The recent work by the authors (see, Withers, 1999; Withers and McGavin, 2006; Withers and Nadarajah, 2006) provided new expressions for repeated upper tail integrals of the univariate normal density and so also for the general Hermite function. Here we derive new expressions for repeated lower tail integrals of the same. The calculations involve the use of Moran's L-function and the Airy function. In particular, the Hermite functions are expressed in terms of Moran's L-function and vice versa.

In this paper, we show that if R is a local-global domain then the Question holds. McDonald and Waterhouse in [6] and Estes and Guralnick in [5] introduced the concept of local-global rings (so called rings with many units) independently. A local-global ring is a commutative ring R with 1 satisfying; if a polynomial f in R[ $x_{1}$, .., $x_{n}$] represents a unit over $R_{P}$ for every maximal ideal P in R, then f represents a unit over R. Such rings include semilocal rings, or more generally, rings which are von Neumann regular mod their Jacobson radical, and the ring of all algebraic integers.s.s.

Northcott and Mckerrow proved that if R is a left noe-therian ring and E is an injective left R-module, then E[x-1] is an injective left R[x]-module. In this paper we generalize Northcott and McKerrow's result so that if R is a left noetherian ring and E is an in-jective left R-module, then E[x-S] is an injective left R[xS]-module, where S is a submonoid of N (N is the set of all natural numbers).

LIS's of cis and trans-methyl-2-phenylcyclopropanecarboxylate, cis and trans-t-butyl-2-phenylcyclopropanecarboxylate, cis and trans-N,N-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxamide, trans-2-phenylcyclopropyl methyl ketone and trans-2-phenylcyclopropyl t-butyl ketone have been studied. The LIS's hold the McConnell-Robertson relation and are mainly influenced by the steric effect. LIS's of trans isomers are larger than those of cis isomers. In trans isomers, the LIS's decrease in the following order: methyl ketone > methyl ester > N,N-dimethyl amide > t-butyl ketone${\sim}$t-butyl ester.

This study purports to contribute in deepening our understanding of ISD (instructional systems design/development) from Edward Hall's concept of intercultural communication. Renowned anthropologist Edward Hall introduced three concepts of cultural differences: time, space, and context. This paper explores how theses cultural dimensions - time, space and context- are reflected in ISD and compares the cultural differences between the east and the west that emerge in the process of applying ISD.

This paper argues that Thailand's internal colonial model is facing severe challenges: no longer is it so possible to suppress local and regional identities, or to submerge ethnic difference in an all-embracing but potentially suffocating blanket of "Thainess." In recent decades, Thailand's diverse localities have become increasingly assertive. This is most acutely the case in the insurgency-affected southern border provinces of Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat, but also applies in the "red' (pro-Thaksin) dominated North and Northeast. As the old ruling elite faces serious legitimacy challenges, Thailand's emerging post-colonial politics may require a radical rethinking of the relationship between center and periphery.

The HSS consists of hard carbide and matrix of martensite, and so its characteristics of wear resistance, fracture resistance, and surface roughness are good. This study was undertaken to investigate the influence of Nb and V and manufacturing conditions on microstructural behaviors and characteristics in the HSS cylindrical specimens(90 $mm^{O.D.}$ ${\times}$ 60 $mm^{I.D.}$ ${\times}$ 50 $mm^H$) manufactured using VCC(Vertical Centrifugal Casting). In the specimen of Fe-2C-6Cr-1.5W-3Mo-4V alloy, the amount of MC carbide was increased and $M_7C_3$ carbide was decreased with the increase of V and Nb contents. The primary VC carbide was formed and followed by the rod-type eutectic MC carbide was formed in the cell boundary in 9%V added specimen. MC carbide was increased, and $M_7C_3$ carbide was decreased with the addition of Nb content. In the specimen containing more than 3%Nb, primary NbC carbide was formed within the cell of matrix. With increase in rpm, cell and carbides became fine, and amount of carbide $M_7C_3$ was decreased due to increase in cooling rate.

PURPOSE. In this study, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of implant surface treatment on cell differentiation of osteoblast cells. For this purpose, three surfaces were compared: (1) a modified SLA (MSLA: sand-blasted with large grit, acid-etched, and immersed in 0.9% NaCl), (2) a laser treatment (LT: laser treatment) titanium surface and (3) a laser and acid-treated (LAT: laser treatment, acid-etched) titanium surface. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The MSLA surfaces were considered as the control group, and LT and LAT surfaces as test groups. Alkaline phosphatase expression (ALP) was used to quantify osteoblastic differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cell. Surface roughness was evaluated by a contact profilometer (URFPAK-SV; Mitutoyo, Kawasaki, Japan) and characterized by two parameters: mean roughness (Ra) and maximum peak-to-valley height (Rt). RESULTS. Scanning electron microscope revealed that MSLA (control group) surface was not as rough as LT, LAT surface (test groups). Alkaline phosphatase expression, the measure of osteoblastic differentiation, and total ALP expression by surface-adherent cells were found to be highest at 21 days for all three surfaces tested (P<.05). Furthermore, ALP expression levels of MSLA and LAT surfaces were significantly higher than expression levels of LT surface-adherent cells at 7, 14, and 21 days, respectively (P<.05). However, ALP expression levels between MSLA and LAT surface were equal at 7, 14, and 21 days (P>.05). CONCLUSION. This study suggested that MSLA and LAT surfaces exhibited more favorable environment for osteoblast differentiation when compared with LT surface, the results that are important for implant surface modification studies.

For The Purpose of Pursuing the Simplest Sampling, a Motion Compensated Block Compressed Sensing with Smoothed Projected Landweber (MC-BCS-SPL) has been Studied for an Effective Scheme of Distributed Compressive Video Sensing with all Compressed Sensing (CS) Frames. However, Conventional MC-BCS-SPL Scheme is Very Simple and so it Does not Provide Good Visual Qualities in Reconstructed Wyner-Ziv (WZ) Frames. In this Paper, the Conventional Scheme of MC-BCS-SPL is Modified to Provide Better Visual Qualities in WZ Frames. That is, the Proposed Agorithm is Designed in such a way that the Reference Frame may be Adaptively Selected Based on the Temporal Correlation Between Successive Frames. Several Experimental Results show that the Proposed Algorithm Provides Better Visual Qualities than Conventional Algorithm.
