SMA 작동기를 이용한 HDD의 비접촉 시동 및 정지 기구의 실험적 성능 고찰 (Experimental Evaluation of HDD's Non-Contact Start/Stop Motion Using Shape Memory Alloy Actuator)

  • In this work, we propose a new type of HDD suspension featuring shape memory ally (SMA) actuator in order to prevent the contact between the slider and disk. The principal design parameters are obtained from the modal analysis using finite element analysis, and then the dynamic model is established to formulate the control scheme for Non-Contact Start/Stop mode drive. Subsequently, a robust Η$_{\infty}$, control algorithm is designed by integrating experimentally-obtained SMA actuator dynamics to the proposed suspension system. The controller is empirically realized and control results for different load/unload profiles are presented in time domain. In addition, the contact signal between the slider and disk is measured by the electrical resistance method.istance method.

  • In this paper we make an flap actuator by using shape memory effects of SMA spring. We studied that the force and stroke what we need to design and the flap mechanism. The force and stroke was estimated through the analysis program which like a catia, matlab etc. We could design and make flap actuator. So The actuator which used SMA spring can apply to small aircraft.

  • In recent years, as the robot technology is developed, the researches on the artificial muscle actuator that enable robot to move dexterously like biological organ become active. The widely used materials for artificial muscle are the shape memory alloy and the electro-active polymer. These actuators have the higher energy density than the electro-mechanical actuator such as motor. However, there are some drawbacks for actuator. SMA has the hysterical dynamic characteristics. In this paper, the simulation of anthropomophic robotic hand is performed using ADAMS and the segmented binary control for reducing the hysteresis of SMA is proposed. SMA is controlled by thermo-electric module. The relations between the force and the hysteresis are developed to verify the validity of the suggested method.

  • This paper proposes a new type of HDD suspension integrated with shape memory alloy(SMA) actuator in order to prevent the friction between the slider and the disk. A finite element analysis is undertaken to investigate modal characteristics of the proposed self loading/unloading slider. The dynamic model is formulated and its validity is proved by comparing the predicted displacement transmissibility with the measured one. A control model is then established by integrating experimentally-obtained SMA actuator dynamics. Subsequently, a sliding mode controller is designed to achieve non-contact start/stop(Non CSS) modes, and control results are presented in time domain.

  • 형상기억합금(SMA)-섬유 액추에이터는 소프트 로봇 공학 및 웨어러블 기술을 포함한 다양한 분야에서 큰 주목을 받아왔다. 이러한 부드러운 액추에이터는 SMA와 단순 직물 섬유를 결합하여 개발되었으며, K 루프와 P 루프라는 두 가지 루프 패턴으로 편직되었다. 두 루프 모두 루프 헤드 형상으로 인해 반대 굽힘 특성으로 구별된다. 그러나 이러한 액추에이터 시트의 편직 공정에는 전문 지식과 시간이 필요하므로 편직 루프 작동 시트의 생산 비용이 높아진다. 이 논문에서는 전압을 가할 때 큰 변형이 발생하는 SMA 직물 기반 액추에이터의 변형을 평가하는 새로운 방법을 소개하였다. SMA 재료의 매우 비선형적인 구성 방정식으로 인해 수치 분석을 위한 분석 모델을 개발하는 것은 어렵다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 SMA 재료의 대변형을 고려하면서 SMA-섬유 액추에이터의 초기 설계에 사용할 수 있는 선형 구성 방정식을 활용하는 새로운 접근 방식을 제안하였다. 전기-기계연성 효과를 모델링할 수 있는 선형구성방적식은 ABAQUS의 UMAT을 사용하여 구현하였다. 이 등가 단위 셀 모델(EUC)은 K-루프와 P-루프의 실험적 굽힘 작동 결과와 비교하여 검증하였다.

  • Two-way shape memory effect(TWSME) under residual stresses are considered in the present study. The structure using two-way shape memory alloy(SMA) concept returns to its initial shape by increasing or decreasing temperature under the initially given residual stress. In the present study, we use a thermo-mechanical constitutive equation of SMA and laminated composite plates are considered as simple morphing structural components which are based on first order shear deformable laminated composite plate with large deflection.   • In this study, adaptation of two-way shape memory effect of SMA wire to the actuator is examined. Therefore the SMA characteristics which are training, material properties, response time at different thermal cycling rates are tested. During training, permanent deformation is accumulated till a certain number of cycle and then saturated. The amount of two-way strain is unchangeable over all cycle and the slope of strain(or stress)-temperature curve is slower as the increase of applied stress. The rate effect is observed resulted from the thermal distribution which heating profile differs from cooling as thermal cycling time. Using the estimated SMA properties, an experimental test for the simple smart wing is performed.

  • This research proposes a novel method of shape display to present 3-dimensional objects. Shape displays allow us to feel the actual volume of the object, unlike conventional 2D visual displays of 3D objects. The proposed method employs a wire frame structure to present 3D objects. The wire frame is composed of small units driven by shape memory alloy(SMA) actuators. The drive unit is analogous to the agonist-antagonist system of animal musculoskeletal systems, where the SMA actuators serve as agonist and antagonist muscles. The force in the SMA actuator is controlled by electrical current. The drive unit is equipped with the locking mechanism so that it can sustain the external force exerted by the user as well as the own weight of the wire frame structure. By controlling the current into the SMA actuator and locking mechanism, we call control the angle of the drive unit. A chain of drive units enables presentation of 2 dimensional objects. 3 dimensional presentations are possible by collecting the chains of drive units.

소형 위성용 비폭발식 저충격 분리장치 (Non-explosive Low-shock Separation Device for small satellite)

  • 본 논문에서는 위성 본체에 장착된 태양 전지 패널을 위성으로부터 분리하기 위한 새로운 개념의 비폭발식 분리 메커니즘을 제안하였으며, 구동기로서 형상기억합금을 이용한 스프링 형상의 구동기를 채택하였다. 먼저 제안된 분리 메커니즘을 구동하기 위해서 필요한 구동력을 측정하였으며, 구동하기에 적절한 구동기를 제작하기 위하여 이론적 계산을 통하여 스프링 형상의 형상기억합금 구동기를 설계/제작 하였다. 최종적으로 분리 메커니즘과 형상기억합금 구동기를 통합하고 분리 장치의 반응속도시험, 사전 하중(Preload) 시험, 충격시험을 통하여 검증하였다. 상기한 소형위성용 비폭발식 저충격 분리장치 개발을 통하여 그동안 사용되었던 선진국의 폭발식 분리장치를 대체할 수 있는 위성 부품의 국산화에 계기를 마련하고자 한다.
