  • In this paper, we have described the performance improvement of surveillance radar to prevent damage or malfunction of surveillance radar RF head unit due to the strong reflections caused by artificial obstacles at close range. We have proposed a technique to improve the performance of the RF head unit as a solution to overcome the limitations of the operating system and improve radar performance. We have verified the effectiveness of the improvement by comparing the before and after results applied to actual system.

  • It is well known that cisplatin. one of chemotherapeutic agents. induces DNA damage and kill cancer cells mainly by apoptosis. We recently synthesized a novel Pt(IV)-based anticancer agent. trans.cis-Pt(acetato)2C12(1.4-butanediamine) (K101) with octahedral structure. To evaluate antitumor activity about human cancer of K101, we have performed histoculture drug response assay in 35 cases of colorectal cancer patients. (omitted)

An Approximate Reconstruction of NPT for Synchronized Data Broadcasting (동기화된 데이터방송을 위한 근사적인 NPT 재구성 기법)

  • DVB-MHP recommends that NPT(normal play time) be used as the times of stream events. NPT is the local time within an event(TV program). But we found that commercial transport stream (TS) generators and middlewares for DVB-MHP settop boxes are not ready to support the use of NPT by applications. In particular, TS generators do not create NPT reference descriptors needed to reconstruct NPT at the TV receiver. This situation is undesirable because program providers cannot experiment with the idea of synchronized applications. So we have implemented a TS generator that inserts NPT reference descriptors to TS and MyGetNPT API to approximately reconstruct NPT. STC (system time clock) is needed to reconstruct NPT, but Xlets are not allowed to read it. So, we approximate STC by using PCR (program clock reference) and the Java system tune. In this method, the stream generator extrats PCRs from an existing TS and inserts them into null TS packets in the form of MPEG sections, which can be read by Xlets. Because PCRs are displaced into new positions in TS, their values should be adjusted based on the time intervals between the original positions and the new positions. We implemented a synchronized application by using our TS generator and MyGetNPT API, where the task of stream events are to display graphic images. We found that graphic images are displayed where 240 ㎳ from their intended time, where 240ms is a human tolerance for the synchronization skew between graphic image and video.

  • STC(Sinusoidal Transform Coding) 방식은 음성신호의 주파수 영역에서 스펙트럼 피크치들을 정현파로 모델링하여 합성하는 방식을 말한다. 저전송률 STC 방식에서는 전송되는 정보량을 줄이기 위해 스펙트럼 피크를 대신해 음성신호의 스펙트럼 포락선 정보와, 피치정보를 이용하여 얻어지는 고조파 성분들을 정현파로 모델링하여 음성을 합성한다. 본 논문에서는 음성신호의 정현파 모델에 기반하여 2.4kbps 전송속도를 갖는 음성부호화 알고리즘을 제안하였으며, 실험결과로 합성음의 파형과 스펙트럼 특성, 위상특성, 그리고 MOS(Mean Opinion Score) 테스트를 이용한 합성음의 음질을 비교/분석 하였다.

  • 차음성능 측정에 관한 국제간 신인도 향상을 위하여 home and away 테스트가 수행되었다. 동일 시편에 대한 비교 테스트 결과 대부분의 시편에서는 STC 1 ㏈ 이내의 차이를 보였다. 다만, 특정 시편의 경우 STC 5 ㏈의 차이가 발생하였다. 주원인으로는 잔향시간 측정 오차가 주원인으로 추정되며, 또한 부수적인 원인으로는 시편의 제작 및 설치의 차이 때문인 으로 사료된다.

  • A protocol on transferring informations between IBM-PC/AT and STC(self tuning controller) by using the RS-485 bus is suggested. The operating algorithm is designed so that the host computer monitors the status of STC, and can be updating parameters depending on the environmental conditions for the various oprating mode.

  • This paper deals with the effect of mass-spring-mass resonance that is a characteristics of the multi-layered panels in order to enhance sound insulation performance. From theoretical and experimental investigation, it is evident that tuning mass-spring-mass resonance by controlling elastic modulus of the core materials is very important to improve the STC value without increasing the weight of panels, resulting in enhancing STC value more than 10 dB.

  • There is growing interest in solar power generation due to global warming. As a result, demand for polysilicon, which is the core material for solar cells, is increasing day by day. As the market grows, large and small accidents occurred in the production process. In 2013, hydrochloric acid leaked from the polysilicon manufacturing plant in SangJu. In 2014, a fire occurred at a polysilicon manufacturing plant in Yeosu, and in 2015, STC(Silicon Tetrachloride) leaked at a polysilicon manufacturing plant in Gunsan City. Leakage of chemicals in the polysilicon manufacturing process can affect not only the workplace but also the surrounding area. Therefore, in this study, we identified the hazardous materials used in the polysilicon manufacturing process and quantitatively estimate the amount of leakage and extent of damage when the worst case scenario is applied. As a result, the damage distance by explosion was estimated to be 726 m, and the damage distance to toxicity was estimated to be 4,500 m. And, if TCS(Trichlorosilane), STC(Silicon Tetrachloride), DCS(Dichlorosilane) leaks into the air and reacts with water to generate HCl, the damage distance is predicted to 5.7 km.
