  • We present a study searching for globular cluster systems (GCSs) of two face-on low surface bright- ness galaxies (LSBGs), UGC 5981 and UGC 6614. Based on HSTWFPC2 images of F555Wand F814W filters, we detect 12 and 18 GC candidates for UGC 5981 and UGC 6614, respectively. Although these two LSBGs have very different bulge properties, they have very similar specific frequencies ($S_N$) of 0.1. However, $S_N$ ~ 0.1 is quite small even for their late morphological types, albeit within errors. This suggests that LSBGs have had star formation histories lacking dominant initial starburst events while accumulating their stellar masses through sporadic star formation activities.

  • Starting from an infrared selected GALEX-SDSS-2MASS-AKARI sample of local star forming galaxies, we built mock samples from redshift 0 to 2.5 to investigate star formation rate (SFR) calibrations using WISE luminosities. We find W3 and W4 band fluxes can indicate SFRs with small scatters when the rest-frame wavelengths are longer than ${\sim}6{\mu}m$. When the wavelength becomes shorter, the observed luminosities are more tightly connected to the emission of old stellar populations than dust, therefore lose the reliability to trace the SFR. The current SFR calibrations are consistent with previous studies.

  • The smallest value of the load when the equilibrium condition becomes to be unstable is defined as the buckling load. The primary objective of this paper is to analyse stability boundaries for star dome under combined loads and is to investigate the iteration diagram under the independent loading parameter In numerical procedure of the geometrically nonlinear problems, Arc Length Method and Newton-Raphson iteration method is used to find accurate critical point(bifurcation point and limit point). In this paper independent loading vector is combined as proportional value and star dome was used as numerical analysis model to find stability boundary among load parameters and many other models as multi-star dome and arches were studied. Through this study we can find the type of buckling mode and the value of buckling load.

  • Today, the life cycle of mobile games is getting shorter. In order to overcome this problem, we tried to summarize the strategies and marketing types of game marketing. Recently, I considered the TV advertisement that used the star of the marketing form of mobile game. In this research, user survey was analyzed based on correlation between star marketing and mobile game TV advertisement. And, through an interview with Delphi experts, I summarized the important elements of TV advertisement for mobile games. In conclusion, this research presented a total of five elements on a successful mobile game marketing strategy. The direction of mobile game advertising can promote a successful game that needs to set effective advertising marketing strategy, based on the basic nature of the game and main target.

  • According to historical records, Woon-Ju-Sa temple in Hwa-Soon, Chollanamdo, have had one thousand stone buddhas and one thousand stone pagodas, located south-west hill side of Woon-Ju-Sa is the Seven-Star-Stone(SSS). It consist of seven circular rocks with varying sizes that form a pattern similar to the constellation Ursa Major. SSS(Seven Star Stone) is an important astronomical remain because it might be one of the oldest records showing stellar brightness in Korea. We have compared the sizes of 888s with the magnitudes of stars of Ursa Major. It is found that the sizes of SSSs do roughly represent the magnitudes of Ursa Major stars in a way consistent with the magnitude scale used in Chun-Sang-Yul-Cha-Bun-Ya-Ji-Do(天象列次分野之圖) of Chosun.

  • Open clusters are one of stellar systems consisting of a few hundreds to thousands of stars. The cluster members are, in general, believed to be a coeval stellar population at the same distance, and therefore they have almost the same properties in chemical composition and kinematics. Owing to these advantages, the clusters are utilized in many astronomy studies, such as the calibrations of distance and stellar age scales, assessments of stellar evolution theories, and the chemical evolution of the Galactic disk. Young open clusters are, inter alia, superb objects to study star formation process as most of stars are known to be formed in clusters. In this talk, I will review the uses of these young open clusters in star formation studies based on the ongoing work of our research group on the stellar initial mass function, an age spread problem, mass accretion rate of pre-main sequence stars, and a feedback of high-mass stars on surroundings.

  • It has been known that HCN is one of ubiquitous high-density gas tracer, and the abundance ratio between HCN and its Isomer, HNC sensitively depends on kinetic temperature in star-forming regions. Here we investigate the molecular abundance ratio toward three different evolutionary phases of massive star formation: Infrared Dark Clouds, High-mass Protostellar Objects and Ultracompact HII Regions. We obtained the abundances of HCN and HNC using optically thin H13CN and HN13C lines observed with the KVN single-dish telescopes and MAMBO 1.2mm and SCUBA $850{\mu}m$ continuum data. According to our results, the ratio of [HCN]/[HNC] increases statistically with the evolutionary stage, indicative of the effect of temperature. We also found a strong anti-correlation between the column density of molecular hydrogen and the HNC abundance.

  • Blue Compact Dwarf galaxies (BCDs) are systems which have been experiencing the bursts of star formation in their central region. As one of the origins of active star formation, tidal interaction (merger or fly-by between dwarf galaxies) has been suggested. A pair of BCDs, ESO 435-IG20 and ESO 435-IG16, are suspected to be a good example of such case. They are located at a similar redshift and separated only by ~130 kpc at their distances. In addition a bridge-like HI structure has been found between these two BCDs in the HIPASS survey. In this study, using the ATCA HI data of a much better resolution, we probe the gas morphology and kinematics of individual galaxies. We discuss how tidal interaction is responsible for the high star formation rate in this BCD pair.

  • We present our AKARI study of massive star forming regions where a large-scale cloud-cloud collision possibly contributes to massive star formation. Our targets are Spitzer bubbles, which consist of two types of bubbles, closed and broken ones; the latter is a candidate of the objects created by cloud-cloud collisions. We performed mid- and far-infrared surface photometry toward Spitzer bubbles to obtain the relationship between the total infrared luminosity, $L_{IR}$, and the bubble radius, R. As a result, we find that $L_{IR}$ is roughly proportional to $R^{\beta}$ where ${\beta}=2.1{\pm}0.4$. Broken bubbles tend to have larger radii than closed bubbles for the same $L_{IR}$.
