while control group continued their normal activities. Exercise used to yellow elastic band which 4 patterns of PNF by 1) hip extension - adduction - external rotation with knee extension, 2) hip extension-abduction-internal rotation with knee extension. 3) hip flexion - adduction - external rotation with knee flexion, 4) hip flexion - abduction - internal rotation with knee flexion. All subjects participated in 3 tests Berg Balance Test(BBT), One-Leg Standing Test(OLST), Functional Reaching Test(FRT). Exercise and control group were tested before and at the end of the test. This collected date were analysed by using paired t-test and independent t-test. The results of this study are as follows; 1. The experimental group was statistically significant difference in balance performance clinical test of BBT(p<0.01), OLST(p<0.01), FRT(p<0.001). 2. The control group was no significant difference in balance performance clinical test of BBT, OLST, FRT(p>0.05). 3. After the exercise, there was significant difference in the BBT(P<0.01), OLST(P<0.05), FRT(P<0.001) between the experimental group and control group in EBEBP. Thus, elastic band exercise based of PNF L/E pattern can result in improved muscle strength and balance in the elderly people. Further studies are required to show long-term effects of exercise training on the elderly people.

The present study aimed at investigating the strengths and weaknesses of a mobile personal health record (PHR) application and identifying its impacts on consumer health information behavior. For the study, twenty-seven college students used a PHR application for three months, based on which the study conducted paper-based interviews with them. The results of content analysis highlighted the benefits of the PHR such as supporting preventive healthcare and motivating and providing specific guidelines for healthy lifestyles by utilizing visual interface design, sharing the data with family and assisting caregivers to manage patients' healthcare, and above all enhancing the interaction between patients and healthcare professionals. However, the study found the drawbacks of the PHR such as a lack of data entry for strength training and the incompatibility with other healthcare applications. The participants were motivated to change their health behaviors in ways such as getting rid of sleep disorders, avoiding alcohol and smoking tobacco, and losing weight, and changing eating habits. Some consumers improved self-efficacy by changing their health behaviors, while the PHR provided emotional supports to the consumers who wanted to improve their health. The present study has an academic significance because the study of PHR is a burgeoning area in Korea. The study provides insights for promoting health and medical information services to cope with the paradigm shift of healthcare fields.
With advances in topic detection and tracking(TDT), automatic trend analysis from a collection of time-stamped documents, like patents, news papers, and blog pages, is a challenging research problem. Past research in this area has mainly focused on showing a trend line over time of a given concept by measuring the strength of trend-associated term frequency information. for detection of emerging trends, either a simple criterion such as frequency change was used, or an overall comparison was made against a training data. We note that in order to show most salient trends detected among many possibilities, it is critical to devise a ranking function. To this end, we define four properties(change, persistency, stability and volume) of trend lines drawn from frequency information, to quantify various aspects of trends, and propose a method by which trend lines can be ranked. The properties are examined individually and in combination in a series of experiments for their validity using the ranking algorithm. The results show that a judicious combination of the four properties is a better indicator for salient trends than any single criterion used in the past for ranking or detecting emerging trends.

