Floating zone 법에 의한 $SrTiO_3$단결정 성장 ($SrTiO_3$ single crystal growth by floating zone method)

  • Floating zone법으로 strontium titanate 단결정을 육성하였다. 성장조건은 공기 분위기하에서 성장속도 3mm/hr, 상부축 회전속도 20~25rpm, 하부축 회전속도 15~20rpm이었으며 육성한 단결정은 옅은 갈색을 띄고 있었으며 투명하였고 annealing 후 색깔이 옅어짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 성장방위는 [112] 방향이었으며 XRD, EDS로 화학양론적인 조성은 $SrTiO_3$단일 결정상임을 알 수 있었다. $350^{\circ}C$, KOH용액에서 5분동안 chemical etching하여 etch pit pattern을 조사하였으며 상온하에서$350^{\circ}C$의 온도 범위에서 유전상수 값을 조사하였다.

첼렌코프광과 액체섬광계수법을 이용한 89Sr 및 90Sr 분석에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of 89Sr and 90Sr with Cerenkov Radiation and Liquid Scintillation Counting Method)

  • 추출크로마토그래피와 액체섬광계수기를 이용하여 기존의 방사성 스트론튬 분석법 단점을 해결하는 신속하고 신뢰성 있는 $^{89}Sr$$^{90}Sr$ 분석법을 개발하였다. 옥살산 공침혹은 양이온 교환수지로 방해원소를 제거한 후 Sr-spec 컬럼을 사용하여 스트론튬만을 순수분리한 후, 액체섬광계수기를 사용하여 $^{89}Sr$에서 방출하는 첼렌코프광을 측정하였고 spectrum unfolding 방법으로 $^{90}Sr$을 정량하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 방사성 스트론튬 분석법을 환경 표준시료 (IAEA-375, Soil) 및 액체 폐기물시료에 적용하여 분석법의 유효성을 검증하였다.

활성 글루텐 및 검질 첨가에 따른 발아 현미 첨가 우리밀 식빵의 노화 특성 (The Effect of Vital Gluten and Gum on the Retrogradation of Breads Made with Korean Wheat Flour and Sprouted Brown Rice)

  • This study examined the effects of sprouted brown rice (SR), gluten (G), and hydroxypropyl-methyl-cellulose (H) on the suppression of retrogradation in breads made with Korean wheat flour. An amylograph was used to determined the pasting properties of dough samples made with Korean wheat flour and additions of SR, SR+G, SR+H, and SR+G+H, respectively. In addition, a texture analyzer was employed to measure the hardness changes of bread samples left at room temperature for 72 hours. Finally, the type of retrogradation was calculated by the Avrami equation. The results showed that the addition of SR significantly decreased dough viscosity. However, the dough samples containing SR, G, and H all displayed reduced cold paste viscosity and setback, indicating a suppression of staling. The bread samples containing SR added to Korean wheat flour had increased hardness, but the addition of gluten (SR+G) reduced hardness. Upon examining the bread samples stored at room temperature for 24 hours, it was shown that the addition of G and H with SR (SR+G+H) suppressed retrogradation. Finally, the Avrami model data indicated that the type of retrogradation varied according to the addition of SR, G, and H. The breads made with hard wheat flour (HWF), WM, and WM+SR+H had similar Avrami exponents ($1.20{\sim}1.28$), while those for WM+SR, WM+SR+G, and WM+SR+G+H ranged from 2.7 to 3.3. Overall, the combined addition of SR and H was considered effective for preventing retrogradation in bread made with Korean wheat flour.

한국 연안 퇴적물에서 $^{137}Cs,\;^{90}Sr$ 및 PU 동위원소의 분포 (The Distribution of $^{137}Cs,\;^{90}Sr$ and PU isotopes in the Coastal Sediment of Korea)

  • 한국 주변 연안 15개 정점의 퇴적물(0-20 cm)에서 $^{137}Cs,\;^{90}Sr\;^{239-240}Pu$의 농도와 농도 비를 조사했다. $^{137}Cs,\;^{90}Sr\;^{238}Pu$$^{239-240}Pu$의 평균 방사능 농도는 각각 $2.24{\pm0.79\;Bq{\cdot}kg^{-1}-dry,\;0.20{\pm}0.04 Bq{\cdot}kg^{-1}-dry,\;0.009{\pm}0.005\;Bq{\cdot}kg^{-1}-dry}$$0.27{\pm}0.17\;Bq{\cdot}kg^{-1}-dry$ 이다. $^{137}Cs,\;^{90}Sr$, $^{239-240}Pu/^{137}Cs$$^{238}Pu/^{239-240}Pu$의 평균 농도 비와 $^{239}Pu/^{240}Pu$의 평균 원자 비는 각각 $11.2{\pm}2.9,\;0.123{\pm}0.053,\;0.033{\pm}0.016$$0.218{\pm}0.036$이다. 퇴적물에서 핵종의 농도 범위와 핵종간의 농도 비는 그 동안 주변국가의 퇴적물에서 조사한 값과 비슷하였다. 퇴적물에서 $^{137}Cs$$^{239-240}Pu$의 상관계수는 0.80 이다. $^{137}Cs$과 SOM, $^{239-240}Pu$과 점토 함량과의 상관계수는 각각 0.69, 0.67 이다.