Especially, unmanned watch system using USN is core part to transit network centric military service and to get national defense efficiency which overcome the dilemma of national defense person resource reducing, and upgrade guard quality level, and improve combat power by normalizing guardian's bio rhythm. According to the test result of sensor network unmanned watch system, it needs more effort and time to stabilize because of low USN technology maturity and using maturity. In the future, USN unmanned watch system project must be decided the application scope such as application area and starting point by evaluating technology maturity and using maturity. And when you decide application scope, you must consider not only short period goal as cost reduction, soldier decrease and guard power upgrade but also long period goal as advanced defense ability strength. You must build basic infra in advance such as light cable network, frequency allocation and power facility etc. First of all, it must get budget guarantee and driving force for USN unmanned watch system project related to defense policy. You must forwarded the USN project assuming posses of operation skill as procedure, system, standard, training in advance. Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze dental records performed through a dental hygiene process and provide basic data on clinical training education for dental hygienists. Methods : The dental hygiene records of 440 senior dental hygiene students in Y University from March 2005 to September 2008, were examined. The needs of the clients confirmed by the dental hygiene diagnosis was based on Human Need Theory. The client's needs and the number of visits were analyzed according to the general characteristics(gender, age). The contents of the dental hygiene implementation performed according to the needs were divided into dental hygiene care and oral health education. The dental hygiene evaluation was classified into 'Met of Goal', 'Partially Met of Goal', and 'Unmet of Goal' according to the dental hygiene diagnosis. Data analysis was performed for the Frequency statistics and a Fisher's exact test using SPSS 12.0K for Windows. Results : 1. The clients were mostly aged in their 20's(307 clients). 2. The dental hygiene care usually performed was 'Scaling' and 'Recommendation to visit a dental clinic', and the education performed was 'How to brush teeth'. The implementation result from the need to Freedom of Stress was as simple as 'Be careful when treating' and 'Explanation of medical treatment and tools'. 3. The dental hygiene evaluation showed a higher met rate in the field of education than in that of the dental hygiene care. The reason for unmet the goal was 'Lack of the client's efforts and they didn't visit dental clinic'. Conclusions : The search for a range of clients for dental hygiene process should be made through effective connections between the local community institutions and schools. It was suggested that they should be strength the practical exercises for clients suffering dental anxiety and stress in dental treatments. In addition, education and attempts to motivate the clients should be performed according to their characteristics.

To develop effective training methods for strengthening a weakened quadriceps femoris muscle in hemiplegic patients, we examined the effects of maximal isometric contraction of the nonparalyzed knee joint on the electromyographic activities of the paralytic muscle. An electromyogram (EMG) was used to record the electromyographic activities of the paralytic quadriceps femoris muscle in 27 hemiplegic patients. The maximal isometric contraction was measured for each subject to normalize the electromyographic activities. The maximal isometric extension and flexion exercises were randomly conducted when the knee joint angles of the nonparalyzed knees were $0^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, and $90^{\circ}$. The patients were encouraged to maintain maximal isometric contractions in both knee joints during each measurement, and three measurements were taken. A one-minute rest interval was given between each measurement to minimize the effects of muscle fatigue. An average from the three values was taken as being the root mean square of the EMG and was recorded as being the maximal isometric contraction. The electromyographic activity obtained for each measurement was expressed as a percentage of the reference voluntary contraction, which was determined using the values obtained during the maximal isometric contraction. The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, when the knee joint angle of the nonparalyzed knee was $0^{\circ}$, the electromyographic activities of the paralytic medial aspect of rectus femoris were related to measurement by a maximal isometric flexion exercise than by an extension exercise (p<.05). Second, when the knee joint angle of the nonparalyzed knee was $90^{\circ}$, the electromyographic activities of the paralytic lateral aspect of rectus femoris were related to measurement by a maximal isometric flexion exercise than by an extension exercise (p<.05). The results show that myoelectrical activities of paralytic quardriceps were not related to measurement angles and exercise directions of the nonparalized knee joint. Studies on various indirect intervention to improve muscular strength of patients with nervous system disorders of the weakened muscle should be constantly conducted.