  • 본 연구에서는 방사성 폐액내 포함된 방사성 핵종인 세슘-137(Cs-137) 및 스트론튬-90(Sr-90)의 친환경적인 제염을 위해 미세조류의 적용 가능성을 평가하였다. Cs-137 및 Sr-90이 각각 함유된 일원계 표준 방사성 용액과 3차 증류수를 희석하여 1.5 Bq/mL Cs-137, 1.0 Bq/mL Sr-90 농도로 제조한 뒤 실험에 사용하였다. 미세조류는 2종을 사용했으며, Sr-90 제염에는 Chlorella Vulgaris를 사용하였고, Cs-137 제염에는 Hematococcus pluvialis를 사용하여 실험을 수행하였다. 실험 방법은 2주 간 배양된 미세조류를 반투과막이 부착된 병에 투입한 뒤, 미세조류가 투입된 병을 제조된 방사성 용액에 투입하여, 반투과막을 통해 미세조류와 방사성 용액이 48 시간 동안 반응하도록 하였다. 각 시료에 대한 방사능 농도 분석은 γ선 동위원소인 Cs-137은 감마선 핵종 분석기를 사용하였고, β선 동위원소인 Sr-90은 액체섬광계수기(LSC: Liquid Scintillation Count)를 사용하였다. 실험 결과, Cs-137은 약 88.0 %, Sr-90은 약 89.7 % 제염이 가능함을 확인하였으며, Sr-90은 2단 제염 방법에 의해 최종적으로 약 98.6 % 제염이 가능하였다.

  • $Sr_{0.6}Ba_{0.4}Nb_2O_6$ (60SBN) and $Sr_{0.75}Ba_{0.35}Nb_2O_6$ (75SBN) single crystals were grown by Czochralski method. Growing direction was <001>, and as-grown crystals has well-developed (001) plane. Temperature- and frequency dependence of dielectric constant represent relaxor ferroelectrics. 60SBN has wider optical transmittance than 75SBN.

  • 화합물, SrAl₂(BO₃)₂O는 매우 효과적으로 열적 수축성을 나타내는 격자를 가지고 있다. 우리는 세라믹 시험편의 열팽창 계수측정법과 X-선 회절 분광법을 이용하여 제한된 온도 범위에서 열적 수축을 각각 측정하였다. 알루미늄 보레이트 화합물에 있어서, 열적 수축성은 23∼215℃ 온도 범위에서 c 축에 대한 열팽창 계수 -1.64×10/sup -4/ Å/℃를 보였으며, 20㎜ 세라믹 시험편에 대한 길이의 변화측정 결과는 110∼170℃ 온도 범위에서 최대 -1.75㎛까지 수축하였다.

유도결합 플라즈마를 이용한 PST 박막의 식각 특성 (Etch Characteristics of (Pb,Sr) TiO3 Thin films using Inductively Coupled Plasma)

  • (Pb,Sr)TiO$_3$(PST) thin films have attracted great interest as new dielectric materials of capacitors for Gbit dynamic random access memories. In this study, inductively coupled CF$_4$/Ar plasma was used to etch PST thin films. The maximum etch rate of PST thin films was 740 $\AA$/min at a CF$_4$(20 %)/Ar(80 %) 9as mixing ratio, an RF power of 800 W, a DC bias voltage of -200 V, a total gas flow of 20 sccm, and a chamber pressure of 15 mTorr. To clarify the etching mechanism, the residue on the surface of the etched PST thin films was investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. It was found that Pb was mainly removed by physically assisted chemical etching. Sputter etching was effective in the etching of Sr than the chemical reaction of F with Sr, while Ti can almost removed by chemical reaction.

  • The (Ba,Sr)TiO$_3$[BST] thin film were fabricated on the Pt/Ti/SiO$_2$/Si substrate by RF sputtering technique. The structural properties of the BST thin films were investigated with deposition time and substrate temperature by XRD. In the case of the BST thin films which has the deposition thin of 20 min, second phases and BST (111) peaks were increased with increasing the temperature of substrate. The capacitance of the BST thin film (deposition time of 20 min.) was decreased with the substrate temperature and was 1500pF with applied voltage of 1V.

Decrease in $Ca^{2+}$ Storage in the Cardiac Sarcoplasmic Reticulum of Diabetic Rat

  • In order to elucidate the molecular mechanism of the intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ overload frequently reported from diabetic heart, diabetic rats were induced by the administration of streptozotocin, the membrane vesicles of junctional SR (heavy SR, HSR) were isolated from the ventricular myocytes, and SR $Ca^{2+}$ uptake and SR $Ca^{2+}$ release were measured. The activity of SR $Ca^{2+}-ATPase$ was $562{\pm}14$ nmol/min/mg protein in control heart. The activity was decreased to $413{\pm}30$ nmol/min/mg protein in diabetic heart and it was partially recovered to $485{\pm}18$ nmol/min/mg protein in insulin-treated diabetic heart. A similar pattern was observed in SR $^{45}Ca^{2+}$ uptakes; the specific uptake was the highest in control heart and it was the lowest in diabetic heart. In SR $^{45}Ca^{2+}$ release experiment, the highest release, 45% of SR $^{45}Ca^{2+}$, was observed in control heart. The release of diabetic heart was 20% and it was 30% in insulin-treated diabetic heart. Our results showed that the activities of both SR $Ca^{2+}-ATPase$ and SR $Ca^{2+}$ release channel were decreased in diabetic heart. In order to evaluate how these two factors contribute to SR $Ca^{2+}$ storage, the activity of SR $Ca^{2+}-ATPase$ was measured in the uncoupled leaky vesicles. The uncoupling effect which is able to increase the activity of SR $Ca^{2+}-ATPase$ was observed in control heart; however, no significant increments of SR $Ca^{2+}-ATPase$ activities were measured in both diabetic and insulin-treated diabetic rats. These results represent that the $Ca^{2+}$ storage in SR is significantly depressed and, therefore, $Ca^{2+}-sequestering$ activity of SR may be also depressed in diabetic heart.