The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the effects of aerobic and complex exercise on body composition and blood lipids in the middle-aged women. Sixteen women whose ages ranged in 40 to 50 years were included in the sample of the study. The sample was divided into two groups: (a) aerobic exercise group (n = 8) and (b) combined exercise training group (n = 8). The aerobic exercise program consisted of bicycle ergometer, stepper, and treadmill, whereas; the combined exercise program was designed to improve muscular strength and aerobic capacity. Both programs took place 4 times a week for 12 weeks with the gradual increase of intensity (HRmax 60% 75% and 1 RM 60% 80%). Data were analyzed by nonparametric methods for pre-post within group mean differences (Wilcoxon signed rank test) and for between group mean differences (Wilcoxon rank sum test). Results indicated that there were statistically significant differences in BMI, body fat mass, and triglyceride within the sample of combined exercise; whereas, no significance existed in any variables within the aerobic exercise group. Results also revealed that statistical significance did exist in body fat mass between the combined and aerobic exercise group. These results implies that the combined exercise may be superior to aerobic only excercise for the body composition and blood lipid of the middle-aged women.
The purpose of this study was to help the women with stress urinary incontinence lead more comfortable life, by letting them to do pelvic muscle exercise and to learn by direct experience the effect that urinary incontinence is controlled. The research design was a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 16 middle-aged women(over 38) with stress urinary incontinence. The study was conducted from August 1, to October 11, 1999. Women trained themselves for muscular strength and endurance, every the other day for each exercise for six weeks at home(that means each exercise for more than three days a week) in the pelvic muscle exercise program which was developed by Dougherty et al., and filled out exercise participation card every week. They visited laboratory once a week to get visual feedback, by means of Perineometer, of how the pelvic muscle exercise was going on. Stress Urinary Incontinence Scale that Lee, Young-Sook revised and supplemented Hendrickson's original scale was used for measuring the frequency and situation scores of urinary incontinence, "30 minute pad test" was carried out for measuring the amount of urinary incontinence, and Perineometer was used for measuring maximum vaginal contraction pressure. Percentage, mean, standard deviation and Wilcoxon signed ranks test were used for data analysis by means of SPSS/PC+ WIN 9.0 program. The results were summarized as follows : The hypothesis 1 that after carrying out pelvic muscle exercise program on women with stress urinary incontinence, the weekly degree of urinary incontinence would reduce compared to before the exercise was supported. The hypothesis 1-1 that after carrying out pelvic muscle exercise program on women with stress urinary incontinence, the weekly frequency of urinary incontinence would reduce compared to before the exercise was supported (p=.003). The hypothesis 1-2 that after carrying out pelvic muscle exercise program on women with stress urinary incontinence, the situation scores of urinary incontinence would reduce compared to before the exercise was supported(p=.044). The hypothesis 2 that after carrying out pelvic muscle exercise program on women with stress urinary incontinence, the amount of urinary incontinence would reduce compared to before the exercise was supported(p=.001). The hypothesis 3 that after carrying out pelvic muscle exercise program on women with stress urinary incontinence, the maximum vaginal contraction pressure would increase compared to before the exercise was supported (p=.012). These results suggest that pelvic muscle exercise program has an effect on women with stress urinary incontinence in the degree and amount of urinary incontinence and maximum vaginal contraction pressure. So it is judged that training women with stress urinary incontinence for pelvic muscle exercise is an effective nursing intervention strategy in order to care urinary incontinence.

A micropropagation system for black Locust(Robinia pseudoacacia) was established by using shoots and pin-punctured leaves of in vitro germinated seedlings. The greatest number of shoots (an average of 10.5 shoots) was obtained when shoot tips were cultured on MS medium supplemented with 1.0 mg/l BAP and 0.01 mg/l NAA. When pin-punctured leaf explants were cultured on the same medium, mean number of 13.5 shoots were produced. Shoot growth was accelerated by adding 50 mg/l of silver nitrate ($AgNO_3$), an anti-ethylene compound to the culture medium. Each shoot was excised from the mass and transferred onto half strength MS medium for rooting. Zygotic embryos at different developmental stages were cultured on LS medium supplemented with various growth regulators to induce somatic embryos. When cultured on LS medium with 1.0 mg/l 2,4-D. 14.3% of the zygotic embryos induced somatic embryos. Upon transfer onto the basal medium, somatic embryos sporadically converted into plantlets.
The comprehensive countermeasures against school violence recently announced by the government include some content on physical education classes. Physical education has long been ignored in school paradoxically in spite of the deteriorating physical strength and health of adolescents. The physical education subject undervalued in the middle of overly excessive competitions for college entrance exams finds its core goal in whole person education and officially emphasizes the development of personality aspects, which means that physical education claims important significance by providing diverse approaches to school violence prevention. This study thus set out to enhance the roles of physical education for school violence prevention. In Korean society, school violence has taken deep root due to the combined results of individual, family, school and community factors, the growth-first policy driven by compressed modern growth, and neoliberalism based on economic efficiency. School violence possesses such fixed value systems and convictions in Korean society. Education has failed to achieve some effectiveness because of the serious level of school violence, which calls for assessment of ideology having big impacts on educational environments. Given that it has been rediscovered that physical education has legitimacy of alleviating or preventing school violence through its value, an alternative to eradicate school violence should start with physical education normalization in school. Specific alternatives including the activation of sports clubs in school will be established as more fundamental practical alternatives when accompanied by the development of school violence-related programs and the operation of in-service training programs for physical education teachers.
